The dungeon is teeming with sexy monsters that need sLaying. All you need to do to sLay is to fuck them real good! Once satisfied, these sexy monsters may drop quality loot. Join in the hunt to sLay and consolidate drops with our guild! We're happy to make trades or buy.
Yaaassss sLay all day!
JOB POSTING ONE! BIG PAYOUT FOR EASY WORK!
I am a pharmacist looking for some brave adventurers willing to go down into the dungeon and collect dongle flower milk for me. I need at least 10 bottles! This is an important ingredient in one of my popular prescriptions. I am not athletic enough to go get it myself and my supplies are running low.
Please deliver all dongle flower milk to the medical shop in the northwest corner of the market. Please note, I need FULL bottles. Do not skimp or I won't pay!
JOB POSTING TWO! HELP A WOMAN'S GROWING BUSINESS!
I am a young lady looking to expand my make-up business. I heard rumors that there's water in the dungeon that could make an AMAZING base for make-up products. But it sounds like it's super scary in there and I don't want to go. Please, someone, help!
You can bring all bottles of dungeon water to the make-up booth in the southeast corner of the market. I'm willing to pay in chips or trade some of my current products. My face masks and nail polishes are really good!
JOB POSTING THREE! PLEASE DON'T ASK WHY!
Hello. I need many dungeon slime cores, so I am looking for everyone and anyone willing to go slime hunting and gather some for me. We can negotiate pay based upon the number of slime cores brought. Do not inquire what the slimes or their cores are needed for.
Please bring all slime and slime core deliveries to back door of the Dried and Baked Sundries shop. Thank you!
JOB POSTING FOUR! I WANT COLLECTABLES!
If you're going into the dungeon, I want collectables. If you find that fabled treasure room, bring me back something cool and shiny. I'm willing to pay good money! I don't care what it is as long as it's hard to get and I can brag to my friends about it.
You can find me drinking in the tavern. I'll be wearing expensive velvet and a tiny hat with a feather.

▶ All TDMs are game canon. This TDM acts as the game's November event and is designed to provide content for players through the mods' December break. The marketplace and dungeon will ICly conclude on January 1st.
▶ Current characters may top level on the TDM. Any current characters posting to the TDM should note they are current in their subject header. The top level directory is for new characters only. We want to make sure new characters are prioritized and receive attention!
▶ Smut threads that take place on this TDM can be used for rewards. If both parties in the smut thread join the game, you may retroactively apply the character's initial card values to your 52 bank. If one character does not join the game the thread will not be applicable toward rewards (as that character would not have a card value). The character that does join would still receive a small payout for the encounter. Hopefully it was a fun thread regardless!

Re: upper dungeon | floor two
"Addison," he says as he gets the two of them to the beginning of the bridge. The winds feel calm enough but he has a feeling they'll start blowing as soon as they make it to the other side, given their usual rate of traversal. He'll scoop Arthur up and run if he has to.
"When-" he swallows, but his voice is steady, "you haven't... killed the monster yet. Have you?"
He'll urge Arthur to take the step with him.
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
Which means John is ahead of him in time. But how far?
"What do you know, John?"
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
"I know that we do go down there," and his voice is measured, careful, as he proceeds. "I know that you nearly die there, stabbed straight through by it. It tries to ensnare you, implants a tendril of itself into the back of your head, and it's only by using the mask and a knife that you're able to cut it off." He swallows audibly. "We figure out that the flute is what's used to control it, that the noise is painful, even... dangerous to it." He keeps walking, keeping his eyes ahead, not looking at Arthur, "and that you nearly get yourself killed again by using the flute when you were practically half down it's fucking throat."
A breath out, slow and steadying.
"It's head explodes. So. Yes, you guessed right." Beat. "We're almost to the other side."
"It's been weeks since then for me, with you, first in New York City and then... somewhere else." As they step onto 'land'- "and a few months since I was brought here where all I had was the feeling of you through the bond between us as I hoped you'd come here."
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
His grip tightens reflexively in John's hand.
He doesn't bolt this time. Once the ground is solid, he stays by John's side. "Well, I'm here now. You said I should get everything back in a day or so?"
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
"Arthur, the wind!"
He wraps an arm around him, as much for warmth as steadiness, and continues-
"There's a shelter this way. I can't see where the next bridge is, but I doubt we'd be safe to cross it until this storm has calmed down a little bit."
Especially considering how little Arthur has on. John hopes he isn't thinking the same of him.
"But yes," as he comes back to the main topic, "given I'm not... I'm not in your eyes, your sight should return within a day or so. The feeling in your arm and foot as well."
Which he likes but also... hates, a little bit. Unconsciously, perhaps, he reaches then, through the bond between them, the red string, and seeks Arthur, the sense of him, the feel of him, the finger he's always had on his pulse since their first moments together.
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
He cuddles against him for strength, shivering against the gale as they find the camp.
"Alright. That will...help, I think."
And there's no way that they can return to normal? is a selfish, fucking question he doesn't ask, and he settles against the thread they share, reaching for him in every way he can.
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
But the answer to the question he has comes the way it was asked, because John is too raw, too exposed curled around Arthur. Because Arthur is right here, now, in his arms, perfect and prickly and shivering. Because of course he reaches back.
I don't think so, no. At least... not here.
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
"That's - that's good. You have your own body, John. That's - that's amazing. That's what you've wanted, right?" His words come out in a stammer, half from cold, half from trying to smooth over the fact that he wanted something that was so actively bad for John.
What sort of person would want to drag John back into that place?
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
There's the obvious answer and the true one.
"No, Arthur," is his answer, gruff and almost... angry at himself for it, "it isn't. What I want is to be with you. A body..." he breathes out and sounds more tired than he ever has, heartbroken at his own selfishness, "I wanted a body so that I could be with you, so that I could- I could help you, fight with you-" a sigh, "so that I could stop... taking from you, as I always have. Your eyes. Your arm. Even your toes."
He swallows.
"But the only thing I want right now is to be back under your skin."
And there's shame in him too for that, for being happy to take from him, for being willing to leave him blind and without an arm just so that-
He clears his throat.
"There's supplies in here, Arthur. Including clothes. Shall we see what's here?"
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
As it stands, he sits miserably in the middle of the tent while John bustles around, closing the flap and searching supplies.
"Yes, I suppose we should," he adds. "I came with a bag myself. I haven't - haven't had a chance to search it." He had stashed it in a spot inside of the costume and forgot about it. He carefully strips out of the layers of clothes John has and plucks out the bag from inside of the nearly skin-tight suit. When he reaches inside, he comes back with a handful of rubies and a single mushroom.
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
He hadn't had anything with him when he arrived, though that was hardly surprising. It's not as if he had anything himself, after all. Though... now that he thinks of it, he's not sure that he knows where his things are, or his stuff. Not that he has much stuff, just a single pair of glasses to his name. He likes them, though. He'll have to seek them out.
"That's... not our- your things. T-the shaving kit. The fishing line." His eyes go very wide. "Your lighter!"
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
"That was all I had," he insists, angry at the moment, at this casino, at this stupid place. He stands up, patting himself down but there's nothing save the skimpy suit.
"I don't have anything else, John. It's not there. It's gone."
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
"I- I can get it back. I should be able to get it back." A breath out. "We can talk about it once we get up to the main area of the resort."
He looks back at Arthur, then reaches out to touch his hand, take it if it's allowed.
"We'll get it back. I... have a voucher saved for an item from home. I've never-" wry, "I don't really need anything. O-or have much of anything. But you should have your lighter."
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
John taking his hand breaks something, cracks a wall, does something and he nearly falls against him again, suddenly not caring that he's feeling skin against his body.
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
John isn't sure it will be welcome, but he decides to try regardless. It had worked... passably when they were under the castle, about to die, when Arthur had almost given up hope. He'll try it again.
He pulls Arthur close, practically into his lap, and he'll keep his arms around him.
His skin, despite the wind and the frigid temperatures here, is warm; for whatever reason, there is a great core of heat inside of him, and Arthur will get to feel it now, practically a radiator in soft brown skin and solid muscle. The meat of him is like weighted blanket all around, albeit one that Arthur could throw off at the easiest and earliest inconvenience.
I'm here. I'm here, with you. And now I'm here, like this. Punctuated by a soft squeeze. We'll get it back, Arthur.
He won't let him drown here either.
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
Arthur chuckles.
"What are you wearing" he finally decides to ask. "We must look ridiculous."
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
After all, at least he still gets to hold Arthur.
"It's from one of the advertisements in New York. There was a painting, a giant painting, that was on the side of one of the buildings. People were wearing them on a beach, in the sun. It... seemed like a good idea."
It's a bathing suit. It's even got a couple of little cut outs at the hip bones.
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
It must just be a coincidence that when he pulls away, the wind picks up.
"Yes, well, we are the farthest place from a sunny beach, my friend."
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
"I noticed," grump, "but this place tends to like to put people in clothing that is skin tight and... revealing. So when I made myself some clothes, I tried to take that into account."
He turns his hand towards Arthur.
"I could make you a proper brown suit with a tie, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea here." A sigh. "I've been... trying to keep a low profile."
At least as low as he's allowed when the stupid chirpy fucker keeps trumpeting about how he's an eldritch god every other fucking week.
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
"What's a low profile here? What sorts of people are here?" he grumbles between chattering teeth. "Have you been making friends?"
Friends who aren't him. Clearly.
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
"Going along with things. Rolling with what the resort wants. ...which mostly seems to entail either emotional or physical intimacy with other people." A breath out. "And there's people here from all sorts of worlds, all different universes. I-"
He thinks to some of the 'friends' he's made. Most of them-
"I've- I've met people, obviously, but the one friend I had made seems to have... left. His name was G'raha Tia." And John sounds... mournful, almost. Arthur doesn't know what it sounds like when he does, but he'd hear it later when they lose Noel. He clears his throat. "G'raha was helping me use the library here to see if I could find any way to handle our problem."
Ah, shit. He's from Addison. This Arthur doesn't even know about-
"Kayne. The man we met in the ruins of Carcosa," he explains, but that's as far as he can get before finally adding- "And if there's something you're looking for, tell me; we can look together!"
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
He doesn't let go, even as annoyance dictates his next words.
"Clothes, John. Clothes. You - you said there might be clothes here."
They can talk about 'that man' after.
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
"Oh."
He'd put his own clothes around Arthur. He hadn't really thought that Arthur would need more; he's not feeling through Arthur's body so he's not cold. Dammit.
"There's not much here: a single bedroll, though it appears thick and warm, and a small crate in the corner which also holds some manner of textile; I can't tell from here if it's clothes or blankets. Let me-"
The tent is small so it's easy enough to reach over, given his size. The wind might howl, but-
"There's a tunic and trousers, two sets, one that looks like it would fit you and another that could probably fit me if I make some adjustments." John is Large. "There's also-" A bright laugh. "Well then. How fortunate."
A pause before he explains.
"My glasses. They were a, uh... birthday gift. From the resort. I'd wondered where they might have gone."
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
He laughs a bit, mostly out of surprise, some out of the temperature drop. He reaches for the clothes and stands up. "John. Do you think you could...well, this outfit isn't exactly keeping me warm."
He needs the warmth, the heat of John while he changes, but he doesn't know how to make the words leave his mouth without dying of 1930s embarrassment.
Re: upper dungeon | floor two
He will never put them on in front of Arthur because he's not sure he could resist if Arthur was any more appealing to him. And he's not sure how that would even work.
"Oh! I, uh..." and he'll reach over to envelope Arthur again, some of the heat radiating now. The warmth is akin to a cozy cabin instead of the desolate little tent in the middle of a wind storm they're actually in.
"Should I- here."
He'll help with putting on the pants first.
