[ akechi had just walked into the room again, as if to check for anything he’d missed (like better clothes), clad haphazardly in a tuxedo.
he blinks at minato, the only sign of surprise that he shows at someone else being in the room. ]
There’s clothes outside. But they’re not much better. [ he drawls, assuming why they’re shivering under the blanket. ]
no subject
Thank you. I'll do that.
[ For now, he gathers up the blankets, using them as a makeshift cloak before carefully stepping down the bunk bed ladder. Once he's finally on solid ground again, he glances back at his company. ]
...is there a party nearby?
[ Why's this guy in a tux... ]
no subject
he knows exactly what he’s wearing under this tuxedo, after all- it’s likely minato is in the same boat.
and while he’s learned that a lot of people here wouldn’t mind being seen like that- might even like it- it’s… better safe than sorry.
then the question.
akechi snorts. ]
Ah. Didn’t you hear? It appears we’re all to be married.
[ says the worst welcome wagon ever. ]
no subject
Married?
[ There's more confusion in his creased brow at that response, compared to when he'd first awakened and noticed his new clothing. ]
Why?
[ On one hand, it explained the wedding lingerie. On the other, surely people donned that type of attire even if they weren't prepared to commit themselves to another person?
He pulls the blanket tighter around his shoulders, not yet prepared to step outside where there were available outfits. It seems he's sincerely perplexed, hesitating not out of refusal, but because he doesn't quite understand the purpose of the mass marriage just yet. ]

im here for maidnato
Here. [ she hands him the maid dress and all the little paraphernalia attached to it, and then flicks her fingers in the direction of the changing room. ] Let's see what that looks like on you.
I know what u are...
He slips away to the changing room, shedding his earlier tuxedo and replacing it with the short black dress and its puffy little sleeves, stocking-clad feet and black flats replacing his trousers and shoes. The heart-shaped lace-frilled apron is pulled around his waist too, secured in a large bow at the small of his back. And as he steps out from the changing room, he wears a puzzled expression with two hair ties looped over a couple fingers, lace headpiece and bobby pins clutched in his other hand. ]
...I don't know what these are for.
[ But one thing he does know: there's something that feels oddly familiar about his current outfit. ]
u mean u know what WE are
she beckons him closer with a loose gesture, a pleased smile on her face as she gets a proper look at him. ]
For your hair, of course. [ two fingers touch beneath his chin to tilt his head up, coaxing him to turn his face to the right and then left. ] It's a little short, but we'll make do.
[ she plucks the lace headpiece from his fingers, putting it on his head first to gauge the placement. his hair is too short to put into braids but she can make little pigtails, securing them with the ties. ]
🙂↕️
He stands still, too, as she ties either side of his hair into the little pigtails, staring straight ahead and standing tall as she experiments with where to secure the headpiece. He's just above her chest height, where he could steal a glance at her cleavage if his gaze dropped just for a moment. Instead, he doesn't move, waiting for the next time Robin needs him to change positions. ]
Will you pick something for yourself, too?
[ Or perhaps she was the bolder sort, leaving it up to chance and the casino's staff to select an outfit for her. But based on this single interaction, he gets the sense that she can be quite discerning about her physical appearance. ]

to the chapel!!
It's not one he's in alone, though, and that isn't lost on him as he's shuffled along to the alter opposite the blue-haired boy about his own age and a ring is slipped onto his finger in place of the one he often wears there.
That's still a strange feeling, too, having no connection to Rika, here — and he's momentarily caught up on that thought before he realizes the other teen has said something. ]
Oh — r-right. I saw that, too... [ Even if he didn't realize that was why. Help. ] Don't worry, we can figure it out together. Um...Okkotsu Yuta, by the way.
[ With a weary smile and little bow of his head. Do they do the vows now, or... ]

Arisato Minato.
[ He'd follow up with an, "it's nice to meet you," but that simply wouldn't do for the casino staff currently observing them. He shouldn't be greeting his about-to-be spouse like it's the first time he's ever meeting him. So he dips his own head, acknowledging the other teen's name before reaching out to hold both of Yuta's hands. ]
I think we're supposed to say, "in sickness and in health, and until death do us part." Or... something like that.
[ He's watched enough romance movies to get the gist of it.
There's a chill in the fingers holding onto Yuta, as if Minato himself were a corpse and the two of them were truly preparing to part. But now that he's holding onto Yuta's hands, the tremble in them is more noticeable, perhaps the only indicator that the cold is abnormal. ]
no subject
[ Oh, right, they're supposed to be playing along, right? He's a bad actor at the best of times, to say nothing of getting fake-married. Swallowing back the niceties, he offers Minato a nod in return instead, reaching out to take his hands.
His own hands tremble just slightly from nerves, but the other boy's icy touch is like a shock to his system. He can't quite keep the surprise out of his features; does he just run that cold? Or does he cover his own nerves that well?
Without much thought, Yuta presses his palms around Minato's hands and holds fast, as if trying to impart some of his warmth to him. ]
Right. I promise, no matter what happens, I'll always be —
[ Oh. The staff is shuffling them off. The string quartet is playing them off the stage. Move on, they have a lot of couples to wed!! ]
...We didn't even say "I do". [ Why does he sound kind of disappointed... ]

i want maidnato but i will resist. beak games time.
Once again, Kazuya is astounded by just how many people he's known and has lost here, people who have shown up again and again with no memories of him or the resort in general. It hurts, it always does. It probably wont ever stop hurting when it happens, to know that memories can be erased so easily, that they're as easily washed away as grains of sand on a beach.
But with that same hurt is clarity.
He can do things better this time.
He can... Not fix things, but not stumble over them so badly like he might have the first time.
Kazuya's arm reaches out as his fingers tug on the buttons of his pants, stopping him from doing so.]
You don't have to. [His voice is firm, but soft.] If you want to, that's something different.
you are so strong
But that's...
[ Why was this person stopping him? ]
That's how we can leave, isn't it?
[ It's Kazuya's tone that has his hands falling away from the front of his pants, observing him with a slight cant of his head. There's the look in his eyes, too, as if he were staring at a ghost where Minato stood. It's enough to give him pause, to reconsider the weight of Kazuya's words. But even after giving it more thought, he can only shake his head. ]
It doesn't matter to me, so I don't mind.
no subject
[It's a pointed question. If the answer is "No", then he's not doing it because it doesn't matter to him, he's doing it because he has no other choice. There's a difference. A big one, as far as he's concerned.
His hand stays on Minato's wrist, keeping him from going any farther.]
Yes or no. Not an "It doesn't matter".

married at first sight.........
And so, Yu wakes all at once with a startled gasp, pulling back. Before he even has time to process the logic of "minato --> no longer stone --> memories questionable???" he's blurting out a reaction.]
Minato--?!
no subject
Even more puzzling is this person pulling out his first name over his surname. ]
You're...?
[ He waits, silently, for the stranger to fill in the blank with his own name. ]
no subject
Yu's heart sinks -- a bit of a surprising feeling. Maybe... maybe he had been hoping for something different.
...] Sorry, [is said with a small smile, friendly and maybe ever-so-slightly sheepish.] I'm guessing you don't recognize this place.
(no subject)
Beak games!
It reminds him of his own arrival here, stuck in this same situation with Kazuya, awkwardly getting the guy off without being into it much himself because getting too close, too intimate felt weird. Or maybe his just projecting in how he assumes this memory-less Minato might be initially coping with the place. Who knows. Either way, he shakes his head with an eyeroll.]
What, you just gonna go for it right there?
[It's part a tease and part a real question. Because yes, one of them has to get off, but that doesn't mean it has to be so damn depressing and utilitarian. Standing up alone in a glass cube and jacking off onto the floor seems like it's got some extra levels of humiliation that aren't exactly necessary.]
You know you don't gotta do this whole... selfless hero thing, right?
[After all, they could both be standing up in a glass cube jacking off onto the floor. Or, you know, anything else.]
no subject
It's... not a "selfless hero thing."
[ Just to clarify, even if he might not be fooling Shinjiro. He's persuaded for now though, hands falling away from the front of his pants to look past Shinjiro's shoulder at the rest of their audience. Some of them exchange perplexed expressions with one another, while others begin to yell things that are muffled through the cube's glass.
Well, none of it matters right now. The enclosed space offers him a chance to speak with his formerly-deceased senpai. ]
It's what needs to be done. That's all.
no subject
You know, when I first got here, I got some pretty decent advice from someone. It may be what's gotta be done, but you can play on your own terms here, too. Make your own choices on where, how, with who, whatever.
[That someone might have been Minato himself, but he'll glaze over that fact.]
I'm just saying that if you're into it, then fine, go for it. If not, we can handle this however we want instead of just... checking off a box for these weirdos.

before pulling on a shirt though, he kneels on the edge of minato's bunk. he's still trembling… despite thinking twice, hand withdrawing with each doubt, yosuke lightly taps what he assumes is minato's shoulder a few times through the blanket. ]
Hey... [ he doesn't know what it's like, coming back from being a statue, but he knows he sat at minato's feet a while ago, looked at the fake sunlight glinting off him like water, and thought regret would choke him. he could have done more.
so he'll do more now. ] Got some clothes here if the blanket isn't warm enough.
coughs blood
...oh. Thank you.
[ How kind of this stranger to retrieve something for him to wear. Even if the blanket alone isn't warm enough, the additional layers of clothing to don beneath the blanket might help with getting his body temperature up.
He slides off the edge of the bed, bare feet touching the cold floor as he glances over the rack of tuxedos and wedding dresses. ]
They're all wedding clothes?
[ It's far better than the lacy underwear he's wearing now, but he's finding it difficult to believe there weren't any casual shirts and pants available instead. ]
tends to you... what's wrong...
[ might as well be honest! he figures minato will understand. he always seems to. pushing off the bed as well, yosuke returns to the rack of clothes. instead of picking out anything for himself, however, he's eyeballing minato's frame and separating whatever looks to be his size. with how minato's bundled up, making him leave his cocoon to pick clothes seems cruel. ]
Couldn't tell you why this is all they left us with though.
[ he lies, like a freaking liar. he still remembers yu telling him about arriving in this place and waking up married: there's not a doubt in his mind that is what's going on now. he and minato don't seem to have rings, at least, so they've been spared anything binding. ]
Any preferences on what you wanna wear?
beak games;
Still. Just a little tempting.
But honestly, all murderous thoughts leave him as he blindly looks around the cube, which feels stupid, because it's not like he's going to know if someone is there or not. An almost resigned sigh leaves him. Well, better just get this over with and hope he's not talking to himself.]
Hey, anyone there?
