Are you looking to make big coin? Do you have the strength and endurance to take on the dungeon? Then we want YOU to join our guild's quest to sLay!
The dungeon is teeming with sexy monsters that need sLaying. All you need to do to sLay is to fuck them real good! Once satisfied, these sexy monsters may drop quality loot. Join in the hunt to sLay and consolidate drops with our guild! We're happy to make trades or buy.
Yaaassss sLay all day!
JOB POSTING ONE! BIG PAYOUT FOR EASY WORK!
I am a pharmacist looking for some brave adventurers willing to go down into the dungeon and collect dongle flower milk for me. I need at least 10 bottles! This is an important ingredient in one of my popular prescriptions. I am not athletic enough to go get it myself and my supplies are running low.
Please deliver all dongle flower milk to the medical shop in the northwest corner of the market. Please note, I need FULL bottles. Do not skimp or I won't pay!
JOB POSTING TWO! HELP A WOMAN'S GROWING BUSINESS!
I am a young lady looking to expand my make-up business. I heard rumors that there's water in the dungeon that could make an AMAZING base for make-up products. But it sounds like it's super scary in there and I don't want to go. Please, someone, help!
You can bring all bottles of dungeon water to the make-up booth in the southeast corner of the market. I'm willing to pay in chips or trade some of my current products. My face masks and nail polishes are really good!
JOB POSTING THREE! PLEASE DON'T ASK WHY!
Hello. I need many dungeon slime cores, so I am looking for everyone and anyone willing to go slime hunting and gather some for me. We can negotiate pay based upon the number of slime cores brought. Do not inquire what the slimes or their cores are needed for.
Please bring all slime and slime core deliveries to back door of the Dried and Baked Sundries shop. Thank you!
JOB POSTING FOUR! I WANT COLLECTABLES!
If you're going into the dungeon, I want collectables. If you find that fabled treasure room, bring me back something cool and shiny. I'm willing to pay good money! I don't care what it is as long as it's hard to get and I can brag to my friends about it.
You can find me drinking in the tavern. I'll be wearing expensive velvet and a tiny hat with a feather.

▶ All characters on the TDM are WILDCARDS, which means they have not yet been assigned a card value. Suits will not manifest until characters are accepted into the game.
▶ All TDMs are game canon. This TDM acts as the game's November event and is designed to provide content for players through the mods' December break. The marketplace and dungeon will ICly conclude on January 1st.
▶ Current characters may top level on the TDM. Any current characters posting to the TDM should note they are current in their subject header. The top level directory is for new characters only. We want to make sure new characters are prioritized and receive attention!
▶ Smut threads that take place on this TDM can be used for rewards. If both parties in the smut thread join the game, you may retroactively apply the character's initial card values to your 52 bank. If one character does not join the game the thread will not be applicable toward rewards (as that character would not have a card value). The character that does join would still receive a small payout for the encounter. Hopefully it was a fun thread regardless!
▶ We ask you to kindly add content warnings to your threads as appropriate.

[ It's the least he can do, even if it's weird to say that about sex. But anyway, he huffs softly, waving a hand. ]
Only a little. For salves and tonics and the like. [ Poisons which Dodger does Not need to know ] Nothing grand.
I've not met anyone by that name, no. Why am I not surprised you know a whole armory of useful people around here?
[ He does make a note of Esikko's name though. Plants are indeed very useful. ]
no subject
I like making deals, and so do useful people. If you need anything done, I can probably find someone for it.
[It's a lot of why he's still alive - being too useful to kill, because he can make whatever his boss wants happen.
Dodger pauses to open the elevators, and once the doors are closed behind them he leans over to steal a kiss.]
I can help you with the game, too. It's not too hard to figure out who's got what cards, and set you up with them.
[Which is only a few steps away from human trafficking, since it would likely involve either coercing them or paying them in some way, but Dodger doesn't really think of it that way.]
no subject
[ He's let go of a fair amount of his suspicions but there are some, still. Not that it's been terrible having a connection to things, and someone so willing to explain things. It's just very rare that those kind of things come out of nothing, in Henry's experience.
Maybe stealing kisses is the payoff that Dodger wants though. Hell if he knows. ]
I guess I haven't been paying so much attention to the cards, if I'm being honest. I've been too busy figuring everything else out.
no subject
[He thinks he's getting plenty out of this arrangement they have. Affection, trust, someone who enjoys his company and who he gets to watch experience new things. There are less well-meaning things too - he likes having someone semi-dependent on him, he likes knowing he can make some use out of this connection in his various deals, and that he'll now be able to make some friends by providing weapons for them. But those feel less important, and he feels like Henry's usefulness is becoming less of a concern every time he spends time with him.]
Doesn't have to be now, the offer's open. I got my necklace back from stacking up cards, and I'm working on getting Bloemrose out of the basement. You can use them to get a nicer room, if you want.
[He hasn't really bothered with ranking himself up - maybe he will later, but for now his room is fine for what it is. He only ever used his apartment back home to sleep or collect his notes, and that's all he needs his current room for.]
no subject
[ Teasing aside, it still feels a little too good to be true, and he'll always feel guilty about spending time with any other guy when he should be saving Hans and maybe telling him how he feels before anything else bad can happen and take that away. Alas... there's so little he can do about any of that now. ]
I think the only item I wanted was my sword, but we've got that covered for now.
[ Assuming you can't get horses or dogs or kidnapped nobles back by playing the game, of course. As for his room, it's a real luxury as it is, as far as he's concerned. ]
Can you imagine if I was the King of Spades? I can't. [ He laughs again, shaking his head. But he takes Dodger's offers seriously, so he adds. ] Thank you, though. I'll remember.
no subject
Most people put up with me. Back home, and here. As long as I do what I'm told and get results, they let me stick around. You're... different.
[There are exceptions - a few people here seem to like him, and he did have a boyfriend back home who loved him. A boyfriend he already wasn't thinking about much when he first showed up, and he's been thinking about less and less over time. He probably would have broken up with Jason by now, if he had the ability to.
He takes a deep breath, and tucks his sword under his arm so he can fish out his cigarettes and light one.]
If you were King of Spades, I'd start sleeping over in your room all the time. I've seen the inside of a few of those suites, they're insane.
[He didn't have permission to be in those suites, but... that's not the point.]
no subject
[ If he doesn't like someone, he's either going to go apeshit on them or he's just not going to waste his time at all. There are a lot of things about Dodger that he still wants to figure out, but he finds that he likes him genuinely.
He waves a hand. ] Ah, you're not so bad, really.
[ He shakes his head then, amused at the prospect of King Henry. ] I haven't seen them, but I imagine they're about ten times fancier than Capon's rooms back home.
no subject
[It's the kind of opulence that Dodger would probably feel deeply uncomfortable with, if it was actually his. But sleeping around with someone in power has always appealed to him, and he doesn't mind boosting other people up so he can play out his fantasy.
He glances at the floor number on the elevator, and steals one more kiss before the doors open. This one is far more telegraphed, since he has to struggle for a moment to take his cigarette from his mouth first. Anything to avoid not holding hands, apparently.]
Trust me, I'm a lot worse than you think I am. But I'm glad you like me.
no subject
[ Henry needs to be doing things. And getting fresh air. Or whatever the equivalent in this place full of fake environments is.
He doesn't say anything about Dodger's attempts not to let go of his hand, but there is a little amused quirk of his lips he's trying to hide against the kiss he's given. And yeah, maybe Dodger is a horrible person, but you could argue that Zizka and Hynek and the rest of the pack are too. Henry keeps really nice company, and he wouldn't have it any other way. ]
Maybe. But you've been good to me. That's enough for now.
no subject
[It is genuinely warming his heart. The idea that him being kind to Henry makes it worth giving him a chance... well, it's all he really wants from anyone. And maybe that opinion will chance if Henry sees the real depths of Dodger's depravity, but Dodger will just have to make sure it's a slow trickle of information.]
Here, there should be a pod... down this way. You're gonna have to talk to them again - they listen better to the higher-ranked folks, and you know what we need to have in there.
[He's still willing to pay, just to even things out.]
no subject
I'm just saying how it is.
[ That said, he sighs a little at the prospect of talking to the attendant about these weird little rooms again, but once they reach someone, he does sneak his hand free so he can explain to them everything he wants. A semi-outdoor setting, an anvil, plenty of tools. Actual ones, not sex toys.
If they ask though he definitely lies through his teeth and implies they're going to get real busy in there together. ]
no subject
He definitely also gropes Henry's ass on their way in, just to sell the lie. The room they get is... well, the outdoor bit seems to be projected onto the walls, but at least there's fans in the ceiling to deal with the inevitable smoke and heat. Dodger takes a moment to glance around, and privately note how many of their new tools look like something he could use them for torture. Well, all things do, if you're creative enough.]
Looks like we got everything - what's the first step?
no subject
There's a leather apron as well, which Henry picks off a hook and puts over his head (they probably assume he'd be wearing the apron and only the apron). Safety first! ]
First we heat the metal. [ He lifts up the sword he'd picked out, looking at it one side and then the other. ] I can't tell you what it's like in your Fahrenheits or whatever, but it's going to change color. A bit orange, then yellow. What we need is something like the color of butter. Anything lighter and that's too hot. Then, I put it on the slab right away. I've got to work quickly before it cools too much.
no subject
He takes the sword, and steps back to give Henry some space while his hands start to heat up. They turn hot enough to glow white, although it's mostly from how pale his skin is, since he's trying to stick to a low enough temperature that he can give the heat time to travel along the metal.]
Fahrenheit is like... a percentage of human temperature, let's say. Humans are usually 100 degrees, I'm usually around 105. The temperature you're asking for is.... around 2100, I think?
[He mostly had to learn this for the sake of safety, making sure he was keeping his distance from things that could catch fire spontaneously from the amount of heat he's putting out.]
Does explain why you're so comfortable around me.
no subject
You're telling me that it takes that much more heat to soften metal?
[ Math, man. Science. Henry can only grasp the idea a little, though he supposes having some specific way to measure temperature does in fact make sense.
As for why he can be comfortable around Dodger, he laughs a little. ]
Aye. I've been around the forge all my life. Martin, the man who raised me, was the blacksmith of Skalitz. A damn good one. [ and yes he sounds very proud ]
no subject
[Although he has nowhere near enough knowledge to confidently teach Henry about lava.
That mention of Martin puts a smile on his face. He is jealous of Henry having two good fathers when he has one shitty one and one completely absent one, but it's still nice to hear about it. A little like hearing his first girlfriend talk about her life in the suburbs, helping run her family's coffee shop. Simple upbringings, all things considered, that feel very foreign to Dodger after the shit-show of a life he's had.]
I've never been taught, but I make things out of metal sometimes when I'm bored. Just molding it with my hands. Used to piss off the man that raised me until he realized I could make new parts for his machines.
[He's using the word 'machines' instead of 'motorcycles' just to save Henry the headache of learning yet another thing. And because he knows there's a floodgate there of excited chattering that he's just barely holding back.
The sword is heated up to the right color, though, so he places it on the slab for Henry to work with, and waves his hands a bit to cool them down faster. Usually not necessary, but this is not far off from the limits of how hot he can get.]
no subject
Same as Dodger feels both jealous and pleased by hearing about Henry's dads, Henry feels saddened and angered on Dodger's behalf when he talks of the man who raised him. He sounds like a real ass. ]
Of course he'd be interested once it meant he got something out of it, right? Anyway, that's a convenient skill to have if you're interested in moving metal.
[ If he had some powers he'd probably like having that ability! He just doesn't want to think on it too hard.
Once the sword is down on the slab though, he takes up the hammer and gets to work. He's using precise strikes, never in the same spot more than once or twice in a row, occasionally flipping the weapon to the other side. Though the heat is slowly leaving it, and the sword has yet to take on the shape he wants it, so he'll have to hand it back to Dodger to top it back up again. In between strikes, he explains: ]
If it cools down too much, that's no good.
no subject
[Dodger likes to think he's relatively honest about his intentions. He keeps things to himself, he skirts around uncomfortable topics, but everyone does. He finds that most of the time, if he tells people exactly what he wants and what he's willing to offer for it, they either take it or negotiate.
He can't really fathom relationships that aren't transactional in some sense. He was raised around men who all viewed things that way, and it sunk deep into his bones.
Dodger watches Henry work with interest - he can tell there's a lot of skill involved here, even if he doesn't entirely understand it. And he's happy to take over and heat it back up as needed, pulling away afterward to vent his heat out each time.]
How long does this usually take?
[He's not asking out of boredom - he's just still impressed by Henry's tolerance for heat.]
no subject
[ Henry also unfortunately believes this, hence why he's been suspicious of Dodger even. Though he believes that there are genuinely good people as well, who wouldn't think of things in terms of transaction. Like Martin, and his ma.
He does take a moment to step away from the heat while Dodger reheats the sword, shrugging his shoulders at the question. ]
As long as it needs. Swords usually a bit longer than an axe-head or a dagger, though.
[ But since these are already mostly sword shaped, they may take a bit less, too. He just needs to fix them up to his (and his dads') standards. ]
no subject
You didn't have stopwatches in Bohemia, huh.
[Must not have, since Henry had no context whatsoever for the Watches, but Dodger still finds himself occasionally bemused by how new the things he takes for granted are. While Henry's working, he ends up scrolling through his Watch to look up when stopwatches were invented.]
I wonder if we'd be able to make something like a butterfly knife out of these swords... I can show you a picture, I used to have one back home. The handle can flip around to act as a sheath, I used to do tricks with it to keep my hands busy.
[Although his main fidget is still smoking. But since a butterfly knife would definitely count as contraband and he hasn't bothered to save up the cards for his old one, he's taken to picking things up and warping or ripping them to make up for it.]
no subject
He continues working, his hammer strikes a certain rhythm as he shapes the sword. Though he nods to acknowledge the butterfly knife. ]
If I see a picture, I can certainly give it a shot.
[ He'd like ways to keep his hands busy too, now that he knows they can use the pods like this. Clearly he isn't too concerned with the contraband thing either. ]
no subject
They're pretty precise, they've got rivets holding the handle bars in place so they can swing freely, and the bars also need to have enough clearance for the blade to slot into them. But I'm sure you could figure it out.
[If nothing else, Dodger is blindly faithful to Henry's abilities in this field. He seems skilled, he certainly has a lot of experience, so it's just down to whether these tools are enough to get the precision they'd need.]
Later project, though. After we've flooded the market with nice swords.
no subject
[ It sounds like a bit of a process, but he does want to give it a try.
He finishes up a few more strikes of his hammer on the sword, before looking to Dodger briefly again. ]
Almost done, then I'll quench it. Normally that's just cooling it rapidly by dunking it in water. [ His head tilts toward a barrel nearby ] Unless that's also something you can do?
no subject
[He is, indeed, very pleased to see Henry getting a sense of the technology. It tells him that his assessment was exactly correct - he's bright, and he'll be very useful once he properly gets his bearings.
The question, though, gets an awkward shrug.]
Nah. Heat's easy, but cooling down is tough. It'd be different if my-
[He falters, rather obviously, and stutters for a moment before correcting himself.]
...If... the ice-maker I used to work with, was with us. He'd probably be able to do it. I know Esikko has ice powers too, but I don't know how accurate they are.
no subject
[ he'd forgotten about those, but they would in fact be very useful. will probably even make the process easier, much as Henry isn't sure he's ready to admit.
That stuttering does grant Dodger a look though, as Henry carries his sword over to the barrel near the anvil. he'd made sure to ask the attendant for that as well, though it wouldn't surprise him if it was full of lube or something. as long as it's cool, he doesn't really care. ]
Okay. Your ice-maker. [ he's suspicious, shaking his head as he dunks the weapon in quickly. ] But don't worry, I've got it.
