MEET THE TEAM
♦ DIAMONDS GAME ♦
OMEGADOME: HUNTING GAME
A cheerful pair of game managers stand outside the conservatory doors and block all guests that try to enter. They quickly explain that a special Diamonds game is taking place inside and only guests that agree to participate may enter. This game is a physical exercise that riffs on "Hunting", which is a popular sport in many different countries and civilizations. Of course, it is one hundred percent safe, and all guests that play are eligible to win massive chip prizes, store vouchers, fabulous prizes, and more.
Details about the game? Those can't be shared outside of the conservatory. Only the brave and those willing to risks will reap the benefits of this Diamonds game. So step right up, dear guests, and sign this waiver before stepping into the flourishing beauty of the conservatory for a brand new adventure.
♥ HEARTS GAME ♥
DOUBLES' THERMO: SURVIVAL GAME
Chickadees is sparing no expense on advertising their e-sport games over the course of the sports festival. Posters, notifications, stickers, fliers! Come one, come all. Sports don't need to be physical. Guests that duck into the arcade will find a variety of e-sport games to enjoy, but the real showstopper that every single employee is aggressively promoting is the new immersive VR game, DOUBLES' THERMO.
A large swath of egg-shaped pods have been installed in the back half of Chickadees. Any guest that shows an iota of interest will be assaulted by employees encouraging them to give it a try. They will offer vouchers for a free session, encourage with mentions of prizes that can be won from the arcade's coveted prize wall, and persuade by praising how high tech and immersive the experience is. Some employees are desperate enough to trick or push guests into the pods if they aren't willing to go in themselves.
However they've ended up inside the VR egg, guests will find themselves submerged in strange fluid as the lid closes. Everything fades away into darkness as the game loads...
♣ CLUBS GAME ♣
QUACK AND COVER: SHOOTING GAME
Cloaca & Dagger has temporarily outfitted itself as a neon-bright paintball course. Gone are the wild sex setups in exchange for series of obstacles and obstructions for guests to navigate while in pursuit of paintball championship. This high intensity game of strategy and physical fitness promises to exhilarate! Welcome to Quack and Cover, a game where your shooting skills and ingenuity will be put to the test.
So say the game managers at the door before following up with a few disclaimers. Cloaca & Dagger is not responsible for any physical or psychological trauma guests may incur while inside. Guests that join the game will then be outfitted in tight black underarmor and supplied with a paintball gun and protective mask before being let loose on the course.
♠ SPADES GAME ♠
PECKING ORDER: MMA GAME
During night hours, many long-standing guests make their way through Talon toward the gym’s creaky basement stairs. Three floors down and then through a desolate hallway with littered with abandoned equipment. Double doors wait at the end, unassuming until they’ve been opened…
Flashing lights, jeers, and the thick odor of sweat. You’ve found the Pecking Order, a late-night mixed martial arts event where guests show their prowess in the ring. Spectating guests shout and messily eat snacks on make-shift bleachers while fighters clash inches away, using only their bodies to fight for dominance and win. Pecking Order is very informal; guests only need to sign up in order to get added to the docket. Anyone can watch, though they will be vaguely warned at the door that even spectating comes with risks.
LOCKER ROOMS
YOU WASH MY BACK, I'LL WASH YOURS
Every training and game location has a door labeled LOCKER ROOM right outside the entrance. These doors all connect to the same massive locker room. The magic of these locker room doors goes one way. Trying to go back to the place you just were by backtracking will not work — you’ll just end up in Beak! All guests will be advised to finish their games before hitting the showers.
The Golden Peacock is proud to present our upgraded and extended locker room. Please come in and enjoy the facilities, catch-up with your teammates, and enjoy some healthy drinks provided by our favorite resort convenience store, Cock-a-doodle-doo’s!

[ This doesn't look like the Seal. Or maybe it is. Why shouldn't it have a set of barracks, and why shouldn't it suddenly decide to dress him in his old tracksuit?
The universe certainly has an odd sense of humor.
Minato runs a palm along the mattress. It feels fine. After all, he doesn't need very much when it comes to dozing off. Way better than napping in class at his desk.
He should... probably try to glean more information about this place. There's one thing in particular that's been bothering him. Minato glances over his shoulder at the person nearby with a small frown. ]
Hey. ...do everyone's belongings go missing here?
[ His headphones? Music player? Gone. ]
b. training field
[ Has Minato learned the consequences of oversleeping today? Yes. Will it probably happen again anyways? Also yes.
It's late afternoon, and he's spent the entire day fetching balls, resetting hurdles, and helping move a goal post back and forth for a coach that just couldn't make up their mind on how far forward they wanted the thing to be on the pitch.
In short, finally getting to pass out water bottles is welcome reprieve. Minato reaches into the box of water bottles in his arms to hand one over, trying not to appear too worn out. ]
Here. For you.
ii. game day.
a. hearts
[ The realism of this VR game is startling. Minato crouches down to scoop some sand into his hand, rubbing the grains between his fingers. It certainly feels like the sand is genuine, and much to his dismay, so does the blazing sun beating down on the back of his neck.
The first thing he'd done was shedding his school uniform's blazer, leaving him in his button-down. At least it's short-sleeved, even if the slacks cancel out any relief from the scorching heat.
The second thing he'd done was hunt down a source of fresh water. His trek through the jungle is rewarded with the sight of a stream of clear, running water. Minato dips his fingertips into it, only glancing up at the sound of approaching footsteps. ]
Looks like we had the same idea.
[ Great minds think alike? Maybe? ]
b. spades.
[ Damn. Maybe he should have asked Sanada-senpai for some boxing pointers after all. Then again, one does not necessarily anticipate waking up in a suspicious resort then getting thrown into a fight ring.
Minato's not pleased, but... it is what it is. In fact, it's a little nostalgic. Feels just like yesterday when he jumped an entire group of men harassing Yukari and chased them all off with his bare hands.
He'll put up an earnest fight and isn't afraid to pull dirty tricks or fight unfairly.
Whether he's won or lost is up to you. ]
iii. cool off (beverage bar).
[ This beverage bar is obscenely extravagant in Minato's eyes. There too many options for someone perfectly content with plain ice water. Perhaps he ought to be a little more adventurous?
He's stuck poring over the options. It does occur to him though that he's probably blocking others off from grabbing a drink, so he steps aside and gestures for you to go first. ]
Sorry, you can go first. I'm... still deciding.
[ Please god someone pick a drink for him. ]
iv. wildcard.
[ Feel free to PM this journal if you'd like any custom starters! I'm here for a laugh. No kinklist atm but I'm down for trying things at least once + when in doubt please don't hesitate to reach out! ]
[of course it was; the game involved tiny egg-shaped pods filled with mysterious liquids. how could it not be a mistake?? but Akira is a child of the new millennia, and the simple words "virtual reality" had piqued his interest a little too much. and thus. . . he is here!]
[trapped on a hot, deserted island]
[with not a single other soul in sight (for now)]
[. . . dressed in the thickly lined, high-quality black leather jacket and white mask he always dons in Mementos, as Joker. this is not proper island wear, dang it!! these boot have heels that sink into the sand and make trekking across the beach a nightmare. so it's really no surprise that he sheds the jacket and the boots first, leaving them folded up neatly on the shore as he starts his own search for water. with his only outfit being his far-too-insulated Mementos wear, he is going to dehydrate faster than a drop of water on sizzling concrete]
[that's how Minato meets him: completely barefoot, black baggy pants, gray sleeveless top, white mask resting atop his head. . . he slows to a stop when he notices the other individual crouched next to the water, a wave of relief coursing through him]
Huh. . .
[lightly!]
And here I thought I was going to have to make my own best fried out of coconuts.
Edited 2025-03-16 04:31 (UTC)
gets out my spoon and starts shoveling your tags into my MOUTH
[ He blinks once. Twice. A third time, just to make sure he's seeing the other person properly in their odd getup. The stranger's still there even after the third blink so -- a real person. Not a mirage cast by the scorching island heat.
Minato sighs and shakes his head. ]
...too hot to climb any trees for those.
[ At the very least, no one's catching him scrambling up a tree for them.
He scoops some of the water into a hand and takes a sip from it. It's cool, offering immediate relief to his parched throat. And though he doesn't gesture for the stranger to come any closer, he nevertheless offers a verbal invitation with: ]
I'd like to think I'm better than a bunch of coconuts.
[ Not that it makes them best friends! But it'll certainly be easier roughing this terrible terrain with a bit of company. ]
[ hello...... you called for ishy, well here she is, looking very comfy with new loungewear that show off her heavily-tatted arms and a towel draped over her shoulders. looks like someone just got out off the showers after a long day of roughing it out there.
she's still figuring out what to drink too, so she blinks when minato lets her go first. ]
It's fine, I haven't decided yet. [ hmm. ] They don't serve alcohol here, do they...
[ Looks like they're both stuck in the same boat. Minato glances back at the selection before shaking his head. Nope, doesn't seem like it. ]
...alcohol dehydrates a person, doesn't it?
[ Which would defeat the purpose of setting up this beverage bar for everyone who'd finished their sports day events, right? Gotta get all those electrolytes back into everyone's systems. Their futures hold yet another day of running around and sweating it out. Terrible. ]
[ Red starts at the sound of a voice and she glances down at him, expression mingled between surprise and relief. ]
Well, yeah. Can't live without water. Even if this is... supposed to be fake, right?
[ She frowns. Virtual reality is a very new concept to her. ]
Especially when it's this damn hot out... [ Slides down to the edge of the stream and dips her hands in to lift some water to her face and splash it against her skin. ]
I'd say we should boil it, but... nothing to boil it in.
[ Spoken with a completely straight face. Sure, maybe there were pathogens little guys floating around in it, but the VR probably wouldn't kill them. He cups his hands together and lowers them into the stream. The cool water quickly pools against his palms. ]
...I don't mind testing it. I think I saw some animals drinking from it earlier though.
[ Surely, the wildlife wouldn't be using this as a watering hole if the water were dangerous? In any event, if he keels over, at least this person knows she should go look for something to boil the water or find a different water source. At the very least his sacrifice won't be in vain.
Dying in a virtual reality game -- it would be a novel experience. He's not exactly opposed to it. ]
[ In the bunk above Minato's, it's Ryoji's turn to stir, his consciousness beset a number of phenomenon that he shouldn't be experiencing anymore — not like this, in a human body, which should have been stripped away from him by now. It's...strange. No one should quite understand finality like he does, and yet, here he is, persisting. Not just as the Appriser of Death, but as himself. As Ryoji.
A heartbeat is a lot to make sense of, especially when he hears a familiar voice from below, which sends his heart into his throat. This — is a dream, isn't it? It has to be. They had said their farewells, and Minato had made his choice, even when Ryoji plead with him to do otherwise. But it doesn't matter that nothing is adding up, that none of this makes sense, or may as well all be happening in his mind, his soul still chained to Tartarus.
It doesn't matter, because he would never not answer that voice.
Thoughtlessly, he rolls over onto his stomach on the bunk, gripping the edge of the bedframe so he can hang down at the side, still not quite prepared to see Minato there, even if he knew his ears weren't lying to him. He's really... ]
[ Minato's head snaps up at the familiar voice, eyes wide with disbelief. It couldn't be, and yet he would recognize that face anywhere. ]
Ryoji? Why are you --
[ ...no, there's no reason for Ryoji to know how he'd landed here. Perhaps whatever had brought him here spirited Ryoji away too. Minato sighs and shakes his head, dismissing all the questions swirling around in his head. Despite the deepening mystery, he's admittedly a little relieved to see an unfamiliar face in this strange place.
He takes a couple steps back to get a better view of the top bunk. Indeed, there's Ryoji in the flesh. Minato swallows down a lump forming in his throat as he clenches his hands at his sides. Part of him thinks to step in close again, to reach up to brush his fingertips against Ryoji's hand to check if he's real.
He doesn't, only because he's not sure he could handle his fingertips phasing through Ryoji. What a cruel trick his mind must be playing. ]
[ A young man peeks up at the hand offering a water bottle from where a towel has been thrown over his head. He's tall and muscular, corded with scars — tilting his head up shares an angular face with large eyes, and another heavy scar across his cheek and the bridge of his nose. ]
...? [ he is surprised, and hesitates, before reaching out to take the bottle. ] Thank you.
[ It's a small unexpected act of kindness; a hot blush works up Genya's throat and cheeks. Damn it, it's just his job as gopher, he's not being nice or anything... or so the young slayer tells himself while cracking the bottle's top open. His gaze slides back up, slowly, as if he doesn't care— ]
[ Minato dips his head to acknowledge the other person's gratitude. He's someplace new. Manners will serve him well. Ergo, he won't comment on the flush creeping up into the other teen's cheeks.
His neutral expression shifts to mild surprise though as a question is leveled to him, eyes widening a bit at the unexpected comment. He's... asking if he was all right? ]
...yeah.
[ Hm. It seems he must look about as tired as he feels. ]
Long day.
[ Hopefully he won't oversleep tomorrow from the exhausting day. A sore back seems inevitable though: a physical reminder to get up on time. ]
[Comes the response of the slightly annoyed teen that's holding a coconut in his hand and looking just a little put out. Yes, he definitely just walked like a hundred miles around this stupid video game or whatever looking for his supposed partner and finally he's found him. And yeah maybe Scott should've used his optic blasts to mark his own position, but no he's going to bitch at Minato a little.
Because he's sweating and probably has a nasty sunburn on the back of his neck.
So yes, Scott with a coconut and his free hand pressed against his side, dressed in some boring beachwear. Like an open shirt and swim trunks. Just a mark of normalcy before he became a mutant.]
[ Look, Minato wishes he was the one in boring beachwear right now. In fact, that's the exact thought crossing his mind as he glances over his shoulder to look at Scott.
He has the gall to wave at the other teen even though he was the one who'd wandered off, all while still crouched next to the stream. Any forms of Scott's future bitching will surely roll off him like water cascading down a duck's back. ]
I found water.
[ So it was worth all the sweat and Scott's sunburn, see? ]
[They never did get to go on their beach trip, did they...? Yu and his friends had talked about it, had made plans over it...but it never did end up happening. Things got in the way.
The Yasogami uniform he's suited up in just seems to drive that point even more.
Yu has been wandering the island for-- well, a while. Long enough that he's shed the jacket from the uniform. He's still debating whether he should just leave it entirely, since it's proving just to be an annoyance to carry, but before he gets the chance--]
Looks like it. [There's relief in his voice, his expression.] I was starting to think no one else was really here.
Minato inclines his head towards the newcomer to acknowledge his presence. ]
Yeah. You're the first person I've come across.
[ He'd seen some of the island's wildlife taking to the skies or skittering along the foliage-covered floor, but not a single hint of another person. In truth, the stranger's a sight for sore eyes considering the point of the game. Something about having to form an "emotional bond" with another person within it? Minato can't recall. He hadn't really been paying attention to the employee's explanation...
He gestures for the other person to come closer. ]
I think this water's okay. There's plenty, so... you should have some before you pass out.
[ He's not the only one sweating through his shirt after all. ]
[ How interesting... Jun couldn't recall the last time someone had posed that dreaded question. Yet the moment he realised he'd arrived at the resort with nothing, the memory remained painfully fresh in his mind. He glances back,
Clearly, the guy was just an oblivious newcomer, blissfully unaware of the true nature of the resort, Jun thought so with a sigh. ]
Yeah.
[ Thanks, Captain Obvious. ]
So if it's somethin' important, you'd better keep a mental image of whatever you're missing. You'll probably get a chance to win it back eventually, or some people've found some stuff in their rooms.
[ Well, the first he knows from experience and same with the second, even if it weren't his own possessions found. ]
[ Minato's not at all pleased with that response, but on the other hand at least he's not the exception. Nevertheless, he can't help but let out a mildly disappointed sigh of his own.
Well, no use dwelling on the fact that his belongings are missing if that's the case. Instead, there are some interesting things he can glean from this stranger's explanation. "Win"? Also, "be glad you arrived with ya clothes on"? ]
...oh. Thanks for the info.
[ ...right, enough of being confused. Sounds like this person's been here a little longer, or at the very least has a better idea of what's going on. Minato turns to him with a small frown before glancing at the watch on his wrist. ]
This watch -- it only called this place the "Golden Peacock".
[ Nothing about confiscating things, including one's clothing... ]
[Hair still damp and unbound from the shower, and dressed in comfortable athleisure, Ann gives Minato a grateful smile.]
Are you sure...? [She eyes him curiously, noting to herself that he's about her age. That was not necessarily reassuring, given the... vibe, but it is somewhat of a relief to know she isn't surrounded by adults in this strange place.] Well... thanks!
[She looks over her options with the discerning eye of someone who orders most of her food from takeout menus, only to deflate.] It's all health food? Ugh. [This place SUCKS.]
[She looks over her shoulder at the boy again.] Which one do you think'll be sweetest? [She's stress eating, okay...]
In any event, Minato blinks as he realizes he's being addressed by the same girl again. Which one did he think would be the sweetest...?
He shuffles forward to peruse the drink selection once more. There's flavored water, but those always run the risk of being a little bland. A variety of teas are available too, but those were probably more bitter as opposed to sweet.
And so, in times of turmoil, it is best to rely on the classics. He reaches forward, plucking a tiny bottle with red foil over its top and hands it over to his company. ]
[ Mitsuru is really looking forward to a cup of hot tea, for many, many reasons. All of them having to do with this ridiculous situation she'd been trapped in the last few days.
Upon reaching the bar however she notices the boy ahead of her is taking his time making a selection. She's not exactly an impatient person ordinarily but when your only solace at the end of a day like today is a half cup of tea it is incredibly difficult for her not to start tapping a foot on the floor...
Perhaps he just needs some guidance? She's mildly relieved when he offers for her to go first and she takes her place next to him to place her order. ]
Thank you.
[ She pauses, glancing sideways at him a moment to offer: ] Some of the herbal teas are quite pleasant.
[ If there's one thing Minato knows for sure about Mitsuru Kirijo, it's that her taste in teas is impeccable. And that would be his foremost thought, had he not been so surprised to see her again. ]
Kirijo-senpai...?
[ But that tone of voice... It's polite, one akin to the sort she used towards strangers. Had he been erased from everyone's memories upon forming the Great Seal? It's not outside the realm of possibilities.
It is what it is. The mild surprise is gone as he falls silent once again to study the assortment of herbal teas. ]
...Thanks. I'll try one of those then.
[ Maybe she'll let her name slip by. It's not as if Mitsuru was a complete unknown at Port Island. One did not simply navigate the world under the radar as the heir to the Kirijo Group. ]
[i'm finally here sorry my pc exploded and then CON. but it's happening. gregor is... doing the same thing, honestly, scanning over all of these bevvie options, a little dumbfounded. what, exactly, is an 'acai' supposed to be? aloe juice? hello?]
Hm? Ah, nah, no worries, bud. I'm just as stuck as you are.
['Just pick one!' somebody grouches behind him, and he realizes belatedly they are very much holding everyone up here.]
Scheiße-- sorry, sorry. Uh...
[he grabs himself a cold brew. that seems safe. and for minato... kombootsomething?? one thing's as good as another. gregor passes it over hurriedly, gesturing for him to scoot too.]
[ The stranger passes him a bottle of -- tea? It looks like tea. It's the amber color of tea, anyways. Minato grasps it in both hands as he steps out of the line, making space for the impatient guest behind them. The guest leans forward to take a better look at the beverage bar's options, rubbing their chin while perusing the selection.
Turns out in spite of their grousing that guest hadn't made up their mind either. And thus, the cycle is cursed to continue.
Minato, meanwhile, flips the bottle over to study its label. ]
Kombucha...?
[ He looks over at the man with an expectant expression. Surely this person had handed it to him because he knew exactly what kombucha was, right? He wouldn't just give someone a drink he'd never tried before. ]
[ Kobato is one of those people that's getting blocked. And, as time passes, he's becoming increasingly annoyed as he watches the other man remain undeciding. ]
Are you fucking serious? Dude.
[ Stepping forward he grabs two drinks that he's been eyeing: a chocolate protein drink and an acai smoothie. ] Pick one.
[ Minato casts both bottles a curious look, taking his sweet time to examine both labels. First is the chocolate protein drink. The label's decorated with a beaming chocolate bar flexing an exaggerated bicep. Based on the cheesy packaging, it... probably tastes fine but overly sweet.
The acai smoothie's a little more subdued, plain in a way that likely relies on people to reach for it based on the fact that it's acai. No cartoon characters here, just some bold-printed lettering and a purple color scheme.
Well... He knows what chocolate tastes like. Minato takes the acai smoothie from the stranger.
And because he does have the audacity to make it sound as though this person was doing him a favor instead of losing his patience, Minato says: ]
Thanks.
[ He steps aside with drink in hand. Rejoice, beverage bar line that is now moving once again...
Minato glances at the other guest with a small frown. ]

Minato? ...Hey.
[ Nailed it. ]
https://tenor.com/view/cat-kitten-screaming-insane-crazy-gif-25352911

You alright?

Just a mark of normalcy before he became a mutant.]
no subject
He has the gall to wave at the other teen even though he was the one who'd wandered off, all while still crouched next to the stream. Any forms of Scott's future bitching will surely roll off him like water cascading down a duck's back. ]
I found water.
[ So it was worth all the sweat and Scott's sunburn, see? ]
...I think it's safe to drink.

i, a!! hi jin :)
... Just be glad you arrived with ya clothes on.
[ And no, he doesn't elaborate any further. ]
eyes BUGGING OUT OF MY SKULL?!?!? HELLO???

emerges from the mist... also III.
[She's stress eating, okay...]
stitch clapping his grubby paws.gif
In any event, Minato blinks as he realizes he's being addressed by the same girl again. Which one did he think would be the sweetest...?
He shuffles forward to peruse the drink selection once more. There's flavored water, but those always run the risk of being a little bland. A variety of teas are available too, but those were probably more bitter as opposed to sweet.
And so, in times of turmoil, it is best to rely on the classics. He reaches forward, plucking a tiny bottle with red foil over its top and hands it over to his company. ]
...maybe this?
[ It's a bottle of yakult! ]

beverage bar
Upon reaching the bar however she notices the boy ahead of her is taking his time making a selection. She's not exactly an impatient person ordinarily but when your only solace at the end of a day like today is a half cup of tea it is incredibly difficult for her not to start tapping a foot on the floor...
Perhaps he just needs some guidance? She's mildly relieved when he offers for her to go first and she takes her place next to him to place her order. ]
Thank you.
[ She pauses, glancing sideways at him a moment to offer: ] Some of the herbal teas are quite pleasant.

Hm? Ah, nah, no worries, bud. I'm just as stuck as you are.
['Just pick one!' somebody grouches behind him, and he realizes belatedly they are very much holding everyone up here.]
Scheiße-- sorry, sorry. Uh...
[he grabs himself a cold brew. that seems safe. and for minato... kombootsomething?? one thing's as good as another. gregor passes it over hurriedly, gesturing for him to scoot too.]
lifts up teej and spins you around
Turns out in spite of their grousing that guest hadn't made up their mind either. And thus, the cycle is cursed to continue.
Minato, meanwhile, flips the bottle over to study its label. ]
Kombucha...?
[ He looks over at the man with an expectant expression. Surely this person had handed it to him because he knew exactly what kombucha was, right? He wouldn't just give someone a drink he'd never tried before. ]

Are you fucking serious? Dude.
[ Stepping forward he grabs two drinks that he's been eyeing: a chocolate protein drink and an acai smoothie. ] Pick one.
no subject
...what's acai?
