【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
Due to a high volume of check-ins, temporary accommodations have been made in our mid-rank suites for all new arrivals. We ask current mid-rank guests to welcome any new arrivals that may temporarily be assigned to their room while we process reservations.
Exciting news! The Phoenix Casino has undergone a renovation. Guests are invited to come enjoy refreshed facilities, games, and lounges. We don't think you'll ever want to leave!
Additionally, the casino will be hosting an upper rank soiree at the end of the month. All guests rank 9 and above are invited to attend. Any +1s of low rank may only attend as a pet or personal attendant. Otherwise, low ranks are not welcome.
We aim to have all guests moved into their suites as soon as possible. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience! 】

[While Rin didn't come in with the suspicious tapir as her pet, she certainly finds it easy to spot him. The roiling hatred, the pathetic aura, and the absolute distaste he holds for this whole thing is nearly palpable. It makes him a fine target for her bullying as she comes up behind him. As he grinds his teeth in disgust over his situation, she grabs his ear to give it a brief tug.]
You know you stick out like a sore thumb. Someone cruel and deviant is likely to pounce on you if you keep this up.
[Someone cruel and deviant like... herself? Possibly. If he turns around to chew her out, he'll find her dressed elegant clothing of reds and blacks that signal her as one of the Royals attending. Someone he should be waiting on, but likely is too busy spitting curses into the drink to do anything about.]
[ For a human-hater majik, it might be said that Bakugami has unusually extensive and close contact with humans. As a camouflaged agent living among the populace of Kagami, they had been cared for, embraced, and confided in by its people. Bakugami had served them, in a way, as a deity—but that was within the shell of the tapir god, cordoned off by the curtains of a tent and a detail of security guards. In fact, most times, it was quite solitary and peaceful.
This? Is not that.
Perhaps a streak of relative luck in meeting some interesting and potentially useful creatures had emboldened them to walk around without their animal guise. Perhaps it was even enough for them to allow conscription into the waitering service, to get a better idea about this place if nothing else. Let's say a particularly generous and tasteful staff member even sees the appeal of conservatism, and provides them a full-coverage, aproned uniform; unfortunately, it's not enough. Evidently, they are soon to regret this decision.
If their estimation of humanity was low before, it's currently headed in a nosedive toward the center of the planet. Even serving drinks comes with an eyeful of distasteful scenes—these are such filthy, irredeemable creatures, even the ones with unfamiliar scents that they can neither deem to be human nor majik. Drowning in hedonism, the clientele of this resort simply drink, gamble, and fuck their lives away, often dragging even the unwilling into their games of debauchery. They make nothing of themselves and create nothing. A wholly depraved and vile spectacle. They've seen more than enough— ]
Gyah—?!
[ The feeling of a tug on their ear makes them jump. It's neither painful nor pleasurable, nor even particularly alarming. What it is is a shock—that anyone who isn't the World Hater Majik would dare touch them in this way?! Their composure cracks, splintering under a temper that is, truthfully, never entirely contained. ]
Hands off, you—!
[ Probably the only reason they don't finish that sentence is because they have to wheel around to get a good look at their interloper. The liquor on their tray sloshes in the highball glasses.
Regrettably, the woman they lay eyes on looks—important. Not that Bakugami holds any particular estimation of the rules and hierarchy of this space, but they do have an idea of what passes for punishment and entertainment here. It's nothing they want to get involved with, not when they don't yet have enough power to defy it. With almost visible difficulty, they swallow the curses they'd like to spout. ]
What do you want?
[ They snap instead. There is no customer service to be spoken of here—no smile nor humility. Rather, their tone carries an audible layer of disdain. ]
[Their negative reaction is just what she was hoping for. Even watching them from afar told her they'd be pissy like this. Instead of being offended by their huffy reaction, Rin simply smiles. Like a predator baring its teeth to prey.]
Well, I was going to ask for one of the drinks you're holding, but it seems you've been particularly careless with them. All that sloshing around has ruined the layered effect of the drinks. How are you going to explain that to everyone who might want one?
[Bakugami may be taller than she is, but Rin stands as tall as her height and heels will let her. She crosses her arms underneath her chest and waits expectantly for a reply.]
[ A pause as an expression of complete bewilderment crosses their face, like the question has never even briefly appeared in their mind. Explain? Why would they explain this to anyone? Truly they've been too fantasy and altar-bound to process the trials and tribulations of modern-day customer service dynamics; it takes the moment to register that this woman intends to challenge them. Over the drinks? Maybe there could be some kind of moral victory here in pointing out the petty ridiculousness of the maneuver, but Bakugami—ex-subject of worship—doesn't find it.
Rather, being questioned by some insignificant pest who imagines she can hold a few drops of alcohol over them is an affront that sets their blood boiling. ]
Huh? Explain myself? To this crude ensemble of human wretchedness? Are you mad? Don't get ahead of yourself just because this place bestowed some rank upon you! That won't make me answer to you!
[ Still, it seems they're keen enough to avoid too much commotion—it's not like they drop the entire serving tray, though the idea is a hefty temptation. At least the venue is noisy enough that some squabbling doesn't attract additional attention. ]
