【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
We are thrilled to announce that the Golden Peacock will be embracing autumn with a special outing. Current and new guests are invited to join us for a refreshing outdoor experience where participants can unplug, unwind, and connect with nature. During this time, all Watches will be disabled to the most basic functions (texting, calls, checking chip account) in order to encourage guests to disconnect.
Please look forward to two weeks of finding yourself amongst the trees. We hope you enjoy your stay, and have a fan-CAMP-stic time. 】

CAMPING
GETTING OFF THE GRID
As the resort moves into what it claims is autumn, the days grow shorter. The projected sun in the Vale sets in the afternoon, after which a faint chill falls. Then there’s the most excessive transformation of all – a portion of the Vale has transformed into a campground complete with a scenic lake, seemingly overnight. Statues nearby have been dressed up with flannel jackets and suspenders. Folksy banjo fills the air without any discernible source.
A section of the campgrounds have been reserved for tents. These tents vary in size, shape, and supplies. All tents, regardless of quality, are supplied with sex toys and lube. Staff and long-standing guests all agree — pretending to live in the wilderness and 'rough it' for a while is thrilling. This is what the peasants feel like all the time!

HOME ON THE RANGE
Welcome to the Peacock Campgrounds! Nicknamed the Stomping Grounds by long-standing guests. Rustic and right off a sparkling lake, guests will find everything they need to live in the wilderness. Staff have expertly set up fire pits, benches, hammocks, and a wooden shed to act as a tool depository. There's even an outhouse, which is a real novelty to many of the long-standing guests. Do they just... squat over that hole and do their business? How wild!
Unlike previous resort-sponsored excursions, guests are expected to manage without the help of staff. That pile of wood won't be replenished once used; guests will have to go chop down trees and split their own. Food won't magically appear in their tents regardless of rank. Camping is all about living off the land. Though staff make themselves scarce to make the experience feel real, they lurk in the shadows, discreetly providing necessary tools and fixing broken equipment so guests won't struggle too much. It isn't fun if it's real hardship, after all!

ACTIVITIES
TWO WEEKS OF ROUGHING IT
Camping can't be all about survival. Where's the fun in that? Before 'leaving', the staff arrange activities and events for guests to enjoy. A wooden bulletin board outlines times for group hikes, camping experiences, and wilderness delights. Adirondack chairs line the edge of the lake and a few tire swings hang over the water, tied to strong tree branches. For the first week and a half the weather is pleasant and sunny. Perfect for camping.
At night, acoustic guitars and other wooden instruments come out so that guests can make music around the bonfire. Projected stars dapple the night sky, forming various constellations sourced from guest worlds. The moon enters a different phase each night, shining a gentle silver across the campgrounds. Why not pull your sweetheart in and cuddle beneath the night sky? It's so romantic.

HOWLING
CALL OF THE WILD
Temperatures drop drastically at night as the camping excursion nears its end. Nights become so chilly that morning dew frosts over, crunching beneath guest feet. Every day the light and its warmth set a little bit earlier. Staff remain elusive and do not provide warmer blankets or clothes for guests, leaving them to cuddle for warmth or find other ways to sleep comfortably during nightly cold snaps.
The moon hits its apex on the final night of camping. Unlike the other nights, this full moon shines blood red. The Vale stills under this ominous sign, silent. Snowflakes begins to fall, spreading an endless clean sheet across the campgrounds. That reflected pink hue is inescapable.

B
Camping out isn't an issue, strangely. Would he prefer better accommodations? Certainly. Is this the worst place he's had to lay his head down at? No, not really.
Startling him, though is going to result in one or two things. Namely, Cale is likely to react with either sending a blast of wind or that shield of his is going to keep anyone from actually reaching him.
Poor Rude. ]
no subject
But it's not. And instead of landing on and pinning Reno, he's being shoved with an absurdly strong gust of wind right into the tree that he'd just jumped out of. It knocks the air out of him, but he laughs like this kind of thing is normal for him.]
Maybe I'll let you catch me if you want to share the rewards. [This man is clearly not Reno, but he has to commend his reaction speed.]
no subject
So Cale still looks surprised as the man who had meant to get the drop of him just laughs. At least Rude is all right, Cale supposes. ]
With that sort of approach, I thought you were the one that was doing the chasing.
no subject
No, I've been hiding. I found out I was a target the hard way, so now I'm a bit paranoid. Forgive me.
[He brushes a leaf off of his head as he approaches, hands up at first to show he's not going to try anything.] And I thought you were someone else. [Rude steps around Cale slowly. It might look like he's checking him out, but really he's only looking for a weapon or aero materia.] How did you do that, anyway?
no subject
Yeah, nope. Cale is suddenly glad that he has a smaller frame and can, in no way, be considered a "big guy." ]
You thought I was someone else you wanted to get a jump on. Fair enough. In the end I think you had a more difficult time than me.
[ That's probably as close to an apology for accidentally blowing Rude away as anything else. Cale's not even huffy about the fact that he had been mistaken for someone else. With so few red heads around, it's very likely possible from a distance.
Though what's with the circling? Surely Cale doesn't seem that suspicious? There are plenty of people here that have special talents? ]
As for the wind? It's just something I picked up back home.
[ Literally. He dug out a child's spin toy at the bottom of the ocean that was holding up a rock. ]
no subject
Looks like we're about even then.
[With no sign of an aero materia Rude stops circling and gives Cale a solid pat on the back. It wouldn't be the first person he's met that has naturally occurring magical abilities, but he thought he'd get a better look. For thoroughness, of course.]
Must come in handy. [He looks around to make sure they're alone before he fully puts his guard down.] Since you're not trying to capture me, I guess I should ask if there's anything you need. I can offer...fish?
no subject
He's not unaware of what Rude is looking for and, if roles had been reversed, Cale would have been doing the same. That's why he's not moving and just allowing Rude to get the investigation out of the way. And though Cale looks sturdy enough, that solid pat on the back has a puff of air leaving his lungs. Nothing that will completely take it out of him, but enough to prove that he doesn't possess much in the way of physical strength. ...Any power he possesses doesn't come from that. ]
They've served their purpose, if nothing else. [ So yes, he has multiple "talents." Wind is just one of them. He then crosses his arms at the offer. ] Though I don't recall saying I wouldn't capture you.
[ There's a small smirk. ]
It's a little hard to deny the temptation when you've practically walked right into my space.
no subject
Or..they could conspire.]
Do you want me to come along willingly? Or are you looking for a challenge? [Rude raises a brow, a little bit of an amused smile on his face as he seeks out a path to run if Cale wants to attempt to apprehend him. He doesn't run but he does start to back away slowly, not expecting an actual headstart so he'll have to make space the old fashioned way.]
no subject
[ See that smile? That is the smile that a man wears when he is angling for an opportunity. Or preparing to cause a bit of trouble. ]
You're already here so why make me work for it? That's completely the opposite of what I want to do.
[ Aaaand there it is. Cale wants the reward without really any of the work. But that doesn't mean he won't put in the effort. The hardest part is finding someone. Capturing someone is the easy part. ]
no subject
The way you say work makes me think you've lived a comfortable life.
[Rude laughs, easily picturing Cale relaxing and lounging, but he had a hard time seeing the stranger doing any sort of strenuous work.] Well I'm here, sure, but you haven't caught me. What will you give me if I let you turn me in? [He doesn't need or want anything, but is curious about what the guy might have to offer. Rude touches a bit of red hair falling into his face, then tucks it behind his ear with familiarity that's out of place between practical strangers.]
no subject
A "comfortable life" huh? Now that would depend, now wouldn't it? His previous life hadn't been an easy one. Maybe that's why he wants to have an easier time in this one. ]
I've put in some effort. [ More than some. He's done a lot of work to obtain his ancient powers and alliances back home. ] Though if I don't need to, is there a reason I should? I would like to relax.
[ There's not even a flinch at being touched without warning though. It's as though Cale is used to being a little handsy without warning. his eyes follow the movement, but that's about it. ]
You were the one that suggested sharing the rewards. I could use the payout, really. Though if you really want to make it difficult...
[ Now he raises a hand. He makes a circular motion with a finger and the wind around them starts to pick up. Cale will start to create a nice little whirlwind around them both to trap Rude if need be.
...It will come with a price but - ]
no subject
You should. You can relax, and maybe we'll run into each other again when you can't catch me. [He's mostly teasing but he does start to walk away, not yet gaining speed before he feels the winds pick up in warning, and it makes him stop in his tracks.]
You know what, maybe you're right. [He squints, shielding his face from the winds and the leaves and twigs caught in the gentle cyclone. Rude takes a few steps back, bumping into Cale then turning to face him.] Alright. It looks like you caught me fair and square. Hopefully you respond like that if someone tries to steal me away, too.
[He pulls Cale's hands apart, assuming that has to do with the little wind funnel he'd made.] What else can you do?
no subject
That's why he's *~*smiling*~* at the way the man turns to leave... Then immediately steps back at the sight of the winds picking up. Cale does take a step back himself, if only because he had been bumped into. If this were to come down to testing one's physical prowess, then Cale is at a disadvantage. This body has likely never held any sort of weapon beyond something that can be thrown - probably an alcohol bottle. Rude clearly has more than that going for him. ]
Something told me that you might see it my way.
[ That he doesn't actually want to test just how strong those winds can be. Grabbing and separating his hands won't stop the winds - because his hands themselves are free. But Rude is welcome to keep trying until he figures that out. Cale is still only going to smile "pleasantly." ]
I wouldn't let anyone dream of taking away my prize. [ So yeah no. Sorry about that, Rude. ] As for what else I'm capable of? Maybe we'll run into each other again and you can find out.
[ What a snarky sonuva - ]
no subject
Playing a cat and mouse game about the situation is far more fun. And if it gets out of hand, he can just pick Cale up and carry him away somewhere to cool down. Well, as long as he doesn't use any more of his abilities. For now he attempts to appear as harmless as possible.]
I see, you want to be mysterious. [Rude nods slowly, assessing, then leans against Cale casually, still silently plotting his escape as he tries to win the guy over. Maybe he'll drop his guard later on.] Guess you're stuck with me, then. Where are we going first, boss? [He messes the younger man's hair for no reason in particular.]
no subject
Which means he could be at risk of passing out or coughing up blood if he pushes too much.
That's why he finally dispels the wind. Anything more than that and Cale might end up struggling. ]
Less mysterious and more a poke player. Why would I ever want to show my hand when the game hasn't actually been one yet?
[ In other words? He won't be lowering his guard. Though the hand in his hair does make him a touch flustered. ]
Where are we - [ A huff. ] To my tent first.
[ To get something to "tie" Rude up with, of course. That's part of the requirement? ]
no subject
But as it stands, he's happy to comply, following him back to his campsite obediently to avoid being blown onto his ass again or sucked up into a wind vortex. Of course he's only going to be compliant as long as it suits him. Depending on what Cale finds to "tie" him with will determine whether or not he'll resist.
And if resisting doesn't work, he can always make it extremely awkward for Cale to get through the process. The moment he arrives at the campsite, he looks around then sits down leisurely on a seat that looks just like a lawn chair. His strong arms drape over the back of the chair, man-spreading a little to get comfortable.]
Don't suppose you have anything to drink around here?
SIGHS AT MISTAKES
Letting someone that can lead to a payout get away? Not happening!Cale gives Rude a passing glance as the man takes a seat. He raises a brow, but it's not like this is an issue. Now unfortunately, the only thing that he would have to tie up the man with will be whatever is in the tent. Considering what they have been given, it's unsurprising that he comes out with silk bindings.
He can roll with that. ]
To drink? Water, of course. [ Which maybe he could give to Rude? ] Hands in front or in back?
no subject
But for now he just seems to relax. At least until Cale returns with the silk rope and Rude's brows raise with obvious amusement.]
Water would be nice. [It's entirely out of reflex when grabs Cale by the wrists the moment he's within reach, head cocked to one side as if trying to decide if he should allow him to tie him up this easily. It would make it difficult if he did try to run away later.] Front. [He sighs, defeated, but pulls Cale down onto his lap to do it. No one said he had to make it easy for him.]
no subject
Cale just raises a brow at the amused glance. No, he actually doesn't get it himself, but. ]
Let's get you secured "properly." Then I can get you that water.
[ Which means, sure. Hands in the front to make that easier. Of course Cale is also aware that gives Rude access to his hands. Difficult to run away, but not impossible.
What throws him off momentarily is being pulled down onto Rude's lap. Rude gets a look for that. Not a displeased one, just a "you could have asked" vibe. ]
I didn't think I was that petite.
[ Okay so he's sensing a pattern here of people just grabbing him. And Cale's wondering what makes him grabbable. ]
no subject
At least he thinks Cale would be the type to say something if he takes things too far. ]
Or you can just trust that I won't go anywhere and we can avoid all of this rope? [He offers hopefully, his hands sliding up from Cale's knees to his thighs, thumbs suspiciously close to his crotch as he tries to look innocent about the whole thing.]
You're not petite. You're pretty tall, and your legs are long. [Rude's hands shift to his hips, holding him steady as he pretends to shift and adjust his position to get more comfortable, well aware of what it might look or feel like. It takes everything he has not to laugh or blush because it would be so easy to break character.]
Wouldn't you have a better time if you let me tie you up?
no subject
And really, he does have a comeback about how it is part of the "rules" that those who are caught need to be tied up. But the glide of hands up his thighs happens to be distracting. There's no way to play off that as innocent, just like Cale won't completely be able to play off how his breath catches.
Being in a much younger body that his original one is great in some ways and more bothersome in others]Being tied up is part of the process. [ A smile! ] How else can I make sure you don't run away?
[ Rude's hands go to Cale's hips and the shifting has Cale holding onto the man's shoulders in return. Cale does wonder whether this shifting is meant to get comfortable or deliberate just like the hands and thumb placement. It has Cale... Considering. Does he necessarily have to turn in this man for a payout? There could be another method that takes care of another underlying issue.
He clicks his tongue against his teeth. If Rude really wants to be that playful... Cale takes Rude's chin between thumb and forefinger. Just to tilt it up a bit. ]
Tie me up? How do I know you wouldn't run away once you did?
[ SMILE SMILE ]
no subject
Is it? Hm, you could put your blind faith in me to stick around.
[He can't even keep a straight face at that suggestion. If the endgame is a payday, he wouldn't leave that to chance either if he were in the other man's shoes. Rude decides he'll try to behave--somewhat. He starts to move his hands into a more respectable position on Cale's thighs when his chin is tilted to make their gazes meet.
Oh. No. Is this payback? That smile doesn't seem innocent at all, and Rude's skin feels like it's heating up all of a sudden.]
I couldn't run away from you if I tried. [The only way out is through, he thinks. Rude started this, so it's only right that he sees it through, calling whatever bluff might be brewing behind the other man's eyes. He leans forward to kiss him suddenly, hopefully catching him off guard.] Tie me up, then. You caught me fair and square.
that moment i thought i responded to this
[ Cale doesn't do blind faith. Even when it seems like he is trusting someone out of the goodness of his heart, it's because he thinks he has a grasp on the character of the person. He doesn't trust like that, really. Thankfully, though, this whole situation is something that can be more... Playful? Less serious.
Brows raise at the hands moving to a less questionable place and there's words on his lips for that. A question about why Rude would say something like that.
Quite frankly, Cale doesn't expect the kiss. Maybe in this place, he really should. One day he won't be surprised to receive one out of nowhere.
That's a lie, he always willIt clearly shows on his face that he hadn't been anticipating that, despite how he had been acting. And then his shoulders sag and he has to just breathlessly laugh a little. ]Here I was going to suggest an alternative, but if you really want to be tied up that badly, I can oblige.
no subject
His only resistance is out of playfulness and curiosity to see what the other man might do to ensure victory. And at some point, just the heaviness of a person on his lap has his body responding in ways that would make it difficult to comfortably run--which is what his words meant. There's likely not much time before Cale can feel the evidence of that beneath him.]
Tell me your suggestion since I like to have my hands free, and I think you'd prefer them free as well. [He laces his fingers together at the small of Cale's back, eyes closing to kiss him again but harder. There's less hesitation in the action the second time, his lips parting slightly to deepen it. Rude is usually big on planning and details, but he finds that he's acting entirely on his fleeting impulses. Reno would might this character development..]
no subject
So Cale shifts, even as hands find their way to his back. It's partially because he doesn't want to lose feeling in his legs, but even Cale is aware what shifting his weight can do when bodies are pressed closed. ]
I have a tent, as you can see, and I don't mind having a little bit of fun instead of playing the whole catch and release game.
[ He doesn't necessarily want to be tied up either, but these tents come with plenty of things to do instead. Cale might be a meticulous planner, but he also knows when to roll with things. So when the next kiss comes, he invites it, hands cupping Rude's jaw and tilting his head for a better angle. ]
