【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
Due to a high volume of check-ins, temporary accommodations have been made in our parking garage for all new arrivals. We aim to have all guests moved into their reserved rooms as soon as possible. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience!
All are invited to There Is No Tomorrow, a Phoenix Casino soiree to celebrate our beloved guests. The festivities will begin at 1800 hours on January 20th and end at 1800 hours on January 27th. Please look forward to 168 hours of delight.
In an effort to raise happiness and encourage better guest relationships, attendance is required. The house will assist guests that are too shy to appear of their own accord. Please note that black tie attire is mandatory. As always, we hope you enjoy your stay! 】

ANY CAR IN A STORM
PHOENIX CASINO HALL
WELCOME TO THE NEXT 168 HOURS
Phoenix Casino is a-flutter with activity and packed to the beak with guests. As a famously ever-changing space, the staff would be remiss if they didn't deck the crown jewel of the Golden Peacock out. The casino glitters from top to bottom, shining brighter than diamonds, rubies, sapphires, opals! Party-goers are shiny and glamorous with picture perfect makeup, fluttering gowns, and sharp suits. Card tables are packed and the slot machines are a-ringing as guests play, play, play! Prizes, luxury, booze, attractive people, it's the place that everyone wants to be at.
Those people being dragged inside by some invisible force...? Silly, they were so excited to come that their bodies moved before they realized what was happening. Those are struggles of joy and definitely not the casino's infamous ghost hands dragging unwilling guests to the party at the behest of the house. Look, they're literally hurling their bodies at the card tables with unrestrained glee!
All clocks indicating day hours and night hours have been removed from the casino. Once a guest has entered, their Watch will jam, making it impossible to keep track of the time. You don't need to worry about that tonight.
▶ All characters on the TDM are WILDCARDS, which means they have not yet been assigned a card value. Suits will not manifest until characters are accepted into the game.
▶ All TDMs are game canon. This TDM acts as the game's January event.
▶ Current characters may top level on the TDM. Any current characters posting to the TDM should note they are current in their subject header.
▶ The top level directory is for new characters only. We want to make sure new characters are prioritized and receive attention! If you would be interested in a game invitation, you can note that in your comment header. This month we also have an ongoing ATP / EMP where players can connect. Please feel free to utilize this for all of your peafowl needs!
▶ If you aren't satisfied with these prompts, please feel free to check out our LOCATIONS to explore more of the resort!
▶ Smut threads that take place on this TDM can be used for rewards. If both parties in the smut thread join the game, you may retroactively apply the character's initial card values to your 52 bank. If one character does not join the game the thread will not be applicable toward rewards (as that character would not have a card value). The character that does join would still receive a small payout for the encounter. Hopefully it was a fun thread regardless!
▶ We ask you to kindly add content warnings to your threads as appropriate.
▶ If you do not currently have permissions and kinks listed in your character’s journal we suggest leaving a note in your top level of any limits or boundaries for other players to reference.
[Her outward friendliness is at least enough to push Scott away from his more grumpy demeanor that's been clinging to him since... ever. Yeah okay, he's had his ups and downs in this place (and in life in general), but it's definitely hard to be a total dickhead when Orihime is clearly excited and happy to participate in this game. She doesn't deserve it, so time to push yourself a little, Summers.
So, he offers her a small smile in return, though it's hard to tell if it reaches his eyes, given the sunglasses that's fully covering them. He just waits patiently as she draws the first card and it's maybe refreshing in its own way that she never seems to miss a beat, her perkiness not cracking even the slightest, as she reads what's on the card.]
What's red bean paste?
[From 1983 America... he hasn't fully experienced a variety of food just yet. It doesn't help that he lived in the suburbs of Ohio for most of his life and only recently moved to New York. He'll get there, eventually, but right now, Scott's looking at his companion with a slight tilt of his head, as if trying to imagine how something like that would taste.]
( People don't often match her energy and friendliness, including some of her closest friends, and Orihime doesn't mind it. There's no point in letting it bring her down, and you can't expect everyone to be cheerful all the time, right? So she doesn't let the small smile deter her from the way she turns bright-eyed brown stare up at him when he replies.
The question, though, earns a soft gasp, one of her hands going to her mouth in surprise, a feeling that lights her expression. And just as quickly as it appears, it's replaced by another burst of that warm energy as she holds up both her hands in little fists, looking up at him in a way that says this is something she's more than happy to talk about. ) You've never had red bean paste? It's delicious! ( Her hands move again, opening one palm up towards the ceiling as she makes a mashing gesture with her fisted other hand. ) You mash up azuki beans and sugar, and them you can use the paste for things like steamed buns, rice cakes, soup, and all kinds of things. It's so good on bread, too!
( And then it occurs to her— ) Do you think they have any here? We should find some when we're done, so you can try it!
( Her fists comes down on her palm, and it's clear she's determined to do just that given the intent nod of her head and serious (but still surprisingly disarming and cute) look she gives him. )
She's just so excited about this?? As she talks about her favorite food to him. Her energy is almost infectious, Scott easing up just a little more as his smile increases, although he doesn't fully match her energy still. It's just kind of nice listening to her as she excitedly talks about red bean paste. He's really never heard of azkui beans before, but with the way she's describing everything... Scott honestly wants to try some now.
He's pretty sure that he's probably seen rice cakes and pastries that had some of that filling in them, but with his limited amount of money, he's only really spent it on stuff that he's familiar with. He doesn't want to waste his chips on something that he may not even like. She's convincing him though, maybe.]
Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's stuff like that here. This place is a lot of things, but it's decent about having a wide selection of food. [Maybe... maybe he can buy a red bean bun and split it with her. He can definitely afford that much. Assuming, of course, she's still interested in eating something like that with him after all this.]
I've only had stuff like black beans. Or kidney beans. [He chuckles a little.] I'm assuming it's different from that.
( Even just that small change in his smile is enough for her to brighten a bit further herself. Even if he doesn't match the level of cheer and delight she has to discuss her favorite food, she's grateful for the little bit she gets all the same. And as she looks back at him, she can't help but wonder if there is something around her she could get for him to try. Would he like it? )
Then we'll find some after the game! ( There's a buffet, after all. Maybe there's something there. And if not, well. She can always find something to eat, and maybe she can try something new and find something for him, too! She nods to herself, and it's clear on her expression that she's determined to do just that. ) Black beans and kidney beans... We don't really eat those back home, I don't think. Except for kuromame, but I'm not sure if that's the same, either. ( Her eyes go up, briefly, thoughtful as she puts a finger to her lips thoughtfully.
Her hand lowers after a few seconds with a little hmmm before her attention turns back to the house of cards. ) Let's finish, and we can find something. ( She steps aside, motioning with both arms towards the house of cards, looking every bit like she's working on some game show, showing a prize to be won. )
[Oh, right, there is a buffet nearby. They can probably find at least one thing there that has red bean paste. Shouldn't be too hard! He might have to follow her lead on that one though. Besides, it's for the best, because she's supposed to be representing her favorite food.]
Really?
[He's a little surprised to hear that she's never tried those beans before, but seems dumb to make a big deal out of it when he's never had azuki beans. Different cultures and their different food-- he doesn't even know what kuromame may be. It's almost fun hearing about this though, go figure. If only it was more normal circumstances...]
I guess depending on which part of the world you're in, you eat a certain kind of bean. [Really, the true way to define each country.] But... sure, yeah. We can grab something after this.
[...Maybe a part of him is actually looking forward to it. First step, draw a card! Scott doesn't want to lose, even if they have a preplanned snack to go to, so he still carefully pulls from the tower before looking at the question written there: What is your favorite past time?
Easy question still.]
My favorite past time. [He repeats, before easily answering.] Uh, normal stuff, pretty much. Going to the mall, the arcade, watching movies.

Do you put that on bread?
