【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
Due to a high volume of check-ins, temporary accommodations have been made in our mid-rank suites for all new arrivals. We ask current mid-rank guests to welcome any new arrivals that may temporarily be assigned to their room while we process reservations.
Exciting news! The Phoenix Casino has undergone a renovation. Guests are invited to come enjoy refreshed facilities, games, and lounges. We don't think you'll ever want to leave!
Additionally, the casino will be hosting an upper rank soiree at the end of the month. All guests rank 9 and above are invited to attend. Any +1s of low rank may only attend as a pet or personal attendant. Otherwise, low ranks are not welcome.
We aim to have all guests moved into their suites as soon as possible. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience! 】

It is a pleasure to meet you, as well. [She does not say 'despite the circumstances' as it would be rude, but also feels rather self-explanatory. She shakes his hand with a soft touch, not weak, but gentle and intentional. Respectful.]
I do believe someone else has plans to interrupt if we don't proceed with our 'date.'
[The staff are not being subtle with their motions just off to the side of them. So Mel sets down her drink and plucks one of the cards off the table. Why not use them if they are there? The question is a surprise, and she brings up a hang to cover her mouth in reflex as she holds in a laugh. She reads the card.]
Is there anything that most people find cute that 'creeps' you out?
[ But again, how bad can it be? He falls quiet when Mel starts reading the card, his head tilting to the side ever so slightly as he processes it. His expression might be a little hard to read, but he's quick to place a smile on his lips when she's done reading. ]
So my turn to answer huh? That's a tough one...
[ He reaches up to brush at the back of his undercut, eyes drifting back towards the staff before looking back to Mel. ]
It's hard to think of something that's cute AND creepy. I'm not big on scary stories but that doesn't exactly fit the bill... What about you? Anything people find cute that you think's creepy?
Ah...hm. [Mel has to think about her own answer, because she doesn't typically consider things she finds to be disturbing. It would be expected to face such a thing rather than avoid it.]
Perhaps...porcelain dolls. They are these delicate toys given to children, usually young girls, in Piltover. Glass eyes that can look into your soul in a way few living beings can. Still, I am not sure I would consider them 'creepy,' but at times the level of detail to make them look identical to humans is...unsettling in its intricacy and skill.
[She had never own dolls in Noxus and been far too old to even consider them when she'd been exiled to Piltover.]
Haha, I can't say I don't see your point. Now that you mention it, puppets are kind of creepy when I think hard about it. I'm not a big fan. Maybe it's something similar to what you're talking about that makes them feel weird.
Most kids I've met have the kind that their parents sew themselves. Those are pretty cute.
[ He smiles a bit fondly at the thought, before he leans over and picks up one of the slips with a question on it, mechanical prosthetic fingers gripping the paper just as easily as his flesh and bone hand would. ]
"What's your favorite thing to do when you're all alone?" If you're ready to try another question, anyway.
I have seen dolls like that. Much more personable in my opinion. [Handmade with love from the items within the home, a treasury of memory. Not something most had in Noxus, but not unheard of. Cute and precious.
She notes his prosthetic arm, but it's not something that is uncommon to her. He is far from the first person, and she doubts he'll be the last, to have a prosthesis. It's so mundane to her, considering how common they were among Piltover's elite, that she doesn't bother to comment on it.
The question is an interesting one. Just bordering on intimate, or perhaps would be so if she felt ashamed of her interests. If she kept them as close to her chest as she once did, as a child.]
One would think you would such a question for after your date has warmed to you. [She settles back again in her seat, at ease and giving him her full attention.] But it's a rather simple answer. Painting. I'd call myself quite adept for a hobbyist. And you?
[ She has a point, and he's breathing in a breath to apologize, hands already splaying out in front of himself -- but then she's answering the question anyway. His mouth shuts with a small clack, his eyes widening a little. ]
Painting huh... Sounds like it'd be a good way to relax.
[ He laughs, an awkward chuckle as he lifts a hand to rub at the back of his neck. It's a nervous habit, a terribly obvious tell when he's a little uncomfortable but he rolls his shoulders in a shrug. ]
Stargazing, when I get the chance. Where I'm from it's pretty oppressively hot during the day, but I've always enjoyed space, and the stars feel like home when the air is cooler.
[ There's a pause and then -- ]
I used to play the piano, but it's been a long time.
[He's awkward and unsure. She forgets sometimes that her sarcasm is not always apparent, when engaging with the same circles for so many years, and he does seem to have taken her seriously. Thankfully, he still played along and she didn't unsettle him into silence.]
Painting can be quite relaxing indeed, but I could say the same of stargazing.
[She smiles, trying to give him some assurance they are still taking these easy.]
Now, I believe it is my turn...
[She plucks another question up, turning it over. Oh. This one is a lot less amusing than the last two. What do you wish you had learned five years before you did?
To the point she sets it down and decides to get another one. The next question is also... Well. Perhaps it isn't as bad? She sighs.]
May as well go on. "If it was possible to transplant your brain to stay alive for another 100 years, would you?"
