【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
Due to a high volume of check-ins, temporary accommodations have been made in our mid-rank suites for all new arrivals. We ask current mid-rank guests to welcome any new arrivals that may temporarily be assigned to their room while we process reservations.
Exciting news! The Phoenix Casino has undergone a renovation. Guests are invited to come enjoy refreshed facilities, games, and lounges. We don't think you'll ever want to leave!
Additionally, the casino will be hosting an upper rank soiree at the end of the month. All guests rank 9 and above are invited to attend. Any +1s of low rank may only attend as a pet or personal attendant. Otherwise, low ranks are not welcome.
We aim to have all guests moved into their suites as soon as possible. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience! 】

[jesus christ. if this was Toma scaling his confession to Edamura's crime, then what the heck else has this kid done?]
[Edamura's expression goes slack as brows rise above his hairline, mouth parting. he stares for a good long ten seconds before he manages to school it again, neutrality settling across his features like a shutter]
[. . .]
. . . well, that was pretty shitty of you.
[it's blunt, and he absolutely means it, and it'd be a lie to say he isn't judging at least a little bit. but who is he to scold Toma for anything he had done in the past? it's not terribly surprising, considering Chobe's violent nature and (what Edamura assumes is) their shared difficult upbringing. he is not goin to harp on this point]
[The glimpse he gets of that first reaction is no surprise; he'll grant Edamura a couple points, though, for getting it under control so quickly.
In any case, it does certainly confirm his suspicions that the man would have reacted poorly to anything more severe. His answer was, in fact, carefully chosen; he suspected any murder could have been a suitable answer, but it seemed surest to pick one without an argument to be made for self-defense. A civilian, in the wrong place at the wrong time, like so many others.
He shrugs, apparently unbothered, and answers simply:] I'm a bandit, remember?
Of course. Like I'd guessed: [He gestures at Edamura.] No stomach for using force.
[is this worse than the forehead flick. . . at least Edamura draws back the moment Toma bats his hand away. he isn't about to overstay his welcome! but as soon as the "punishment" has been doled out? the door opens with an audible click. and Judgmental John's extremely disappointed sigh]
Great! Time to get the hell out of here.
[but not before he gives the problematic painting that started all of this a cheeky smile]

That's one way in which we differ.

So, we're in agreement that mine is worse?

[You two are truly a pair of scoundrels, he says, disgust evident in every single world. Now, should you need suggestions for punishment—]
Nah. I already know what I'm doing.
[and just as promised? Edamura reaches out, and—]
[aggressively ruffles Toma's hair]

--And then ruffles his hair like Toma is an unruly child. He knows Edamura already said he wasn't going to do anything particularly severe, but hey.
Toma startles, refraining from retaliating for just a moment before batting him away - not with any real force.]
Okay-- okay. Punishment carried out, then.

Have fun being stuck on a wall forever!
