【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
Due to a high volume of check-ins, temporary accommodations have been made in our mid-rank suites for all new arrivals. We ask current mid-rank guests to welcome any new arrivals that may temporarily be assigned to their room while we process reservations.
Exciting news! The Phoenix Casino has undergone a renovation. Guests are invited to come enjoy refreshed facilities, games, and lounges. We don't think you'll ever want to leave!
Additionally, the casino will be hosting an upper rank soiree at the end of the month. All guests rank 9 and above are invited to attend. Any +1s of low rank may only attend as a pet or personal attendant. Otherwise, low ranks are not welcome.
We aim to have all guests moved into their suites as soon as possible. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience! 】

[ Yes, he can feel he is being judged for his appearances right now, but he's going to ignore that. But it would be a lie to say he doesn't miss his usual goth wardrobe terribly right now ... he feels so naked, dressed this blandly out in public, and without any of his usual tools. Anyway. ]
You see --
[ he directs Edamura's gaze towards the rules placard for the dice game with a pointed finger. ]
-- I was checking over the rules for this game, and I believe I've found a potential loophole for a relatively easy win. Aah, not to say that a game of this caliber would pose any challenge for someone as seasoned as yourself, of course. But as a humble beginner, I'd like something more manageable. [ He doesn't even give Edamura any room for butting in before he continues smoothly. ] And I don't believe it would break the rules, so it also wouldn't cause too much trouble. Probably. A fifty-fifty split of the gains, in exchange for your cooperation in a test run of my plan. Do I still have your interest?
[SOMEONE AS SEASONED AS HIMSELF?? it's been five minutes and he already wants to dump Rom in the nearest dumpster]
[. . . but at least his curiosity overshadows his exasperation. disinterested in the game as Edamura was, he hadn't bothered scouring the rules for any possible loopholes. it all seemed pretty straightforward, after all. roll the dice. get a task. complete said task. first person to complete three tasks wins. easy as pie, and a good excuse for anyone on the prowl for an exciting encounter to indulge]
[but while Edamura also, as a general rule, doesn't like to cheat. . . his disdain for the resort and its shenanigans is greater than any guilt he might feel over tipping the odds in his favor. it might feel kind of nice to pull a fast one over this stupid casino. a little bit of (petty) payback to the house for fucking with him so much since his arrival. and maybe the light scam will satisfy the aching Clubs that currently burns against his hip. it'd truly be a win-win scenario]
[and so. . . Edamura quirks a brow and studies Rom carefully]
. . . I'm listening. [yes, Rom still has his interest] What's your plan?
[ Rom meets that scrutinizing stare without batting an eye, and smiles slyly as he gets the confirmation he was looking for. Sorry, Edamura, does this feel vaguely ominous? It's fine. He won't actually do anything to you. Probably! ]
Wonderful. I look forward to working with you.
[ Edamura didn't actually agree to anything??? Anyway --
His voice drops a notch in both volume and register as he forges on. ]
The rules don't list any penalty for passing on a roll, nor does it impose any limits for how many times one may pass on their turn. The only condition for victory is being 'the first to complete three rolled tasks,' yes? In other words. [ He points at the dice. ] The quickest way to win would be for two players to collaborate. Both players pass on any prompt that takes too long, and only comply with the quickest commands. 'Compliment' stands out as the best option, though complying with 'bite' or 'hold' depending on the second die might also be wise to avoid drawing the game out too long. I doubt the casino staff would be happy with this methodology, after all. Turns are exchanged as quickly as possible until the win condition is met, and the reward is split. Does this sound reasonable?
[it does feel vaguely ominous?? but it's not like he hasn't dealt with ominous people like Rom before. in fact, this whole conversation feels. . . nostalgic. like he is conspiring with one of his lovable lowlifes back home]
[he is going to staunchly ignore that feeling]
That sounds reasonable, yeah.
[it's not a very exciting plan. in fact, it could barely be called a scam, especially since they'll both be playing by the letter of the game's rules. that said. . . Rom is right when he points out the house won't be pleased if they skip out on every single spicy prompt]
[and that is all it takes to secure Edamura's cooperation]
But are you sure you trust me enough not to pull a fast one over you?
