【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
Due to a high volume of check-ins, temporary accommodations have been made in our new inn for all new arrivals. Wildcards are invited to enjoy rest and relaxation while getting to know their fellow inn patrons. Current guests are encouraged to make reservations at the inn for some self-care. Prices are discounted to celebrate the new year.
All patrons have exclusive access to new additions at Crane's Respite and Heron's Retreat. The inn itself also provides a unique experience unlike anything else in the Golden Peacock.
We aim to have all guests moved into their suites as soon as possible. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience! 】

▶ All characters on the TDM are WILDCARDS, which means they have not yet been assigned a card value. Suits will not manifest until characters are accepted into the game.
▶ All TDMs are game canon. This TDM acts as the game's January event.
▶ Current characters may top level on the TDM. Any current characters posting to the TDM should note they are current in their subject header.
▶ The top level directory is for new characters only. We want to make sure new characters are prioritized and receive attention! If you would be interested in a game invitation, you can note that in your comment header. This month we also have an ongoing ATP / EMP where players can connect. Please feel free to utilize this for all of your peafowl needs!
▶ Smut threads that take place on this TDM can be used for rewards. If both parties in the smut thread join the game, you may retroactively apply the character's initial card values to your 52 bank. If one character does not join the game the thread will not be applicable toward rewards (as that character would not have a card value). The character that does join would still receive a small payout for the encounter. Hopefully it was a fun thread regardless!
▶ We ask you to kindly add content warnings to your threads as appropriate.
▶ If you do not currently have permissions and kinks listed in your character’s journal we suggest leaving a note in your top level of any limits or boundaries for other players to reference.
[ Unfortunately for both Bella's dignity and their efforts to remain unnoticed, Bella screams at the pop. Well, she yelps. Just a little. Like she could've dropped her croissant. ]
Holy hell. [ She presses her hand to her chest, giving him a wide-eyed look, and then giving the people glancing over at them a much more sheepish one. ] Sorry, everything's okay, promise.
[ Back to Dodger: ] You're full of surprises, aren't you? I'm over in the south part of the inn. [ She gives him the number. ] There were some other guests in there, though.
[Dodger rolls his eyes at the yelp, but it's good-natured enough. There's a smile that goes along with it, if nothing else.]
You're gonna have to get used to surprises, Bella.
[He slides a hand around her waist - although it's slow, telegraphing in case she wants to push him off. And he'll fully accept it if she does. Either way:]
If there's other guests, we'll tell 'em we need the room. Easy enough fix.
[He kind of doubts he'd have to do more negotiating than that, but... really, he just doesn't want people in his own personal space. Even if it's just his room at the inn, he still feels like it's off-limits to anyone who doesn't need to be there.]
[ She doesn't push him off; there's a flicker of uncertainty when she notices how warm he still is, but it disappears when he doesn't seem about to set her towel on fire. ]
Forty-eight hours ago I was in Iron City and understood how the world works, and today I woke up in a sex club in another world I don't know anything about. How many surprises am I supposed to be used to at once?
[He'd kind of expected her to back out by now. So the fact that she's willing to stick around is... good. He thinks. She certainly doesn't seem like she's just too scared to tell him no.]
I just mean I've never heard of it. Unless it's in the Midwest or something, I haven't really left New England.
[He also probably couldn't locate Los Angeles on a map, even if he knows what it is.]
Well, we're not New York, but not exactly Peoria, either. If you haven't been west of Philadelphia, though, I guess you could have missed it. Where in New England?
Boston, mostly. Grew up there, moved back about... five years ago? But I was in Connecticut for a bit, New Hampshire, New York. None of it's really exciting, so don't expect any good travel stories.
[ A man who makes fire with his hands and talks casually about fucking demons is nothing but exciting, she's sure.
She pulls her hair out of the neck of her robe, shaking it out, and raises her hands palms out. ] None of my business, though.
[ Then, if he seems ready and amenable, she slips her arm back around his waist and leads the way towards her room. ] Have you been here long? The Peacock?
[Something a little wary enters her expression - expecting her to push for details, and not really knowing what he'll do if she does. But.. she doesn't, so he relaxes, and easily follows her toward her room.]
Five- no, six months. I got here in the tail-end of July. Some people have been here for a few years, though - if they stick around past the first few weeks they tend to be here for a while.
[He hasn't questioned what happens to the people who don't, because that's very much not his problem.]
[ She says this like it's a joke. It is and it isn't. Wishes are for greeting cards and fairy tales, after all; the idea of having one come true is ridiculous.
But then, this place, assuming it's real -- and what's she supposed to do besides assume that it's real? -- has more than a hint of fairy tale about it. If other impossible things happen here, why not wish-granting? ]
Of course not. If anyone actually got their wish, they'd risk someone wishing for this place to stop pulling people in. Or sending everyone home.
[A pause.]
But I've been making some good progress. So I might have something to report back, in a few more months.
[Really, if he keeps at the rate he's going, it should only take him another year or so... assuming he doesn't tank his reputation any more and end up scaring off everyone he could set his sights on.]
[He pauses, studying her hand as if he's going to get new information from it. But, after a moment, he takes it.]
Careful who you make handshake deals with. There's at least two actual demons around, and these are binding contracts with them.
[Or at least, Makoto had been very intent on completing their deal even if Dodger wouldn't have blamed him for backing out. Seems like a reasonable conclusion to draw.]
So - now that we're here. How much of that shit from before do you actually want?
[ Interesting. Maybe it's just that he's so used to demons, one way or another, that he doesn't consider the warning that valuable -- no more consequential than she would consider telling someone to look both ways before crossing a street. She'll take it without pushing, she decides. ]
I don't know if I really want you to cut me, [ she says thoughtfully, waving him into the room. They're in luck: no roommates. The low futons on the floor don't offer anything for her to be tied to, she notes, if Dodger's tastes run that way, but she suspects they'll figure something out. ] Burns, though. And--
[ She reaches for one of his hands, takes it lightly by the wrist, and guides it up to her throat. When she speaks, her voice, low and husky, vibrates against his palm. ]
[Dodger knows Archduke J is easy enough to figure out, but he also knows that Makoto is very easy to pass over and not recognize as a demon. So without their explicit identities, he's really just dooming her to be nervous around anyone who looks vaguely demonic.
He nods along to the limits, while he follows her into the room. No cuts - it seems to be pretty rare to find people who really want to be cut, despite how many freaks he's met. But burns are on the table, and... his hand moves easily with her guidance, letting his fingers rest comfortably over her throat. He can't remember the last time someone actually asked to be choked, and it draws a contented noise out of him. Something akin to a wild beast being placated.]
I do, yeah.
[He thinks a little longer, and his thumb moves idly along her skin.]
What's your take on affection? Do you want me to kiss you while I'm wrecking you, or keep things strictly rough?

[He's not even... going to tell her the details of that throat-fucking, because they're actually more insane than what he already offered up.]
Iron City, though - that's not in the US, is it?
no subject
So, [ she says finally, blinking hard, ] you do sweet-talk everyone that way, I take it.
no subject
...I'm not used to talking to people.
[The Atlas Corporation's go-to recruiter, everybody.]

[ She loops her arm around his waist and steers them towards the changing room, to retrieve her robe. ]
What do you mean, Iron City isn't in the US?

Anyway, if it's a few months down the road, I'll have something by then.

We'll figure something out when we get there. And if you stick around, your card'll probably get me one step closer, so I'll keep that in mind.

The two aren't mutually exclusive.
Do you want to kiss me? Because I'd like that.
