【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
Due to a high volume of check-ins, temporary accommodations have been made in our new inn for all new arrivals. Wildcards are invited to enjoy rest and relaxation while getting to know their fellow inn patrons. Current guests are encouraged to make reservations at the inn for some self-care. Prices are discounted to celebrate the new year.
All patrons have exclusive access to new additions at Crane's Respite and Heron's Retreat. The inn itself also provides a unique experience unlike anything else in the Golden Peacock.
We aim to have all guests moved into their suites as soon as possible. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience! 】

▶ All characters on the TDM are WILDCARDS, which means they have not yet been assigned a card value. Suits will not manifest until characters are accepted into the game.
▶ All TDMs are game canon. This TDM acts as the game's January event.
▶ Current characters may top level on the TDM. Any current characters posting to the TDM should note they are current in their subject header.
▶ The top level directory is for new characters only. We want to make sure new characters are prioritized and receive attention! If you would be interested in a game invitation, you can note that in your comment header. This month we also have an ongoing ATP / EMP where players can connect. Please feel free to utilize this for all of your peafowl needs!
▶ Smut threads that take place on this TDM can be used for rewards. If both parties in the smut thread join the game, you may retroactively apply the character's initial card values to your 52 bank. If one character does not join the game the thread will not be applicable toward rewards (as that character would not have a card value). The character that does join would still receive a small payout for the encounter. Hopefully it was a fun thread regardless!
▶ We ask you to kindly add content warnings to your threads as appropriate.
▶ If you do not currently have permissions and kinks listed in your character’s journal we suggest leaving a note in your top level of any limits or boundaries for other players to reference.
[ When he wheels his way into the dining room on the first day, it's with also with a book in hand—in his case, of course, it's a sketchbook, but in the eyes of the staff member who has temporarily taken over Mehrak's role pushing his chair, it's enough. She makes an immediate pivot, telling Kaveh that she has the perfect dining partner in mind for him, and honestly the architect doesn't mind—at least until he realizes about halfway to the table that said "perfect dining partner" is the same person he's been doing his absolute best to avoid for the past four weeks and change. His spare hand tenses on the arm of the chair, and he starts to babble something about how it's alright, he doesn't necessarily need to dine with anyone—
The staff member completely ignores his protests and wheels him right up to the table in question, whereupon she starts to chirp the same line—about how she's found the perfect dining partner—right at Alhaitham. ]
Hi, [ he says quietly, as his former roommate looks up at him. And then, awkwardly: ] Sorry I haven't been in contact, I—
[ This is a far cry from the treatment Alhaitham is used to receiving from the resort. It's a long way from a cold, wet dungeon crawling with monsters with... explicit tendencies. He finds this change much more tasteful.
Except, of course, how poorly the staff listen.
Alhaitham, much like a cat, does not typically allow his boundaries to be tested. He's seated himself as far away from the fuss of the other guests and their meals and it's abundantly clear that he doesn't wish to be engaged. Unsurprisingly, Alhaitham can sense the approach from his periphery despite his gaze focused on the book in one hand and his mouth opens to decline but when he looks up, it isn't just any unsuspecting stranger they've ushered over. It's Kaveh. The complaints die down and Alhaitham raises an eyebrow in climbing curiosity. The staff have unwittingly captured the one man that has avoided Alhaitham. Interesting.
Any estimation that the avoidance was anything other than intentional is immediately discarded by the incredibly guilty expression Kaveh wears. His gaze flicks back to the page in front of him. ]
No need. I wasn't aware we had any social obligations.
[ Anyone else might find Alhaitham's behavior rude. Kaveh doesn't necessarily disagree with that fact, but at the very least, he's used to talking to the other man when his nose is in a book. So that's not the part of this whole thing that immediately gets under his skin worse than his own discomfort.
No, Kaveh's immediate displeasure comes from Alhaitham stating that he wasn't aware of any social obligations between the two of them, and from the abrupt realization that such a statement brings up in his heart.
Alhaitham appears to be perfectly fine. No hints of suit activation on him at all. It's been long enough that something should be happening to him by now, if indeed he was only relying on Kaveh—
(Which would be his fault, he tries to insist to a suddenly even guiltier brain. Alhaitham should have reached out if he needed help...!)
—but nothing is happening, which means he's been with someone else.
Which...
That's good, right? It's good. He'll be okay here after all.
The waitress appears with some glasses and a jug of water, and Kaveh releases he's just dug crescents so deeply into his lower thigh that there's blood on his nails. ]
sorta-wildcard as discussed~
