【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
We are thrilled to announce that the Golden Peacock will be embracing autumn with a special outing. Current and new guests are invited to join us for a refreshing outdoor experience where participants can unplug, unwind, and connect with nature. During this time, all Watches will be disabled to the most basic functions (texting, calls, checking chip account) in order to encourage guests to disconnect.
Please look forward to two weeks of finding yourself amongst the trees. We hope you enjoy your stay, and have a fan-CAMP-stic time. 】

CAMPING
GETTING OFF THE GRID
As the resort moves into what it claims is autumn, the days grow shorter. The projected sun in the Vale sets in the afternoon, after which a faint chill falls. Then there’s the most excessive transformation of all – a portion of the Vale has transformed into a campground complete with a scenic lake, seemingly overnight. Statues nearby have been dressed up with flannel jackets and suspenders. Folksy banjo fills the air without any discernible source.
A section of the campgrounds have been reserved for tents. These tents vary in size, shape, and supplies. All tents, regardless of quality, are supplied with sex toys and lube. Staff and long-standing guests all agree — pretending to live in the wilderness and 'rough it' for a while is thrilling. This is what the peasants feel like all the time!

HOME ON THE RANGE
Welcome to the Peacock Campgrounds! Nicknamed the Stomping Grounds by long-standing guests. Rustic and right off a sparkling lake, guests will find everything they need to live in the wilderness. Staff have expertly set up fire pits, benches, hammocks, and a wooden shed to act as a tool depository. There's even an outhouse, which is a real novelty to many of the long-standing guests. Do they just... squat over that hole and do their business? How wild!
Unlike previous resort-sponsored excursions, guests are expected to manage without the help of staff. That pile of wood won't be replenished once used; guests will have to go chop down trees and split their own. Food won't magically appear in their tents regardless of rank. Camping is all about living off the land. Though staff make themselves scarce to make the experience feel real, they lurk in the shadows, discreetly providing necessary tools and fixing broken equipment so guests won't struggle too much. It isn't fun if it's real hardship, after all!

ACTIVITIES
TWO WEEKS OF ROUGHING IT
Camping can't be all about survival. Where's the fun in that? Before 'leaving', the staff arrange activities and events for guests to enjoy. A wooden bulletin board outlines times for group hikes, camping experiences, and wilderness delights. Adirondack chairs line the edge of the lake and a few tire swings hang over the water, tied to strong tree branches. For the first week and a half the weather is pleasant and sunny. Perfect for camping.
At night, acoustic guitars and other wooden instruments come out so that guests can make music around the bonfire. Projected stars dapple the night sky, forming various constellations sourced from guest worlds. The moon enters a different phase each night, shining a gentle silver across the campgrounds. Why not pull your sweetheart in and cuddle beneath the night sky? It's so romantic.

HOWLING
CALL OF THE WILD
Temperatures drop drastically at night as the camping excursion nears its end. Nights become so chilly that morning dew frosts over, crunching beneath guest feet. Every day the light and its warmth set a little bit earlier. Staff remain elusive and do not provide warmer blankets or clothes for guests, leaving them to cuddle for warmth or find other ways to sleep comfortably during nightly cold snaps.
The moon hits its apex on the final night of camping. Unlike the other nights, this full moon shines blood red. The Vale stills under this ominous sign, silent. Snowflakes begins to fall, spreading an endless clean sheet across the campgrounds. That reflected pink hue is inescapable.

got a 21 IT ACTUALYL TASTES SO BADDD
Well, call it dramatic flair.
"Can you even die, here...?" His murmur comes out half quizzical, half truly curious. He hadn't had the experience yet, but from the few people who had deigned to share what happens in this strange new world, much of what he should expect to happen is a belief in the making. Still, the spoon, with trepidation, goes down the hatch.
Their words are sharp, but the stranger still seems to impress upon him that it need not be quite so harrowing. How kind, Sunday thinks, right as his tastebuds begin to anticipate the end of existence.
Ah.
"... Please excuse me." It takes a pause, before he murmurs the words. Decorum, it seems, is an aspect that he's loathe to give up. Even if it loses all dignity when you shuffle behind the nearest tree, and...
Oh. Oh dear.
When he returns, at least, he's a little more pale, but his wing feathers are, mercifully, not worse for wear. "Perhaps I should have taken your suggestion..." But nonetheless, wordlessly offers the redhead the can of sardines and corned beef, found somewhere amongst the forestry.
At least someone else didn't have to share the same fate as he did.
how did you manage this Sunday
[ Yet he is not going to offer himself up to testing. Sure enough, though, as soon as Sunday samples his own dish... Cale can't say that he is surprised. ...And then the bird man is not quite dashing off, but still making it pretty clear that the "food" isn't going to. Ahem.
Settle well.
That's when Cale sighs and shakes his head. Immediately he takes all of the supplies. Scrapes out the mess that had been left behind and finds the means to clean it off. Cale's actually in the process of making something at least edible from what's left over by the time that Sunday returns.
...Well he wasn't going to allow someone to starve. ]
You should have. At the very least, if you don't know how to cook, you should have asked someone that does.
baking skill =/= cooking skill ty so much cale u angel
It should be commended, how he'd managed to clean that up so quickly. Only the Aeons knew where the stranger had dumped the solution, more similar to a failed alchemy attempt than anything else.
"... I did not think anyone would." An honest answer to a traveller, "I have no idea how I've gotten here, though my survivalist skills are clearly..." Lacking. In many different ways.
"Thank you, Sir...?" How rude, he hasn't even gotten his name.
people will never believe sunday if he says that
I don't think anyone quite knows how the House managed to bring us here.
[ Well, not that he's heard of anyway. Cale doesn't even know how he transmigrated in the first place. That being the case, he hadn't been unsettled once he had arrived here. To Cale, it had just seemed to be any regular day. ]
Cale. [ He answers, looking up while still working. Tossing and poking at the ingredients as he goes. ] Since you never know what the Resort is likely to become, I would suggest brushing up on different skills.
its true cale!! multitalented...
"... I'm not accustomed to asking." He's not accustomed to anything here, to be perfectly honest. But things were different when you could request for things at the speed of thought-creation. "These skills were simply just not as necessary as others, back where I'm from."
One thing Cale is right about, though, is that there is always the present. So he watches, still, ever-attentive. "Where did you pick it up, from?"
please… he wants to stay low key
So he scrapes what he’s prepared into the tins. ]
I think most people would consider ‘basic cooking lessons’ to always be necessary. You never know when something will happen and you can only rely on what skills you have. [ A shrug ] How would you be able to feed yourself?
[ Cale won’t accept a tin himself. He’s not particularly hungry and has been doing fine keeping himself fed. Instead he crosses his arms over his chest.
It’s not like he can tell the truth. Kim Rok Soo had been an orphan and later worked at a restaurant before the monster attacks. Cale Henituse wouldn’t have any reason to possess these skills, being of noble birth and all. ]
You know, you haven’t given me your name.
he's sooo pookie. also omg hes transmigrated before, no wonder hes so chill lksjdf
Oh, right, his manners.
"Sunday, of the Astral Express." He's just a traveller, really, and a new one to the otherwise friendly crew. It's odd not to identify as the dream master of Penacony instead, but it is a part of himself that he accepts, even if he's not currently holding onto that position any more. "I will... Have to learn. Somehow."
Topaz did mention that there were other amenities, once they had gotten out of this... 'Vale'. "I can only hope these premises have actual working kitchens somewhere else..."
LMFAO yeah. tbh he had been chill when it happened initially
[ Genuinely curious
avid fantasy novel readerbut also just a hint of teasing in there. Cale just leans back a bit. He doesn't realize that there's a slight look of satisfaction at Sunday so readily consuming what had been prepared. It's not that great, but it's likely just desperation from trying what had been purple and bubbling. Anything would be good after that."Astral Express." That sounds more like an organization, doesn't it? Well, Cale won't press. It's better if the young man just eats, really. ]
There are a lot of different places to eat. Some are cheaper than others, but depending on what floor you're on, well. [ Cale shrugs. ] You might not have the ability to cook anything in your own room.
transmigrated ppl be like 'ah shit here we go again' hsdfdsf
The soul didn't necessarily need to eat. He was under no pretense that people didn't conjure their own fantasies, in their private rooms of Penacony - sleeping with anyone they could feasibly manifest in their desires. Just that, well, sex wasn't the main currency.
Either way, he's gratefully consuming what he's given. Beggars can't be choosers, but this is sufficiently nice. "'Floor?' So not all of this is just more boundless forest?" He sounds a lot more relieved than he should. He's not exactly foreign to the idea of the great outdoors, but some people just aren't enthusiasts of it. "If anything, you seem to be in your own element."
more or less? though he's less thrilled about it this time
[ Which is more the point that Cale had been driving at all along. Even if people don't have to eat in a dream or simulation, the body on the outside still needs those things. Muscles atrophy. The body wastes away. That's all that he is referring to. Frankly, Cale's not even certain it's a good thing to be trapped in something like that for too long. The mind might not be able to differentiate between reality and a dream.
He's thinking about that when Sunday asks his own question. Or, rather. Questions, even if some sound like a statement. Cale's lip quirks and he nods. ]
This entire area is really only one small part. There are many floors and varying locations that specialize in one way or another. [ A small shrug. ] As for me, before arriving here I had taken to traveling often. In fact, I hadn't been home in a while.
'this time' HOW MANY TIMES HAS HE GONE THRU IT
Sunday sounds too sure about that answer. After all, that was what he had extended, as an olive branch, once upon a not-too-long-ago time. Some preferred it, some chose to rebel against its inevitability, of a lack of choice.
People could be so complicated.
"It must be humongous... So no one's made it out of here, then?" His eyes glance at the tin in front of him, unfamiliar food, cresting artificial black skies above. In his world, in his dream, the golden hour at least had shooting stars and a night sky that spanned beyond the horizon. In fact, he's not sure if there's a sky at all - more than a roof that keeps them in. "Do you not miss home?"
i mean he's less thrilled about showing up here. he was fine the 1st time
[ Once more Cale shrugs. He supposes that if it meant that his teammates survived, or his parents, or the people that died during every monster attack would be spared... At the same time, though, they are all gone. Being stuck in a dream would only be living with phantoms. Shadows. It wouldn't be them, but figments of his imagination put together.
How could anyone really find peace within an illusion once the smoke and mirrors are taken away? ]
Making it out of here? I don't know, considering I've only been here for maybe two months?
[ Cale hasn't been around for long. Just long enough to get himself mixed up into a few things. Involved with a couple of people.
He very decidedly looks away when asked if he doesn't miss home. ...Cale actually does. He's not entirely sure when he had started to think of himself as Cale rather than Kim Rok Soo, but that's the truth of it. There are people that are his that are waiting for him. ]
It doesn't matter if I do or if I don't. That doesn't change the fact that I'm here and not there.
