【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.

We are thrilled to announce that the Golden Peacock will be embracing autumn with a special outing. Current and new guests are invited to join us for a refreshing outdoor experience where participants can unplug, unwind, and connect with nature. During this time, all Watches will be disabled to the most basic functions (texting, calls, checking chip account) in order to encourage guests to disconnect.

Please look forward to two weeks of finding yourself amongst the trees. We hope you enjoy your stay, and have a fan-CAMP-stic time. 】

CAMPING
GETTING OFF THE GRID
As the resort moves into what it claims is autumn, the days grow shorter. The projected sun in the Vale sets in the afternoon, after which a faint chill falls. Then there’s the most excessive transformation of all – a portion of the Vale has transformed into a campground complete with a scenic lake, seemingly overnight. Statues nearby have been dressed up with flannel jackets and suspenders. Folksy banjo fills the air without any discernible source.

A section of the campgrounds have been reserved for tents. These tents vary in size, shape, and supplies. All tents, regardless of quality, are supplied with sex toys and lube. Staff and long-standing guests all agree — pretending to live in the wilderness and 'rough it' for a while is thrilling. This is what the peasants feel like all the time!
NOT ALL TENTS ARE EQUALHigh-rank guests are allocated spacious and luxurious tents. These elaborate mini-homes come with TVs, beds, heaters, and plenty of supplies. Provided camping gear is high quality, ranging from state of the art flashlights to designer backpacks. It can't quite be considered roughing it in these tents, but glamping is camping too!

Mid-rank guests are allocated moderate tents that comfortably fit up to three guests. These tents come with cots or sleeping bags, as well as standard camping gear to make their time living off the land fairly comfortable. While these tents lack the bells and whistles of the high-rank accommodations, they are more than enough for a comfortable but realistic camping experience.

Low-rank guests are allocated the shabbiest tents. These sagging accommodations can shield one guest comfortably, but that doesn't stop staff from pairing low-ranking guests together in order to save space. Their 'sleeping bags' are a single blanket and hay bale pillow. There are no other included amenities aside from sex toys and a single lantern.

► Last but certainly not least: our Wildcards! All Wildcards have been randomly assigned. Whether they end up in a glamping tent or sleeping beneath a propped up sheet is left to chance. Wildcards also may find themselves waking up beside a current guest or another new arrival.

► Guests that "go camping" will discover that the door connecting the Vale to the rest of the resort has mysteriously vanished. Uh oh! Looks like there's no going back to the comfortable life anytime soon. Don't worry, the door will return when it's time to pack up and head home.
LET'S GET CRAFTY ► New characters still wake up naked save for a robe, as is standard for the Golden Peacock. This round’s robes are flannel gingham to embrace camping and autumn aesthetic. Some of these robes are much shorter than others; watch out that the lake breeze doesn’t reveal more than you wanted.

► Unlike the standard, there are no racks of clothes waiting for new arrivals outside of their tents. You're roughing it out in the woods, remember? Instead of clothing, Wildcards will find an assortment of raw materials to make clothes.

Fabric rolls, hemp, buckets of leaves, leather, and other assorted goods are waiting to be cobbled into something new. The staff have been kind enough to leave some small hunting knives and wooden needles to make crafting a bit easier. Of course, they won't stop anyone that wants to embrace the wild side and strut around naked.
HOME ON THE RANGE
Welcome to the Peacock Campgrounds! Nicknamed the Stomping Grounds by long-standing guests. Rustic and right off a sparkling lake, guests will find everything they need to live in the wilderness. Staff have expertly set up fire pits, benches, hammocks, and a wooden shed to act as a tool depository. There's even an outhouse, which is a real novelty to many of the long-standing guests. Do they just... squat over that hole and do their business? How wild!

Unlike previous resort-sponsored excursions, guests are expected to manage without the help of staff. That pile of wood won't be replenished once used; guests will have to go chop down trees and split their own. Food won't magically appear in their tents regardless of rank. Camping is all about living off the land. Though staff make themselves scarce to make the experience feel real, they lurk in the shadows, discreetly providing necessary tools and fixing broken equipment so guests won't struggle too much. It isn't fun if it's real hardship, after all!
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO COOK?On the first camp morning, guests will find barrels of ingredients and cooking utensils left beside the central fire pit. These barrels are stocked with fruits and vegetables that won't spoil quickly, many of which are seasonal to autumn. They have also been left a few protein options like eggs, jerky, and canned ham. These ingredients are communal and limited. Once they run out, guests will have to hunt and gather in the Vale to collect more.

Guests must prepare their own meals while camping. Not even the high-ranks are given any special treatment on this! While oil and firestarter are included in the initial supply, these too are limited and won't be replenished after use.

► Staff would never let their precious guests go without a sweet treat. A generous supply of hot cocoa and all the fixings for s'mores has been left behind as well. While none of the other food will be replenished, the hot cocoa and s'mores goodies seemingly never run out. A night around a campfire without roasting marshmallows or sipping cocoa would be too cruel to subject guests to.
SUPPLIES RUNNING LOW ► Guests will have to hunt and gather once ingredients dwindle if they want to eat. The wooden shed is home to a selection of tools that can be used to hunt: bows and arrows, hatchets, axes, fishing poles and line, etc. All tools are rudimentary and can break if not taken care of.

► The Vale is lush with wild fruits and vegetables. However, much like in reality, not all vegetation in the Vale is safe to eat. While some berries and mushrooms are consumable, others are toxic or psychedelics. One must also not forget that they're in the Golden Peacock: some unusual plants that grow in the vale may trigger arousal. Watch out that you don't eat something funky by accident!

► Before 'leaving', staff will explain that guests can fish or hunt small game running throughout the Vale. One particularly enthusiastic staff member will suggest guests track down the snoggleboffs, as they're extremely delicious after roasting on an open fire.

ACTIVITIES
TWO WEEKS OF ROUGHING IT
Camping can't be all about survival. Where's the fun in that? Before 'leaving', the staff arrange activities and events for guests to enjoy. A wooden bulletin board outlines times for group hikes, camping experiences, and wilderness delights. Adirondack chairs line the edge of the lake and a few tire swings hang over the water, tied to strong tree branches. For the first week and a half the weather is pleasant and sunny. Perfect for camping.

At night, acoustic guitars and other wooden instruments come out so that guests can make music around the bonfire. Projected stars dapple the night sky, forming various constellations sourced from guest worlds. The moon enters a different phase each night, shining a gentle silver across the campgrounds. Why not pull your sweetheart in and cuddle beneath the night sky? It's so romantic.
IN CAMP ► Guests that don't want a cold shower should make their way over to the shower stalls quickly. These outdoor showers hold very little hot water and run cold after about five minutes. First-come first-serve!

► A wood-chopping competition begins around lunchtime. There are two goals: to split as much wood as possible and looking sexy while doing it. Guests that chop wood unsexily immediately fail! Alternatively, sexiness with a pathetic number of chunks is more acceptable, but still a loss. Those that achieve both goals will instantly win a large payout. Failing to sexily cut wood won’t have any penalties associated with it, and you can always try again tomorrow!

Bear hunting is a popular activity that even the spoiled long-standing guests are getting in on! No, not hunting real bears. That would be insane. Peacock's version of bear hunting involves hunting down bear-like guests and capturing them! Any guest that fits the criteria of big, thick, and strong may potentially be assigned the role of bear. Hunters who manage to tie up, handcuff, net, or otherwise 'capture' a 'bear' will instantly receive a large payout.
THE LAKE ► This sparkling lake is rich with fish. Enjoy sitting back on the long pier with a fishing rod or take one of the wooden boats out for a row around the lake. It's also safe to swim in, for guests that would like to take a dip and rinse off the sweat of camp living! Don't mind the random swim trunks or drink umbrellas that pop up now and then. This water is definitely fresh and not recycled from the summer beach extravaganza.

► Guests that do decide to take a dip may encounter a familiar friend. Fernando the tentacle monster is camping too! This randy tentacle monster is as horny as ever, eager to embrace guests and stick slippery tentacles into any reachable orifice.

► Once the sun goes down, many of the long-standing guests strip off their shoddily crafted clothes and sprint into the water for skinny dipping by moonlight! What's a camping excursion without a lake-side orgy? The best way to drown out those erotic moans from the lake is to head to the central fire pit and join in on some campfire songs.
OUTSIDE CAMP ► Those that head out of camp for a hike or hunt can enjoy any of the Vale's usual wonders. With autumn, shiny apples dangle from the trees and pumpkins pepper beneath their protruding roots. Along with autumnal fruits and vegetables, canned beef and ham have been mysteriously left in pockets close to the campgrounds. A little act of kindness from the staff; not everyone is cut out to hunt their own game!

► For those interested in hunting down some fresh game, walking around the forest in the morning may come with a stroke of luck. Strange little creatures the size of an adult's fist are active during this time. These hairy beasts come in brown and white, and screech, "Scrun scrun screeee!" when agitated.

Yes, these are the alleged snoggleboffs! Don't feel bad about hunting them, they're an invasive species that are unfriendly and eager to steal from unsuspecting guests. Their main strength is their speed, but once caught, they don't put up much of a fight.

► Guests that explore deep into the Vale may find a dark cave mouth that leads downward into a damp chamber. The ceiling glitters with stalactites and, along the wall, they'll find a horizontal crease with what seems to be... hair? If touched, this crease will creak open, revealing a large eye that darts back and forth before focusing on whoever woke it. Black pupils and iris bleed into one endless abyss.

Those that gaze directly into the eye will freeze. Their mind will remain active while their body locks in place, not unlike sleep paralysis. This trance will break once the eye blinks, which it will do after some time... but it can also be forced into blinking by force if there's someone who hasn't made eye-contact around to help. Frozen guests will be overwhelmed with the fear of abandonment for the duration of their paralysis. This fear will fade after the connection is broken, as if it wasn't their fear at all.

Like a regular eye, dirt or debris can force a blink. If this route is taken, the eye will go bloodshot and shut, refusing to open again. Any guest that inflicts damage to the eye may find that their suite, upon return, has been trashed. As if someone or something threw a big tantrum in there while they were gone. Wonder why that happened...?

HOWLING
CALL OF THE WILD
Temperatures drop drastically at night as the camping excursion nears its end. Nights become so chilly that morning dew frosts over, crunching beneath guest feet. Every day the light and its warmth set a little bit earlier. Staff remain elusive and do not provide warmer blankets or clothes for guests, leaving them to cuddle for warmth or find other ways to sleep comfortably during nightly cold snaps.

The moon hits its apex on the final night of camping. Unlike the other nights, this full moon shines blood red. The Vale stills under this ominous sign, silent. Snowflakes begins to fall, spreading an endless clean sheet across the campgrounds. That reflected pink hue is inescapable.
THE WEATHER TURNSAlong with chilly nights, the last few days of camping feature inclement weather conditions. Clouds overtake the sun and rain falls, alternating between light mist and heavy downpour.

Winds pick up, with speeds threatening to whip away the less stable tents. Guests that don't hunker down and add additional support to their tents may end up chasing them into the storm. Other loose items around the campgrounds may end up blown away as well.
BLOOD MOON ► Wild instinct rises with the blood moon. As crimson moonlight beckons, some guests may begin to feel ... strange. As if they need to claw their true selves free. Those that answer the call to bathe in the light of the blood moon will undergo a transformation.

► Basking in the light of the blood moon triggers a were-transformation. While the standard were that the blood moon inspires is the classic werewolf, guests may transform into any kind of were. Along with hybrid transformation, the blood moon stirs mating and sex impulses in these new weres. Remaining humans are at risk of being eaten... in the sexy way.

Transformation into a were is not mandatory. Other guests may step into the blood moon's light and not experience any kind of transformation or impulse. These guests are now actors in a sexy horror scene, given the task of surviving the night surrounded by monsters! At least they're sexy monsters? Giving in and fucking on the wild side may be more fun.
PACKING UP ► After the crazy weather and horny werewolves, the staff judge that it's high time to wrap this excursion up. Guests will once again openly see these diligent workers the morning after the blood moon. They come flooding into the site with clothing, snacks, and other comforts while praising everyone for surviving for so long without the resort's usual luxuries.

► A first aid tent and cleaning station are swiftly erected. All guests that volunteer to treat injuries sustained over the course of the camping experience or help clean up the site will be compensated with a large payout.

Every guest that participated in the camping event, regardless of whether they help wrap things up, will be issued a spa voucher. Go relax, you've earned some pampering after all of that hard living!

[Unless Megumi's got a pig in there to go hunting for root vegetables and truffles, he's gonna be shoving meat down his throat during this stupid camping excursion. Bakugo indicates another knife resting on the edge of the firepit. A host of stones cobbled together in circle and forced into secure locks, suggesting he created it himself. Spent the majority of the first day making sure his campground was suitable for living and ready to tackle whatever he needed it to weather.]

Cut everything open or in half length ways. There's a cutting board on the side of the tent if you wanna slice it into strips. [Not the modern one in the tent's little kitchenette, but a rustic thing he carved out of a log.] Make sure you clean and scrub the insides and outsides to get all the crap out of it. [sometimes literally sorry] We can cook it in a stew, fry it, or dry it.

[personal profile] shadowdogs 2025-09-18 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[He does have an ox... but it can't find truffles. It's a big guy, who likes charging through things. And he can't summon it yet, with his cursed energy depleted the way it is. So perhaps, one day, he'll be able to summon it and destroy the Hotel?

He brings the buckets to the lake and then returns for the cutting board. It doesn't matter to him what kind it is; it's a useful thing.

It takes Megumi more time than usual to clean everything; aside from doing this for the first time ever, he's being very meticulous about it. But- it yields pretty good results regardless. Everything's properly washed, cleaned, cut up and placed in the clean bucket that he brings back to Bakugo.]

I think these are smoked most of the time, [he says, placing the bucket down. He then pauses, frowning,] Are there predators in this forest? [The blood of this buck and smell of fresh meat might lure them in if there are.]
blastedass: by blastedass @ dreamwidth (💥 Touch of death.)

[personal profile] blastedass 2025-09-18 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[Not much help with that then, huh. If Megumi wants to destroy the hotel, Bakugo will be right there beside him, yelling about how he destroyed more than him and faster! But for now, they're both stuck here playing camper in the woods and that means cleaning the meat for dinner. So get to it, Uni Hair.

While Megumi's at the water, Bakugo focuses on carving out the venison. Handheld things like legs and ribs are snapped free. The ribs he trims, then drops into the pot to start boiling. The legs he clears along the bone joints, drops the trimmings into the pot, and uses the bones as "holders" to stake near the fire to cook. They don't really have spices or herbs, so this is raw cooking.

Larger chunks of meat are getting skewered on a makeshift spit. Trying to cook the entire thing all at once via the pot and open flame + heat so they don't have to deal with trying to store it through the night. Guess some of this is getting smoked too.

Bakugo glances up when Megumi returns with what amounts to tripe. Offal tripe. The blonde looks a horror movie, splattered with blood and coated along his arms and lap.]

Not usually. The resort doesn't have wolves or lions in the Vale normally. [Key were there is "usually" since this is a new event.] If any show up, we'll eat them too.
shadowdogs: (2)

[personal profile] shadowdogs 2025-09-18 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's done one hell of a good job carving up the buck. Megumi's honestly impressed. The things that are being roasted on skewers actually smell good. He might have an appetite for it... after a while, when the smell of blood washes off somewhat. Right now, he's fine with not eating anything for a while.]

I see. Still... [he gives Bakugo a worried glance over,] You can go wash up. Just in case. [If he were anyone else, he'd point out that he looks as if he went through a summoning ritual after being beaten half to death.] I'll watch the fire and the pot.

[And clean up around the campfire- the blood and whatever's left from junk and bones. If the Vale suddenly decides they need to be challenged to protect their food, well, he has a wolf to retaliate. Megumi's pretty reliable guy.]
blastedass: by blastedass @ dreamwidth (💥 Enough of this shit.)

[personal profile] blastedass 2025-09-18 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[Unfortunately the skewers are, like other things, rustic wood carved. He did his best to clean them as he shaped them, so don't bitch at him later if there's a splinter or some fleck of bark stuck in the meat. Get ready to trade the scent of blood for the cling of smoke. Bakugo isn't planning on eating for another half hour at least.]

Fine. He can have the rest if he wants.

[Megumi's wolf, if he wants to pick it clean or gnaw the bones. He knows the guy said the wolf doesn't eat. Does he trust him completely? Not really. Could be showing off or trying to appear less gruesome. Bakugo heads for the lake, keeping within sight of his camp and new companion for now. Won't take him long to scrub off the blood from his arms and clothes, even the latter's gonna stain. They don't have a host of clothes to trade out here, so he'll make do with what they've got. Like hell is he gonna rough it with fucking leaves and sticks...

With the deer, he and Megumi have enough two or three days comfortably. That's without adding vegetables or fruit.]
shadowdogs: (3)

why are they... oddly domestic?

[personal profile] shadowdogs 2025-09-18 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's not dumb to blame him for something like that. He's happy that they will have enough food to push through the time they have to spend here.]

The Divine Dog doesn't eat, [he repeats, and starts cleaning up the camping place. He still summons it, just in case there are animals drawn to blood, and the dog, massive as it is, finds a vantage point on one of the rare rocks nearby, and lies down, surveying the surroundings while Megumi works.

There's not much he can do without a proper shovel to clean up the blood, but he does his best to cover it up with fresh soil. By the time he's done, the place does not look like they just butchered an animal here. He's crouched by the fire, watching it absent-mindedly when Bakugo returns, poking it here and there and adding sticks and firewood to it.]

because meg's calm and quiet and baku pretends he's calm and quiet

[personal profile] blastedass 2025-09-18 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[Crimson washes away into the water, dissipating in an attractive float to any aqua predators. He hasn't seen anything of the sort here, but won't put it past the resort to think up something nasty just to fuck with them. Piece of crap bird...

Yeah, yeah. Doesn't eat. So Megumi says. Dog's still a dog and if dog wants to mess with the bones, dog can mess with bones. It probably still wags its tail and gets happy when people pet it, so why the hell wouldn't it opt to gnaw on down time? Whatever, Megumi's summon. He finishes washing and chest the rest of himself for any missed spots. Nope. Made sure to keep his feet clear so he didn't have to wash blood off his shoes.

Bakugo glances around the campsite, noting the covered up blood and buried bones. Megumi made a proper grave. At least he kept the slaughter in a general area when he was carving it up rather than slinging it all over the fucking place. Something might come digging shit up tonight if it wasn't deep enough. Just means they'll be eating whatever messes with them.]

What's the last thing you remember from your home?

[Yes, he does ask this question to each newcomer.]
shadowdogs: (5)

[personal profile] shadowdogs 2025-09-18 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[Megumi's appreciative that the blood wasn't all over the place during his clean up. It would've taken him way longer to put the place back in order. This way, it was done relatively fast, and they can take a break.

The Dog lifts its head from where it was resting it on its paws, when Bakugo returns, giving him a very long, inquisitive look, then settles back down, ears high and alert. Megumi looks at Bakugo when he asks the question, then back at the fire.

The last thing... Now, with nothing to do, as always, memories trickle back. He's been putting them aside to "deal" with it ever since he woke up, but there's no running from it.

The last thing... he remembers summoning Mahoraga. He was sure that when the ritual concluded, he would be dead. But he wasn't. Which is an immense problem in itself that he needs to deal with at some point.]

...Hospital. I think. We were on a mission in Shibuya that went horribly wrong. Someone gave me a briefing of what happened after I got incapacitated, and then- I think I passed out. [From pain. Physical and emotional. All the notices about Gojo, Nanami, Itadori's reinstated order of execution... He has to go back at any cost and stop it. It's his fault, after all.]

[Should've set the rabbits to work on it. They'd bury the blood and bones deep and end up looking like something out of a B-grade terror flick about rabid rabbits eating deer. Or something stupid like that.

Tch. Wet clothes. He doesn't have the luxury of a hot shower and a change into clean dry ones. They only have a few resources here and he's not gonna waste them on gradual comfort. He's dealt with worse than this.

Is this piece of meat done? Nope. Kept somewhat further from the fire than the others, he uses it as a tester. Other pieces continue to boil in the pot, others smoke outside it, and others fry above the flames. Less than attracting wild animals from the woods, it might end up attracting over guests. Buncha greedy extras who didn't do shit to help get the meal.]

Ah. [Makes no damn sense to him. He only wanted to know if Megumi remembered.] When you leave this shithole, you'll wake up where you left off. Your time here means shit to your world. [Consider his life "paused" for him.]

[personal profile] shadowdogs 2025-09-19 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[He doesn't use his shikigami for everything! ...also, he didn't think about it. The task was mundane enough that he thought cleaning up the place himself would be enough. Besides! They have his dog sitting around, they'll be fineee.

If the smell of food drags other people in, Megumi too won't be too happy to share it with them, unless they share something in return (or it's someone he knows, then he'd share his own part, not Bakugo's, it's not fair). But, for now, it's just them in the camp.]

That's... [that sounds too good to be true. Time won't pass home while he's here?] That's very weird. I've never heard of something that can pause the flow of time completely.

[It is, admittedly, a good thing. He'd hate being stuck here, frolicking, while people at home have to deal with all sorts of crap.]

[Uh-huh. If they ever get down to talking about their powers, Bakugo's gonna throw Megumi through the wringer. He's a closet nerd about abilities and he likes stretching people's thoughts about their powers. Half of it's cause he can, half of it's cause he wants to make sure they're at full strength before they end up sparring. Still, Megumi deciding to clean up by himself instead of tasking his rabbits on it while he kicks back... He can respect that.

Hell no. No one else is getting any of this unless they're in dire straights. (This is a lie. He's a hero. He won't let people starve.) But a lot of the guests are high ranks by now, so there's bound to be a good number for the lower ranks to share with.]

Who the fuck's heard of an inter-dimensional sex resort? [He seems to say something, but catches himself and swallows the comment down. Previous understanding got shaken a little, so he's re-figuring things.]

This place can kidnap people from any world, dimension, time, and hold them here without affecting the worlds they come from. [And Megumi's gonna go slack jaw over it having some time control? Please. It's a fucking parlor trick by now.]
shadowdogs: (90)

[personal profile] shadowdogs 2025-09-20 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
[It would be an interesting showdown. He's only ever trained with a few chosen people who can withstand his technique (Gojo, Maki), but he wouldn't hold back if he saw that Bakugo was determined to go all out.

Megumi is not ranked (yet), so he's appreciative of the chance to go hunting with someone who actually knows what they are doing.]

You have a point, [he has to agree. But come on, man, time stop? Just- stop everything and fix the consequences, get to people you usually wouldn't be able to.]

It feels like a waste of power on something like this. [He adds some more wood to the fire and goes to sit down on one of the rocks, next to his dog. The Divine Dog ends up resting its head on Megumi's shoulder.] I'd like to know how they do it.
blastedass: by bokunoicons @ tumblr (💥 Hmph around the corner.)

[He won't let anyone look down on him or hold back. Bakugo will take any challenger on with his full strength! (Unless they suck.) There's a training facility in the resort he frequents. He'll show Megumi it once they get out of this stupid camping trip.

Figuring the guy's new, he's already decided to let him stay in his tent. Plenty of room, no one else is coming, sending him back to the shitty accommodations the resort likely gave him would make him feel like dirt. The guy knows how to hunt and work. He's quiet. Pretty good partner to have on a forced roughing it.]

Che. No shit. [His voice dips into bitterness as he pulls one of the pieces of meat from the fire. A quick knock with the back of his knuckle and he passes the skewer to Megumi. It's done, cooked through and hot. They'll look for vegetables tomorrow.]

This place won't give away hints like that. Too many people here would use it to fight back. [Most people don' like being kidnapped and imprisoned.]
shadowdogs: (69)

[personal profile] shadowdogs 2025-09-20 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[With the feeling that his powers aren't stable enough, training at the facility in the resort should be a good way to try to get things in order.

He accepts the offered skewer- it smells good and it looks properly grilled over the fire. After blowing on it for a second, he takes a bite, then nods. It's good- he's never had meat like this before (this fresh, from a recent hunt).]

It's tasty. Thanks.

[Then nods,]

Unless you're a sorcerer, revealing one's hand and techniques has little to no merit to them. [Even sorcerers, sometimes, don't do that binding vow, regardless of the power amplification.] Afraid of the rebellion, huh?

Are there a lot of powerful people around?
blastedass: by bokunoicons @ tumblr (💥 This is his version of decent.)

[personal profile] blastedass 2025-09-20 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[They can do that once they're out of the literal woods. Bakugo's already discovered the resort removed the door back into the casino; they're stuck here until the damn thing decides to open up again. He'll be interested to show Megumi the training room and the obstacle courses he created within. See if this guy can even get close to reaching his personal records, heh. Doubtful.

Bakugo bites into his own skewer, hot juice leaking around the cooked meat. Sucks they didn't have anything to spice it up with, but in the wilderness, food's food. He wasn't gonna hunt herbs as the sun goes down.]

Huh? Your world has an advantage if you tell people? [Some heroes blatantly explain and display their Quirks, hoping to intimidate their opponents before a fight breaks out. Bakugo's not shy about displaying his own with threatening bursts. Other Quirks are kept secret to keep the hero's power as safe and overwhelming as possible. One or All and New Order were government secrets.]

Probably. We're basically batteries here. [Gross as it is to admit.] Aa. As long as your powers don't come from external weapons, you get to keep them.

[Or most of them.]

[Megumi was trained by the one of the best sorcerers that ever lived in modern day. Only recently he's started to appreciate properly every single lesson taught to him by his guardian. Megumi will be an annoying piece of shit to fight against.]

Yes. Well, it's an advantage for jujutsu sorcerers. They are called "binding vows". You limit your powers or put yourself at risk with one part of the vow, but when you fulfill the other part, your powers get exponentially stronger.

Like "Revealing one's hand": you reveal the way your technique works to your opponent- a risk- and in return, you get a significant boost in your cursed energy and technique's power. It's the most common one sorcerers use, but there are many others.

[Huh. So Megumi is lucky that he's been born with these powers because he gets to keep them here.]

...I think I'd go crazy without my powers, [he admits, turning his head to look at the Divine Dog, who is leisurely checking out the surroundings.]

[Good. He likes fighting annoying pieces of shit. Who the hell is gonna get stronger fighting someone they can beat easily every single time? He wants to earn his victories against strong opponents, stand over them and crow with his undisputed victory clenched in his dripping hand! ... Yeah, he'll look forward to it.]

A trade off gamble. [Revealing your hand to the opponent, putting yourself at a disadvantage, yet in exchange, increasing your own power, putting yourself at an advantage. The opponent knows what to be on the lookout for, but it doesn't matter if they know or prepare when your attack blows them over completely. Damn, that's kinda cool.]

How detailed do you have to get? [Simply telling someone you can summon animal shinigami from your shadow isn't the same as describing how many, what kind, their size, and the number you can pull at once...

Exactly. Bakugo's Quirk is likewise biological and so he gets to keep them. Innate skills like magic or even superpowers gained by some external event are still retained. It's mostly the weapons the hotel-- IRONICALLY --has a fucking issue with.]

Uh-huh. Dunno what this place is thinking, letting some people keep their abilities and taking others' away.

[...Megumi was trained by the "Sorcerer who unbalanced the World", so it will be more than just a challenge. Even when he knows that Megumi can summon things.

Also yes, binding vows can be very cool and very useful, especially if you make some that can pop off in clutch times.]

The more you reveal, the stronger the amplifier becomes. [The single most notable person who uses this kind of vow is Nanami. One can barely tell if Megumi is using it due to the nature of his inherited Ten Shadows. Nanami, who doesn't have inherited techniques, becomes close to unstopable when the binding vow kicks in. That being said... sometimes it's not enough... anyway-]

Hmm. I suppose it cannot fully interfere with our biological makeup. Items can be easily disabled, but you can dampen one's inherited abilities only so much. [It resists naturally, if he has to guess. With Gojo here, he's surprised his Limitless didn't make this place fold in on itself. Then again, it's young Gojo, so maybe he's not experienced in using it.]

[He's not expecting a quick KO unless the guy sucks at physical combat. Even thought Megumi's a summoner, he doesn't seem like a waif. Bakugo's already formed a few ideas on how to handle him, but they're caveated by those unknown elements.

Plus if the guy can come up with random power-ups with those binding vows... But even those will strangle him if he uses too many. Unless he's a lawyer with a silver tongue.]

You might wanna make sure that skill works here. [Already Megumi mentioned his powers are restricted. The hotel might have stripped him of binding vows entirely because it's a fucking shithead. And has issues with people who can get creative with their powers. A friend of his mentioned he knew someone who could warp reality in their homeworld. Guess which power got axed on the kidnap?]

Che. I don't think anything's outside this stupid bird's abilities. [As loathe as he is to give the praise.] If he doesn't want a power coming over, it's not coming over.

[Binding vows are more complicated than making them up on the spot just for a quick power up; but he won't explain the intricacy of it. Not until he actually needs to do it.]

I will. [His powers are restricted, mostly because the cursed energy within him keeps fluctuating from the amount he usually has, where he can summon both his domain and Mahoraga, to such low levels where summoning a rabbit feels like a major task.]

Is there anything else worth noting this 'bird' can do? [He has to be prepared for anything.]

[He might not need to do it for a while, but if they train together, Bakugo will ask about it. His own Quirk is ironically straightforward and easy to understand, but his training with it and how he applies it makes for a very versatile skill.

Megumi says he'll check without taking the obvious bait to do so right this instant. Bakugo ignores it and pulls some meat from the cooking pot via a skewer. Not done. But the pieces cooking over the fire are, so he blows on one and bites the chunk from the skewer.]

Che. It can manipulate reality within the resort. I'm not gonna list all the shit it's done. [Megumi can either ask someone else to waste their time doing so or use his imagination to what "reality warping" all entails.]

If you don't play its game, it'll eventually send you back home.

[He probably would've checked all of his skills right off the bat, but to be fair, he's still feeling sore from being in the battle before ending up here. His back still burns from slashes, and his side throbs where that crazy guy stabbed him. He's happy he can summon his Divine Dog without much trouble- but to be fair, he has had the divine dogs since he first woke up to the ability as a kid. At this point, summoning Black is like breathing to Megumi.]

The more I hear about this manipulation of the reality within Hotel, the more it reminds me of the Domains sorcerers can do, [he stops eating to look around the place. If it's anything similar, well... until the person casting it decides to break it, they are stuck in here. Megumi has his own Domain he can summon to counter this one, but he can feel the capacity of his cursed energy will never allow it.]

Send me back? [There's a way back?]

[Megumi's not the first one who took time to check everything. Bakugo couldn't let loose as completely as he wanted for a few days, stunted by this place's hazy leftovers from his kidnapping. He had to work his way back up over the first week or so. To say nothing of the injuries his body had been forced to fast-recover from. Can't encourage someone to go around having sex when they're bleeding all over the damn place and buckling on their feet near death, right?]

Most people have something similar in their worlds. [Whether it's an actual ability or some facet of a make believe story. There's only one Quirk in Bakugo's world which can actually rewrite reality, but she passed away almost about two weeks ago. From the point he'd been stolen from. Anything else was fantasy in comic books and movies. So it's not had to imagine.]

Aa. If you don't play the house's game, you'll start turning into stone. Once you're completely petrified, you're dead and sent back home. This place isn't gonna waste its resources on someone who won't do what it wants.

[It'd rather capture someone else who'll play along and give it the sustenance it needs/wants.]

[There are probably some kinks that utilize fights, blood and stuff, but Megumi isn't one to endorse them (yet?). So no, bleeding all over the place is not fascinating, only worrying.]

Is that so? [Now he's curious and wants to meet these people so he can compare their ability to his. His own domain isn't fully developed (it is a recent thing), but it's more than enough to disrupt things. Seeing other stuff might help him help develop the rest of his domain when he goes back home.]

Are there people who purposely turned into stone?

[He's... stubborn enough to be the first one, to be fair, despite how much it hurts- he almost died so feeling is familiar.]

[There are. Already had a damn event involving them. Winner fucks the loser, the bloodier the better, surrounded by a bunch of blood-thirsty violence addicts calling for the next match. It was completely fucked up.]

Uh-huh. [Bakugo doesn't know anyone who has the ability in the resort, though he knows one or two people who do. Hasn't really bothered reaching out to make a connection. Mostly because he knows their results have been a whopping failure. If Megumi mentions his plans, Bakugo's going to caution him about disrupting the resort... in certain ways.]

Aa. I've never met any, but some people don't give a shit enough to stick around. [They simply refuse to play the game and sooner or later, bye. Not a good match for the place.] Every other month, new people get brought in.

[Like Megumi here.] Some of them stay, some are sent back home.
