【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
We are thrilled to announce that the Golden Peacock will be embracing autumn with a special outing. Current and new guests are invited to join us for a refreshing outdoor experience where participants can unplug, unwind, and connect with nature. During this time, all Watches will be disabled to the most basic functions (texting, calls, checking chip account) in order to encourage guests to disconnect.
Please look forward to two weeks of finding yourself amongst the trees. We hope you enjoy your stay, and have a fan-CAMP-stic time. 】

CAMPING
GETTING OFF THE GRID
As the resort moves into what it claims is autumn, the days grow shorter. The projected sun in the Vale sets in the afternoon, after which a faint chill falls. Then there’s the most excessive transformation of all – a portion of the Vale has transformed into a campground complete with a scenic lake, seemingly overnight. Statues nearby have been dressed up with flannel jackets and suspenders. Folksy banjo fills the air without any discernible source.
A section of the campgrounds have been reserved for tents. These tents vary in size, shape, and supplies. All tents, regardless of quality, are supplied with sex toys and lube. Staff and long-standing guests all agree — pretending to live in the wilderness and 'rough it' for a while is thrilling. This is what the peasants feel like all the time!

HOME ON THE RANGE
Welcome to the Peacock Campgrounds! Nicknamed the Stomping Grounds by long-standing guests. Rustic and right off a sparkling lake, guests will find everything they need to live in the wilderness. Staff have expertly set up fire pits, benches, hammocks, and a wooden shed to act as a tool depository. There's even an outhouse, which is a real novelty to many of the long-standing guests. Do they just... squat over that hole and do their business? How wild!
Unlike previous resort-sponsored excursions, guests are expected to manage without the help of staff. That pile of wood won't be replenished once used; guests will have to go chop down trees and split their own. Food won't magically appear in their tents regardless of rank. Camping is all about living off the land. Though staff make themselves scarce to make the experience feel real, they lurk in the shadows, discreetly providing necessary tools and fixing broken equipment so guests won't struggle too much. It isn't fun if it's real hardship, after all!

ACTIVITIES
TWO WEEKS OF ROUGHING IT
Camping can't be all about survival. Where's the fun in that? Before 'leaving', the staff arrange activities and events for guests to enjoy. A wooden bulletin board outlines times for group hikes, camping experiences, and wilderness delights. Adirondack chairs line the edge of the lake and a few tire swings hang over the water, tied to strong tree branches. For the first week and a half the weather is pleasant and sunny. Perfect for camping.
At night, acoustic guitars and other wooden instruments come out so that guests can make music around the bonfire. Projected stars dapple the night sky, forming various constellations sourced from guest worlds. The moon enters a different phase each night, shining a gentle silver across the campgrounds. Why not pull your sweetheart in and cuddle beneath the night sky? It's so romantic.

HOWLING
CALL OF THE WILD
Temperatures drop drastically at night as the camping excursion nears its end. Nights become so chilly that morning dew frosts over, crunching beneath guest feet. Every day the light and its warmth set a little bit earlier. Staff remain elusive and do not provide warmer blankets or clothes for guests, leaving them to cuddle for warmth or find other ways to sleep comfortably during nightly cold snaps.
The moon hits its apex on the final night of camping. Unlike the other nights, this full moon shines blood red. The Vale stills under this ominous sign, silent. Snowflakes begins to fall, spreading an endless clean sheet across the campgrounds. That reflected pink hue is inescapable.

Cut everything open or in half length ways. There's a cutting board on the side of the tent if you wanna slice it into strips. [Not the modern one in the tent's little kitchenette, but a rustic thing he carved out of a log.] Make sure you clean and scrub the insides and outsides to get all the crap out of it. [
sometimes literally sorry] We can cook it in a stew, fry it, or dry it.no subject
He brings the buckets to the lake and then returns for the cutting board. It doesn't matter to him what kind it is; it's a useful thing.
It takes Megumi more time than usual to clean everything; aside from doing this for the first time ever, he's being very meticulous about it. But- it yields pretty good results regardless. Everything's properly washed, cleaned, cut up and placed in the clean bucket that he brings back to Bakugo.]
I think these are smoked most of the time, [he says, placing the bucket down. He then pauses, frowning,] Are there predators in this forest? [The blood of this buck and smell of fresh meat might lure them in if there are.]
no subject
While Megumi's at the water, Bakugo focuses on carving out the venison. Handheld things like legs and ribs are snapped free. The ribs he trims, then drops into the pot to start boiling. The legs he clears along the bone joints, drops the trimmings into the pot, and uses the bones as "holders" to stake near the fire to cook. They don't really have spices or herbs, so this is raw cooking.
Larger chunks of meat are getting skewered on a makeshift spit. Trying to cook the entire thing all at once via the pot and open flame + heat so they don't have to deal with trying to store it through the night. Guess some of this is getting smoked too.
Bakugo glances up when Megumi returns with what amounts to tripe. Offal tripe. The blonde looks a horror movie, splattered with blood and coated along his arms and lap.]
Not usually. The resort doesn't have wolves or lions in the Vale normally. [Key were there is "usually" since this is a new event.] If any show up, we'll eat them too.
no subject
I see. Still... [he gives Bakugo a worried glance over,] You can go wash up. Just in case. [If he were anyone else, he'd point out that he looks as if he went through a summoning ritual after being beaten half to death.] I'll watch the fire and the pot.
[And clean up around the campfire- the blood and whatever's left from junk and bones. If the Vale suddenly decides they need to be challenged to protect their food, well, he has a wolf to retaliate. Megumi's pretty reliable guy.]
no subject
Fine. He can have the rest if he wants.
[Megumi's wolf, if he wants to pick it clean or gnaw the bones. He knows the guy said the wolf doesn't eat. Does he trust him completely? Not really. Could be showing off or trying to appear less gruesome. Bakugo heads for the lake, keeping within sight of his camp and new companion for now. Won't take him long to scrub off the blood from his arms and clothes, even the latter's gonna stain. They don't have a host of clothes to trade out here, so he'll make do with what they've got. Like hell is he gonna rough it with fucking leaves and sticks...
With the deer, he and Megumi have enough two or three days comfortably. That's without adding vegetables or fruit.]
why are they... oddly domestic?
The Divine Dog doesn't eat, [he repeats, and starts cleaning up the camping place. He still summons it, just in case there are animals drawn to blood, and the dog, massive as it is, finds a vantage point on one of the rare rocks nearby, and lies down, surveying the surroundings while Megumi works.
There's not much he can do without a proper shovel to clean up the blood, but he does his best to cover it up with fresh soil. By the time he's done, the place does not look like they just butchered an animal here. He's crouched by the fire, watching it absent-mindedly when Bakugo returns, poking it here and there and adding sticks and firewood to it.]
because meg's calm and quiet and baku pretends he's calm and quiet
Yeah, yeah. Doesn't eat. So Megumi says. Dog's still a dog and if dog wants to mess with the bones, dog can mess with bones. It probably still wags its tail and gets happy when people pet it, so why the hell wouldn't it opt to gnaw on down time? Whatever, Megumi's summon. He finishes washing and chest the rest of himself for any missed spots. Nope. Made sure to keep his feet clear so he didn't have to wash blood off his shoes.
Bakugo glances around the campsite, noting the covered up blood and buried bones. Megumi made a proper grave. At least he kept the slaughter in a general area when he was carving it up rather than slinging it all over the fucking place. Something might come digging shit up tonight if it wasn't deep enough. Just means they'll be eating whatever messes with them.]
What's the last thing you remember from your home?
[Yes, he does ask this question to each newcomer.]
no subject
The Dog lifts its head from where it was resting it on its paws, when Bakugo returns, giving him a very long, inquisitive look, then settles back down, ears high and alert. Megumi looks at Bakugo when he asks the question, then back at the fire.
The last thing... Now, with nothing to do, as always, memories trickle back. He's been putting them aside to "deal" with it ever since he woke up, but there's no running from it.
The last thing... he remembers summoning Mahoraga. He was sure that when the ritual concluded, he would be dead. But he wasn't. Which is an immense problem in itself that he needs to deal with at some point.]
...Hospital. I think. We were on a mission in Shibuya that went horribly wrong. Someone gave me a briefing of what happened after I got incapacitated, and then- I think I passed out. [From pain. Physical and emotional. All the notices about Gojo, Nanami, Itadori's reinstated order of execution... He has to go back at any cost and stop it. It's his fault, after all.]
no subject
Tch. Wet clothes. He doesn't have the luxury of a hot shower and a change into clean dry ones. They only have a few resources here and he's not gonna waste them on gradual comfort. He's dealt with worse than this.
Is this piece of meat done? Nope. Kept somewhat further from the fire than the others, he uses it as a tester. Other pieces continue to boil in the pot, others smoke outside it, and others fry above the flames. Less than attracting wild animals from the woods, it might end up attracting over guests. Buncha greedy extras who didn't do shit to help get the meal.]
Ah. [Makes no damn sense to him. He only wanted to know if Megumi remembered.] When you leave this shithole, you'll wake up where you left off. Your time here means shit to your world. [Consider his life "paused" for him.]
no subject
If the smell of food drags other people in, Megumi too won't be too happy to share it with them, unless they share something in return (or it's someone he knows, then he'd share his own part, not Bakugo's, it's not fair). But, for now, it's just them in the camp.]
That's... [that sounds too good to be true. Time won't pass home while he's here?] That's very weird. I've never heard of something that can pause the flow of time completely.
[It is, admittedly, a good thing. He'd hate being stuck here, frolicking, while people at home have to deal with all sorts of crap.]
no subject
Hell no. No one else is getting any of this unless they're in dire straights. (This is a lie. He's a hero. He won't let people starve.) But a lot of the guests are high ranks by now, so there's bound to be a good number for the lower ranks to share with.]
Who the fuck's heard of an inter-dimensional sex resort? [He seems to say something, but catches himself and swallows the comment down. Previous understanding got shaken a little, so he's re-figuring things.]
This place can kidnap people from any world, dimension, time, and hold them here without affecting the worlds they come from. [And Megumi's gonna go slack jaw over it having some time control? Please. It's a fucking parlor trick by now.]
no subject
Megumi is not ranked (yet), so he's appreciative of the chance to go hunting with someone who actually knows what they are doing.]
You have a point, [he has to agree. But come on, man, time stop? Just- stop everything and fix the consequences, get to people you usually wouldn't be able to.]
It feels like a waste of power on something like this. [He adds some more wood to the fire and goes to sit down on one of the rocks, next to his dog. The Divine Dog ends up resting its head on Megumi's shoulder.] I'd like to know how they do it.
no subject
Figuring the guy's new, he's already decided to let him stay in his tent. Plenty of room, no one else is coming, sending him back to the shitty accommodations the resort likely gave him would make him feel like dirt. The guy knows how to hunt and work. He's quiet. Pretty good partner to have on a forced roughing it.]
Che. No shit. [His voice dips into bitterness as he pulls one of the pieces of meat from the fire. A quick knock with the back of his knuckle and he passes the skewer to Megumi. It's done, cooked through and hot. They'll look for vegetables tomorrow.]
This place won't give away hints like that. Too many people here would use it to fight back. [Most people don' like being kidnapped and imprisoned.]
no subject
He accepts the offered skewer- it smells good and it looks properly grilled over the fire. After blowing on it for a second, he takes a bite, then nods. It's good- he's never had meat like this before (this fresh, from a recent hunt).]
It's tasty. Thanks.
[Then nods,]
Unless you're a sorcerer, revealing one's hand and techniques has little to no merit to them. [Even sorcerers, sometimes, don't do that binding vow, regardless of the power amplification.] Afraid of the rebellion, huh?
Are there a lot of powerful people around?
no subject
Bakugo bites into his own skewer, hot juice leaking around the cooked meat. Sucks they didn't have anything to spice it up with, but in the wilderness, food's food. He wasn't gonna hunt herbs as the sun goes down.]
Huh? Your world has an advantage if you tell people? [Some heroes blatantly explain and display their Quirks, hoping to intimidate their opponents before a fight breaks out. Bakugo's not shy about displaying his own with threatening bursts. Other Quirks are kept secret to keep the hero's power as safe and overwhelming as possible. One or All and New Order were government secrets.]
Probably. We're basically batteries here. [Gross as it is to admit.] Aa. As long as your powers don't come from external weapons, you get to keep them.
[Or most of them.]
no subject
Yes. Well, it's an advantage for jujutsu sorcerers. They are called "binding vows". You limit your powers or put yourself at risk with one part of the vow, but when you fulfill the other part, your powers get exponentially stronger.
Like "Revealing one's hand": you reveal the way your technique works to your opponent- a risk- and in return, you get a significant boost in your cursed energy and technique's power. It's the most common one sorcerers use, but there are many others.
[Huh. So Megumi is lucky that he's been born with these powers because he gets to keep them here.]
...I think I'd go crazy without my powers, [he admits, turning his head to look at the Divine Dog, who is leisurely checking out the surroundings.]
no subject
A trade off gamble. [Revealing your hand to the opponent, putting yourself at a disadvantage, yet in exchange, increasing your own power, putting yourself at an advantage. The opponent knows what to be on the lookout for, but it doesn't matter if they know or prepare when your attack blows them over completely. Damn, that's kinda cool.]
How detailed do you have to get? [Simply telling someone you can summon animal shinigami from your shadow isn't the same as describing how many, what kind, their size, and the number you can pull at once...
Exactly. Bakugo's Quirk is likewise biological and so he gets to keep them. Innate skills like magic or even superpowers gained by some external event are still retained. It's mostly the weapons the hotel-- IRONICALLY --has a fucking issue with.]
Uh-huh. Dunno what this place is thinking, letting some people keep their abilities and taking others' away.
no subject
Also yes, binding vows can be very cool and very useful, especially if you make some that can pop off in clutch times.]
The more you reveal, the stronger the amplifier becomes. [The single most notable person who uses this kind of vow is Nanami. One can barely tell if Megumi is using it due to the nature of his inherited Ten Shadows. Nanami, who doesn't have inherited techniques, becomes close to unstopable when the binding vow kicks in. That being said... sometimes it's not enough... anyway-]
Hmm. I suppose it cannot fully interfere with our biological makeup. Items can be easily disabled, but you can dampen one's inherited abilities only so much. [It resists naturally, if he has to guess. With Gojo here, he's surprised his Limitless didn't make this place fold in on itself. Then again, it's young Gojo, so maybe he's not experienced in using it.]
no subject
Plus if the guy can come up with random power-ups with those binding vows... But even those will strangle him if he uses too many. Unless he's a lawyer with a silver tongue.]
You might wanna make sure that skill works here. [Already Megumi mentioned his powers are restricted. The hotel might have stripped him of binding vows entirely because it's a fucking shithead. And has issues with people who can get creative with their powers. A friend of his mentioned he knew someone who could warp reality in their homeworld. Guess which power got axed on the kidnap?]
Che. I don't think anything's outside this stupid bird's abilities. [As loathe as he is to give the praise.] If he doesn't want a power coming over, it's not coming over.
no subject
I will. [His powers are restricted, mostly because the cursed energy within him keeps fluctuating from the amount he usually has, where he can summon both his domain and Mahoraga, to such low levels where summoning a rabbit feels like a major task.]
Is there anything else worth noting this 'bird' can do? [He has to be prepared for anything.]
no subject
Megumi says he'll check without taking the obvious bait to do so right this instant. Bakugo ignores it and pulls some meat from the cooking pot via a skewer. Not done. But the pieces cooking over the fire are, so he blows on one and bites the chunk from the skewer.]
Che. It can manipulate reality within the resort. I'm not gonna list all the shit it's done. [Megumi can either ask someone else to waste their time doing so or use his imagination to what "reality warping" all entails.]
If you don't play its game, it'll eventually send you back home.
no subject
The more I hear about this manipulation of the reality within Hotel, the more it reminds me of the Domains sorcerers can do, [he stops eating to look around the place. If it's anything similar, well... until the person casting it decides to break it, they are stuck in here. Megumi has his own Domain he can summon to counter this one, but he can feel the capacity of his cursed energy will never allow it.]
Send me back? [There's a way back?]
no subject
Most people have something similar in their worlds. [Whether it's an actual ability or some facet of a make believe story. There's only one Quirk in Bakugo's world which can actually rewrite reality, but she passed away almost about two weeks ago. From the point he'd been stolen from. Anything else was fantasy in comic books and movies. So it's not had to imagine.]
Aa. If you don't play the house's game, you'll start turning into stone. Once you're completely petrified, you're dead and sent back home. This place isn't gonna waste its resources on someone who won't do what it wants.
[It'd rather capture someone else who'll play along and give it the sustenance it needs/wants.]
no subject
Is that so? [Now he's curious and wants to meet these people so he can compare their ability to his. His own domain isn't fully developed (it is a recent thing), but it's more than enough to disrupt things. Seeing other stuff might help him help develop the rest of his domain when he goes back home.]
Are there people who purposely turned into stone?
[He's... stubborn enough to be the first one, to be fair, despite how much it hurts- he almost died so feeling is familiar.]
no subject
Uh-huh. [Bakugo doesn't know anyone who has the ability in the resort, though he knows one or two people who do. Hasn't really bothered reaching out to make a connection. Mostly because he knows their results have been a whopping failure. If Megumi mentions his plans, Bakugo's going to caution him about disrupting the resort... in certain ways.]
Aa. I've never met any, but some people don't give a shit enough to stick around. [They simply refuse to play the game and sooner or later, bye. Not a good match for the place.] Every other month, new people get brought in.
[Like Megumi here.] Some of them stay, some are sent back home.
