[ That's the trick with this place. Or maybe just the way it is. They have to find little ways of pushing back. They have to find the cracks, the places where they can take space for them. Even now. Maybe especially now. There's a pause as she watches Cellinia and she hopes (wills) that she'll understand, that maybe they can find something in this dumb, horrid place and this dumb performance for just the two of them, no matter who ends up seeing this. She doesn't know what to call this emotion. Affection, certainly. Beyond that - who knows?
She leans in, up and she kisses Cellinia. It's slow and easy and perhaps lacks some of the fire they really want, but it's not for them. It's not for the character. It's for her and the woman settled into her lap. A bid to keep them both sane, a bid to express just what she thinks of her in the here and now. It lingers and then deepens a little, bit by bit.
If they want to yell cut, if they want to move them to another scene, they can do that. But Red is snatching this moment and holding on to it for as long as she can. Her grip tightens, her arms wind around Cellinia and she cradles her close.
The rest of the world isn't there for a few heartbeats. But she's going to have to come back to reality eventually. ]
(she's understood, she thinks she does. cellinia hates it as much as the others does. who would want to stay in a precarious situation where they'd disappear at any time. turned to stone, left as statues to be found in any number of locations. it isn't easy to tell, to know where they might find themselves one day before they're gone. somewhere far away, until that day they'd return to this miserable excuse of a hell meant to use them for its own means. but that's fine, they have the little things they can take hold of. the emotions, the feelings, separating what confuses them for something that felt more comfortable.
or came close to it, like now. mid-kiss, reminding themselves that they ought to keep playing their characters. unfortunately, that's not happening in the lingering kiss and how it deepens slowly. the director is heard saying something "cut", but she hardly pays it any attention for the moment. let her have this, let them have this even if she feels that compulsion to keep going in how her suit mark burns from different whims than usual.
she relaxes, straddling the other woman who holds her tightly against her body. the heat of it firm, reminding cellinia that this is very real. that they're not in some dream, despite that wish for it to be under better circumstances for them to have met again. a kiss is a kiss, but so is anything else it might bring. they did seem keen on a break.
even if it takes her a minute to part from the kiss, a reminder to herself that she didn't want them to watch the two of them. though it was reluctant on her part, she must have struggled with that more than cellinia would like to admit.)
[ Emotions are tricky things. She knows that from experience; from the people she knows back home, from the people she's met here. It's complicated. A tangle that she can't quite undo. But she savors it all the same. There's still something good here. There's something worth preserving, worth holding onto. She kisses Cellinia; she allows it to linger, even through that call of cut. A little act of defiance, perhaps, or maybe just too lost in something she genuinely enjoys.
She breathes out and then finally, finally breaks away, cradling her close for a few moments longer as the scene starts to break apart. As there's things they need to do, elements to change. More filming to get to. It's irritating and she'd like to tell them to fuck off, but...

She can't, can she? Red closes her eyes and gently bumps her forehead into Cellinia's. ]

[ Although she imagines the next scene is likely to be much more of a "performance" than this one. ]
(a lingering kiss, the sound of the director speaking is like white noise in comparison. it didn't matter he said that, for the scene to end and for them to take a break. they seem to have liked it, that cellinia had a change of script and improvised. little did they know, it was because she did want to kiss her. not just for some kind of on screen bullshit that she felt annoyed to think about. who would want to be on the big screen and seen in adult films? she surely wouldn't, not with something like this when cellinia would prefer it to be more of a private affair.
recording was fine, but not genuinely publishing it for the others to see. she doesn't think about it, though. not for now. what she does is think instead about something else. wouldn't it do them both some good to sneak back to her trailer instead? her spade mark seems to be in agreement on that point.
which was odd, even while they're forehead to forehead. it rarely does this with being receptive to something that wasn't vicious mockery and insulting her for what things she does do. it's not a feeling she likes from that, but she won't be saying a word else. not about how odd she's felt ever since the previous month. not even about how she wonders what she could even say to her. too many things, all of it isn't that easy to sort out from how precarious things are in this wonderful (no, it isn't) resort they're within.
so maybe, she thinks that they ought to be a little more defiant.)

[ The on-screen bullshit is just that - bullshit. Red would rather get this over with as fast as she can, honestly. But seeing Cellinia again, getting close - it's nice. Even if it's less than ideal to have it be under the eyes and recording devices of so many other people. She takes a long breath and just sits there, savoring her presence. It's so strange - it hasn't felt that long to her, but there's still an ache of absence, as if she's coming back after a long time.
She doesn't quite know what to do about that. Or even if she should.
Cellinia's words rouse her a little and she laughs. ]
...they did say that, huh?
[ She tilts her head and brushes her nose against Cellinia's. ]
I kinda want to make myself scarce for a bit. And see you again. [ Without all of the camera crew following them around. ]
I was gone, apparently. [ She doesn't say exactly what that means or what she thinks, but she's worried about Cellinia. ]
Want to get out of here for a bit? Think we've got a trailer.
(they did say that. isn't it the best chance for them? wouldn't it be to sneak away and forget that they were supposed to be on camera for what would be something intimate? she could even take her away, by the hand into the elevator and allow the other woman to touch wherever she wished to most. her hands could even slide down those micro shorts she was forced into, perhaps even into that leotard. it's tight on her, thin, though that was the intention of their decision to force cellinia into it. it does the job too well of hugging her curves, the toned muscle of her body.
but she's trying not to think about it, she's failing miserably.
their noses brush, the wolf thinks about it and might know what she means. lappland was gone, she could only guess what happened and what it means. becoming a statue, being frozen somewhere and never found until some poor soul stumbles upon them. she's silent, but the question was what gets her attention. the thoughts shift when the wolf knows with some reluctance they'd have to part. that's fine, isn't it?
because their intentions might be less than innocent, alone, in that trailer with just them and nothing else.)

(the paparazzi happen to be afraid to mess with her, beyond what they try doing to others. but she doesn't need to mention it, she doubts they're around. they shouldn't be when the wolf shifts to stand and help up red. being alone is better, before her mind starts to wander more. they're already bound to get dragged along to whatever set they wanted them at if they stayed around for too long.
better to hurry, even small privacy somewhere like an elevator was better than being on camera for what could happen. or what might not happen, she felt hurt by her departure perhaps, but she didn't want to think about what it means. not what it could have meant whenever lines were blurred enough ever since that day in march where cellinia found herself fighting the other woman. where they touched one another, where they decided against talking about how things felt so different. the resort is a terrible place for these feelings, but something about it couldn't be helped.)
We'll hurry up and get out of here, the elevator should still have some privacy until we get to our trailer. Should still be working, too.
[ That's all she can think to say at first. And then she has to get to her feet and she's one step behind Cellinia, hurrying before they can be called back, before someone says "one more scene-" because at least for right now she wants to get as much time as she can to actually see her. To talk to her. It doesn't feel like all that long, not to her, but she's got the strange sense of being adrift in time. Like she's closed her eyes and opened them and everything changed.
And it has, in a way. Like she's been in a coma or unconscious in a hospital. She doesn't want to think too hard about what the alternative is, though. Not here. So she breathes deep and just follows, watching the tail and those ears. As they reach the elevator bank, she reaches out to slap the button, glancing over her shoulder as if she's afraid she might see some production assistant coming after them with intent. ]
...sorry I was gone. [ It's a low murmur, as if they might still be overheard. ]
Didn't mean for that to happen. [ The elevator 'dings' and she steps into it without a second thought, hoping to shut them both off from the rest of the world. ]
(alone is better, or what's what she thinks. no cameras, no nothing. they didn't seem to notice the pair leaving, not even that cellinia was calmer than earlier. her tail at ease and ears not conveying anything more than her distress having had faded to nothing. she didn't think too much, not about the stories she heard about people becoming statues and returning. about how they could also come back not the way that they knew them. that it'd be someone else entirely, but with the face of someone that everyone had knew before as their old friend.
or more than that, the elevator seems small. this time. small enough that they have space, but not enough for them to be far apart. she's heard about them changing at random and even has once experienced the ghosts within it over halloween. but it's a mystery on what could happen if those damnable things decide to play with them for something so simple as an escape that she welcomes. she can only hope that they aren't dragged back any time soon for another scene. it already looks like they're safe from someone catching them leaving when her pierced ear flicks at the low murmured apology.
the apology she catches before the doors shut, enclosing them in a bubble away from the world where it's only them for now. until they reach their destination, anyway. what she does is, she glances at the other woman. a thoughtful pause when she presses the button to bring them back to their trailer for better privacy.)
....you didn't expect it, I didn't. (she didn't have anything to apologize for, over something both sides hadn't thought would happen.) The only thing that matters is you're fine, even if we hate this place.

[ Small. Enclosed. But private. That's fine with her as Red steps inside and waits and then the doors shut and they're finally away from prying eyes. She can't help but let some of the tension bleed away. Even if she's still dressed in the ridiculous outfit; barely covered in a way that matters by the fluttering cape and the ridiculous "armor" bikini sort of thing. She closes her eyes, takes another breath, and then opens them again to look at Cellinia. ]
Yeah. I guess that's true.
[ She frowns. ]
...are you OK?
[ That's always the question, isn't it? But are any of them, ever, when they're stick here? She reaches a hand out, pauses, as if she's not sure she's allowed. ]
I can't say I missed you since I didn't even realize I was missing anything. But... it's still good to see you.
(is she okay? that's the mystery. cellinia herself can't say a word on that, not even about how she hasn't felt right. now included, where they both are stuck in disastrous costumes that the wolf would rather not be wearing. even if she did make the leotard and shorts look appealing. the cloak too, despite it not covering much. not even her arm scar from months ago while the wolf glances over at red. seeing her reach out to touch her, but pausing from it as if wondering whether it was fine or not. that causes cellinia to think to herself about how unsurprising that this must be. she's always struggled with allowing others to freely touch her, perhaps with telling them that they can.
what did it matter, haven't they seen each other nude? didn't they behave like a pair of wild animals in that stupid dome? she wants to say something, but she pauses until finally she comes nearer. moving over enough for their fingers to brush together, their arms to near touch, while cellinia half ignores the effect of the makeup from earlier that they put on her.)

(she will be. she's not the best at these things, not at expressing her true thoughts and feelings. it'd be more of a surprise if cellinia could, but she doesn't say a word about it. not about what she couldn't remember from when she went down into maintenance. about how she at the time left a note and quietly departed with the intention of avoiding being dragged back for something as stupid as going alone.) (amber eyes look up at her face, the elevator is taking its time to bring them to their destination like something decided to work in their favor. for once. it's doubtful that this will happen to them often, knowing how the house tends to pick the worst times to kick up a storm or cause some manner of disturbances for those that found themselves trapped within the hellhole.) ....should we get out of these when we get inside the trailer? (is it a proposition, an offer to let red undress her? that's also hard to say, since she's not the least bit good at dirty talk and such things.)

[ It's a feeling of almost being left behind. She needs to reassure herself that she's back. That she's grounded again. That the world won't slip away suddenly in the night all over again. She peers back at her, trying to work through her thoughts. Her eyes trace over that outfit - it's definitely tight. It shows off so much while also concealing everything. It leaves the viewer to imagine things and maybe that's why she feels her cheeks heat a little. ]
...we probably should. It'd be nice to get back into something normal. Get more comfortable.
[ Her hand lifts, settles. Fingers gently touching a shoulder. ]

[ It's half a joke. ]
We can help one another. [ Her tongue feels too think. Is she flirting? Just talking? Propositioning in return? Hard for her to really say. She thinks she knows, but she's not sure she wants to say it out loud. Not into the stifling closeness of the elevator. The little room hums. The numbers tick down. ]
(it would be easier if the elevator hadn't arrived small like this. it stirs thoughts, something that can be considered dangerous. tension is one thing, but they're alone. in these costumes that they both find that they dislike heavily, away from prying eyes and ears who might wonder what they were up to had it been somewhere else. just what is it that they're dealing with when the elevator seems to ticking down slowly like it's giving its own hint on what they should be doing. tension isn't something she's a stranger to, but it isn't necessarily helping that she finds herself staring out of the corner of her eye.
it would be nice to get changed, would be nicer if they intend to make use of the privacy they're getting to do as they please. some might say that it's better use of it among the long term guests, about the idea that they have their own "fun" while pushing that narrative that they both despise. about it needing to be sex and hedonism. but they're not above it in some ways, which she hates to admit to herself when she catches the way red blushes.)

(cellinia is close, the tension is killing her in a sense. that brush of bare fingers against her shoulder, too. they're alone. she reminds herself, they're alone. they don't have to hold back if they choose to give in to this tension while they're trying to pretend that the elevator going by slowly isn't a torture in itself. isn't this how some of those cheesy movie plots goes? the couple is in the elevator then they can't take it any longer? all while finding themselves undressed partially in some corner of it and in their own bubble.
which isn't helping her thoughts, her spade mark unsurprisingly is burning in its own brand of mock encouragement. or that's how she perceived it, the mockery it's given her had felt like a twisted variation of it enough. but she keeps staring, she keeps thinking while looking over the bikini armor that they had given red. cellinia might have even called it attractive on her in an unfortunate way. for both of them.)
Hate to say it, but you actually do pull it off. Not so much the flashing part.
(she rather not imagine that, even if it's also not helping to stifle the tension in the air. who will make the first move? who might even reach out with less than innocent intentions? they're already teetering, cellinia even knows that. it's risky because who's to say that outside the elevator could be empty? or maybe she might not care as much as she tells herself about it. about if people could see them after that, fixing costume and armor while playing pretend they didn't just make the most of some part of their time.)
[ Red responds, although in a way she's just saying what she thinks should fit into the conversation. There's not a lot of conviction behind it, because she too feels the tension, the closed in space. There's a touch of yearning in her; wanting touch and closeness and to find comfort in someone she trusts, even if the hotel gets a little bit of what it wants in the process. She can blame her suit (partially) for that, but there's also just her own little sense of neediness. The attraction and muddled feelings that they've been holding for one another for a while now. Sharpened by having been gone and now snapped back into this reality.
It's such a weird mix that she doesn't quite know how to handle it.
Red laughs. ]

[ A pause, another moment where the silence thickens. Red's eyes trace Cellinia's features and then she sways, leans in slightly, pauses as if she's second-guessing, and then finishes closing the distance with a little exhale that sounds too loud in the elevator. ]
Hey. [ It's all the warning she gives and then she kisses Cellinia. Slow, a little hungry. She missed her and she missed this, whatever "this" really is between them. ]
(wouldn't it be so easy if things could be blamed on something out of their control? that everything fell on an outside force for many things that went wrong or right in their lives. she notices, the way they both hardly seem focused on small talk and playing ignorant. attraction is one thing, more than that is another. the resort might take joy in it over what will and what might not happen, but they're people with their own needs. wants and desires aren't something that should be dictated by a horrific game that neither side enjoys. detaching oneself from feeling something during sex can only get one so far, but that's the beautiful thing about attraction.
emotions start to come out, you do have to be attracted to even get anywhere in this place from what texas knows. having sex without said attraction doesn't satisfy their suit marks. which also feeds into the idea that separating one's heart from reality doesn't work the way some might wish. they're all subjected to human needs and whims.
which is why she takes the laughter in stride, of course she would. she wasn't saying it to make empty remarks, she had her reasons for it as cellinia glances back at red. for the moment, that burn of her suit mark stops being something she notices. what she notices as the silence thickens and the tension seems to worsen is her slight lean in the wolf's direction.
she doesn't know what she's thinking, the warning had caught her off guard almost from her futile attempts at ignoring her own thoughts. what it gets them is the tension easing away, if only for now. the slow kiss is met with her own, some might call them pathetic for getting this way in a resort where sexual desires and hedonistic pleasure is to dictate how they leave, others might not even be surprised that somehow they'd behave differently.
it's only their own needs, because....she missed her too, is what cellinia knows. has realized, that she missed her among these confusing feelings she's had for months now.)
[ Red doesn't quite know what she feels; she just knows that she feels it. That she likes Cellinia, that she wants to see more of her. That she wants to speak to her, to have her in her life, even if she feels the same for Luce. But Luce isn't here. Luce is a world away and right now Cellinia is very much present. Someone she's shared an experience with, someone she favors, beyond any influence of the hotel. Beyond any thoughts of trying to sate this place's appetite for their intimacy. She wants this for herself. Is it selfish of her to want that? Maybe it is. Maybe she should be trying to hold back. Trying to avoid getting too entangled.
She wants to be close, though.
So she kisses Cellinia and curls closer, an arm around her middle, letting her lips speak for her as she kisses her deeply, not wanting to pull away. Not wanting this moment to end, even if it's a stolen kiss in a cramped elevator, both of them wearing ridiculous costumes. This is hers, just for right now. Something she can claim ownership of, no matter what the hotel wants or tries to get her to do. It lingers and lingers and then it breaks for a sharp intake of breath. ]
...I don't want you to go anywhere. [ She admits that, low and rushed. ]
I don't know what we - what this is, but- [ She wants to kiss her again, but the words are there and she needs to speak them. ]
(she's got her own complicated feelings, emotions. a lot of it isn't easy to parse through. when she was younger, she considered something like this to be puppy love. something meant to be seen as an idle fancy. however, it wasn't something so easily ignored or forgotten despite the way that she tried to play ignorant. she's ignored it. lappland wasn't there any longer, things had already gotten more complicated after cellinia began to get herself more involved with irene. but that's a given, getting stuck by cupid didn't help. the rest....the rest also hadn't. it's a struggle to restrain herself from wanting too much while also not being sure what she's feeling. if it's real, if it isn't real. if it isn't real, then it felt too real even now where she finds herself in a dilemma of her own about everything.

[ Red agrees, although it's not quite clear which statement she's agreeing with. They don't have to label it. She should stay. Maybe one or the other. Maybe both. Whatever the kiss, it's a low little breathless word. An agreement that hangs between them as she tries to gather her thoughts. It's difficult when she feels on edge; electric and tense in the best possible way, drawn toward Cellinia like no one else she's ever known (save perhaps one and she isn't here). It's strange and maybe weird and difficult to describe, but she wants it.

So she frames her with her arms against the rail and the wall, trying to forget the stupid costumes and everything else. Rather than speak again, there's another kiss, building and intimate and hungry. She presses closer, her heart racing in her chest, the warmth of their bodies mingling. She wants more. She's greedy and for a moment there's a vague sense of guilt, but they both want this - whatever "this" is - and so she tries to forget that. She succeeds fairly well, honestly.
Nails drag down the side of the leotard and she finds her hip and nudges closer, fitting them together, as if she make them both fit perfectly. As if they're pieces of a larger whole and her heart feels as if it's going to burst.

(she doesn't ask what she means, cellinia wants to think she knows. that maybe it's both. maybe that they both wanted it that way, it's such a simple word with a simple meaning. stay. stay with her, don't go, they don't have to label something like this so soon. that everything might be okay. she wants it to be, she hopes it might be. they could catch a break eventually, or that's what cellinia tells herself often while faced with some manner of problems in the resort. they didn't have to rush the labels, but it's obvious they feel something more.

[ A part of Red almost wants to stay in the stupid elevator, in the closed in space, and just press close - but the ding and the hum of the doors finally shakes her out of it a little and she tugs away for a brief moment, her hand finding Cellinia's. This isn't because of the hotel; this isn't for the hotel, even if it might be a bit of what they want. She's doing this for herself. Or at least she tells herself that. She squeezes her hand and then leads the way out of the elevator.
The trailer is right there. Not far away at all. She's up the steps in a moment and tugging the door open and inside a moment later. The stupid cape goes by the wayside and then - well. There's not much left to take off, is there. She stumbles to the bed and sprawls out, turning back to her. She's almost shy for a moment. ]
(she almost wants to suggest closing the elevator door, just pressing a button for it to take a long ride somewhere else. perhaps it's better that she didn't when she unravels herself from irene, they part for now and her hand is in the other woman's grasp. not awkwardly held, just held with a bit of shyness of her own. cellinia isn't used to this, she could admit that to herself. not the idea of tender affections and intimacy. surviving back then, getting as close as telling someone from her childhood that she didn't want her to keep going in what was a life comprised of dying fast if the wrong step was taken.
that's only how it went. it was only business, they called it. she says nothing on it while following into her into the trailer, the door closes and locks behind them before cellinia squeezes irene's hand back in turn. while she discards that obnoxious cape and extends her invitation, cellinia pauses, then tosses aside that cloak and those medieval micro shorts they forced on her. only that leotard remains when she climbs in bed beside her, a crawl forward then laying together with her. as much as it plays into what the resort is after, they're allowed this. to be selfish. this is theirs, this doesn't belong to a parasitic being that would sooner drain the lives of those involved.
by turning them into husks, shells of who they once were with the sickening prospect of them falling into hedonistic pleasures that the wolf despises. but she doesn't say that, she doesn't want to. she doesn't dare to think about it when cellinia glances at the other woman. she's searching, searching for what she wants to say. but maybe it's better if she didn't know what she wants to say, or really if she wanted to speak out anything more than taking this moment for what is. what it should be.)

She didn't "miss" her - she didn't realize she was gone, after all - but she's still glad to see her. Still happy that after that strange gap of time and memory that she's still here.
Whatever else happens, she'll have this, for as long as it lasts. She intends to hold onto it. To grip it as tight as she dares. [ Red agrees, although it's not quite clear which statement she's agreeing with. They don't have to label it. She should stay. Maybe one or the other. Maybe both. Whatever the kiss, it's a low little breathless word. An agreement that hangs between them as she tries to gather her thoughts. It's difficult when she feels on edge; electric and tense in the best possible way, drawn toward Cellinia like no one else she's ever known (save perhaps one and she isn't here). It's strange and maybe weird and difficult to describe, but she wants it.

So she frames her with her arms against the rail and the wall, trying to forget the stupid costumes and everything else. Rather than speak again, there's another kiss, building and intimate and hungry. She presses closer, her heart racing in her chest, the warmth of their bodies mingling. She wants more. She's greedy and for a moment there's a vague sense of guilt, but they both want this - whatever "this" is - and so she tries to forget that. She succeeds fairly well, honestly.

that's only how it went. it was only business, they called it. she says nothing on it while following into her into the trailer, the door closes and locks behind them before cellinia squeezes irene's hand back in turn. while she discards that obnoxious cape and extends her invitation, cellinia pauses, then tosses aside that cloak and those medieval micro shorts they forced on her. only that leotard remains when she climbs in bed beside her, a crawl forward then laying together with her. as much as it plays into what the resort is after, they're allowed this. to be selfish. this is theirs, this doesn't belong to a parasitic being that would sooner drain the lives of those involved.

[ It's a little murmur, punctuated by a short laugh. She probably didn't need to ask that but she wanted to ehar the answer. It makes her smile - it makes her heart jump and leap and fills her with a sense of elation, even as she leans into the touch against her cheek. She savors it, eyes searching Cellinia's expression. She didn't "miss" her - she didn't realize she was gone, after all - but she's still glad to see her. Still happy that after that strange gap of time and memory that she's still here.
Whatever else happens, she'll have this, for as long as it lasts. She intends to hold onto it. To grip it as tight as she dares. Her hand trails idly down her back, fingers splaying against the base of her spine, nestling her a little closer. She's had sex since she arrived, of course.
