【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
It has recently come to our attention that many of our guests have not been focusing on their health and wellness. In an effort to encourage healthy living and help our beloved guests get in shape, a grand sports festival will be held in the Golden Peacock. This sports festival will include many small games and four large games.
Prior to the festival, guests will have the opportunity to train and prepare for the games with our expert coaches.
We hope you are as excited as we are! And, as always, we hope you enjoy your stay. 】

MEET THE TEAM
♦ DIAMONDS GAME ♦
OMEGADOME: HUNTING GAME
A cheerful pair of game managers stand outside the conservatory doors and block all guests that try to enter. They quickly explain that a special Diamonds game is taking place inside and only guests that agree to participate may enter. This game is a physical exercise that riffs on "Hunting", which is a popular sport in many different countries and civilizations. Of course, it is one hundred percent safe, and all guests that play are eligible to win massive chip prizes, store vouchers, fabulous prizes, and more.
Details about the game? Those can't be shared outside of the conservatory. Only the brave and those willing to risks will reap the benefits of this Diamonds game. So step right up, dear guests, and sign this waiver before stepping into the flourishing beauty of the conservatory for a brand new adventure.
♥ HEARTS GAME ♥
DOUBLES' THERMO: SURVIVAL GAME
Chickadees is sparing no expense on advertising their e-sport games over the course of the sports festival. Posters, notifications, stickers, fliers! Come one, come all. Sports don't need to be physical. Guests that duck into the arcade will find a variety of e-sport games to enjoy, but the real showstopper that every single employee is aggressively promoting is the new immersive VR game, DOUBLES' THERMO.
A large swath of egg-shaped pods have been installed in the back half of Chickadees. Any guest that shows an iota of interest will be assaulted by employees encouraging them to give it a try. They will offer vouchers for a free session, encourage with mentions of prizes that can be won from the arcade's coveted prize wall, and persuade by praising how high tech and immersive the experience is. Some employees are desperate enough to trick or push guests into the pods if they aren't willing to go in themselves.
However they've ended up inside the VR egg, guests will find themselves submerged in strange fluid as the lid closes. Everything fades away into darkness as the game loads...
♣ CLUBS GAME ♣
QUACK AND COVER: SHOOTING GAME
Cloaca & Dagger has temporarily outfitted itself as a neon-bright paintball course. Gone are the wild sex setups in exchange for series of obstacles and obstructions for guests to navigate while in pursuit of paintball championship. This high intensity game of strategy and physical fitness promises to exhilarate! Welcome to Quack and Cover, a game where your shooting skills and ingenuity will be put to the test.
So say the game managers at the door before following up with a few disclaimers. Cloaca & Dagger is not responsible for any physical or psychological trauma guests may incur while inside. Guests that join the game will then be outfitted in tight black underarmor and supplied with a paintball gun and protective mask before being let loose on the course.
♠ SPADES GAME ♠
PECKING ORDER: MMA GAME
During night hours, many long-standing guests make their way through Talon toward the gym’s creaky basement stairs. Three floors down and then through a desolate hallway with littered with abandoned equipment. Double doors wait at the end, unassuming until they’ve been opened…
Flashing lights, jeers, and the thick odor of sweat. You’ve found the Pecking Order, a late-night mixed martial arts event where guests show their prowess in the ring. Spectating guests shout and messily eat snacks on make-shift bleachers while fighters clash inches away, using only their bodies to fight for dominance and win. Pecking Order is very informal; guests only need to sign up in order to get added to the docket. Anyone can watch, though they will be vaguely warned at the door that even spectating comes with risks.
LOCKER ROOMS
YOU WASH MY BACK, I'LL WASH YOURS
Every training and game location has a door labeled LOCKER ROOM right outside the entrance. These doors all connect to the same massive locker room. The magic of these locker room doors goes one way. Trying to go back to the place you just were by backtracking will not work — you’ll just end up in Beak! All guests will be advised to finish their games before hitting the showers.
The Golden Peacock is proud to present our upgraded and extended locker room. Please come in and enjoy the facilities, catch-up with your teammates, and enjoy some healthy drinks provided by our favorite resort convenience store, Cock-a-doodle-doo’s!

( he can only judge from her panicked reactions that this young woman is a newcomer to the resort, still getting her bearings in much the same way as he had all those weeks ago.
at least she hadn't woken up trapped in a car with little more to her name than a flimsy robe. small mercies.
the least he can do is answer her question to the fullest, his gaze following hers towards the the sound of the whistle outside, and the vast training fields awaiting them. in contrast to her, he remains composed, voice even like the surface of a still lake. )
I believe it is a ( one moment, he thinks he's heard this term before ) 'boot camp' of some sort. As for the location, you are currently a guest of the Golden Peacock resort. I'm afraid I cannot provide any additional details regarding the precise coordinates of the resort, but if you have any other questions I will do my best to answer.
( he deliberates a moment, then offers out one hand. does she perhaps....want to get up off the cold floor.....? )
I don't recall signing up for a bootcamp. I would have it in my schedule if I was.
[Never mind that she doesn't even think she's ever heard of that particular resort either. It was a fairly memorable name, despite the accommodations looking nothing like a resort. More like well... a bootcamp, as he stated.
Still, he's being a gentleman, so she takes his hand and stands up, smoothing down her outfit that-- looking at it, was not her pajamas either. A sports bra with a white sports jacket, thin and almost see-through, as well as a cute black skort that had gold lining the sides. Revealing, but nothing unusual in New Eridu. The main issue is she doesn't recall ever wearing this either.]
... My bad. I forgot to ask for your name.
[She switches to a more professional tone, suddenly suspicious, trying to mask her guarded outlook with a smile. Random handsome man appears, tells her she's in some bootcamp, and she's wearing clothes she's never owned. It was a bit unfair to him, but since he seemed to know what was going on, she suddenly can't help but suspect he had some hand in this.]
( she looks no worse for the wear as he tugs her up, and as soon as the young woman is back on her feet, he's retracting his hand and folding both demurely in front of him. for all that this place encourages physical intimacy, casual physical contact with strangers still isn't fully in the realm of his preferences.
at least he can offer up an introduction, well-practiced and business-like despite the subtle shift in her bearings. )
Neuvillette. I am the Chief Justice of Fontaine.
( was the chief justice of fontaine? it's difficult to say how the flow of time works between here and back in teyvat, though he supposes it doesn't matter in the greater scheme of things. iudex isn't a title that holds any water here, after all.
especially not when he's garbed in gray sweatpants and a navy blue t-shirt one size too small. )
Many of us find our schedules to be disrupted here. ( apologetic, sympathetic. his own schedule is in shambles. ) The house also likes to surprise its guests with ( hm ) impromptu events such as these.
Fontaine? Was there such a place like that? Oh! Not that I'm doubting you. It's been a while since I left Janus Quarter.
[She's had concerts in the area, largely in Lumina Square. Still, there were parts of New Eridu she hasn't been too, so Fontaine may be a city there she might not have heard of. It was usually not her job to keep track anyway, even if she would like to reach out to fans there.
Oh, but it's a bad idea to reveal who she is. He doesn't seem to recognize her, which was a small blessing.]
So this house... do we know who is running the place? Maybe we should have a little chat? It really isn't a good time to disrupt schedules.
[Also, she hasn't introduced herself. She's working on a name right now.]
It's quite all right. I doubt you would have heard of Fontaine. Most here haven't. Things are rather....different here, from what you might be used to.
( he offers her a smile, meant to come off as reassuring but maybe it just comes off creepy instead? he has no real practice in soothing others, after all.
but maybe now is not the right time to start waxing poetic about timelines and worlds and all sorts of other things that would have more place in a literary work of fantasy than out in reality. especially when she's still trying to adjust.
the whistle sounds shrilly again outside; he pays it no mind. )
I'm afraid I don't know who's in charge, however. I only arrived myself a mere two months ago. ( sorry, they're (mostly) in the same boat. ) But I suspect whoever it is in charge has no real interest in hearing out our grievances, else they would not have brought us here so forcefully to begin with.
[Aww... That awkward smile that looked more creepy than reassuring was so familiar. She remembered when a certain someone was terrible at it too. It's quite nostalgic, and perhaps that familiarity is why she lets her guard down around him a little more. She can't be too suspicious of a man who means well. That'll be like kicking a puppy.
Besides, he's doing his best to help her.]
Mmhmm, so we don't know the CEO. What about the staff? Oh, does this place have any, or were you the one who provided such tidy beds?
[She doesn't know the rest of the hotel yet. For her, this bunk bed situation was the only face right now, and if he had been here two months, maybe he's had a hand in keeping the place tidy.]
her redirection, at least, is somewhat easier to answer; even if the training grounds themselves are new, the rest of the resort has become increasingly more familiar over the past several weeks. )
There are staff, yes, though most of them only oversee minor affairs across the resort.
( and then, because he really doesn't feel equipped to answer all these questions despite having offered to the first place, he gestures towards outside. )
Perhaps you might like to speak with the coach currently in charge?
( not that he thinks it'll get either of them very far, but better than him trying to supplement with his meager knowledge. )
[... Wait, back up. She got excited at the idea that there might be someone who might know more, that she almost misses the first part of what he says.
Resort?]
... Wait, didn't you say this was a bootcamp? You mean we're in a resort?
( ah. he's only managed to complicate things. his lips thin in a contrite grimace, neuvillette closing his eyes and bowing his head briefly as he tries to best arrange his explanation. )
Yes, you are currently in a resort called the Golden Peacock that frequently hosts various for its guests. I believe this 'bootcamp' is another one of said events.
( then quieter, to himself, with clear remorse: )
I really don't believe I'm the best person to be explaining this.
( he barely knows more than she does, after all. )
even if it is an offer that surprises him, his attention whipping back to her as his eyes widen. )
Partner up? With myself?
( sorry, most people don't casually just invite him to do things with them. but it's a pleasant feeling all the same and he's quick to compose himself again. )
It would be my pleasure to. Though I'm not certain what it is we'll be competing in today...
Of course! Two heads are better than one, and I'd like to be friends.
[She's going to use her secret weapon, foolproof one-of-a-kind Astra-approved weapon, works about 90% of the time--
Puppy dog eyes. Complete with both hands fisted loosely together in front of her like she's trying to mimic a cute begging puppy. Surely he wouldn't say no to that?]
You'll be my friend, right? We can do all kinds of fun things together!
again he's thrown off-kilter, by both the sweet plea in her voice and the wideness of her eyes. he would have agreed even without, but with the weight of both those now bearing upon him, it would be most churlish of him to refuse.
so he offers her a smile, genuine, as he dips his head down in acceptance. )
If that is what you desire, then it would be my privilege to be your friend.
( wow....he has so many friends here now. truly an experience he never would have imagined before. )
Oh, you don't need to be so polite with me! I'd like it if you treated me like an equal. Let's go!
[Though now that they established the need to meet a coach, she is quick to make her way to the door with a 'Ladida~' and almost runs off ahead of him, before she backs up and peeks at him from the doorway.]
