All are invited to There Is No Tomorrow, a Phoenix Casino soiree to celebrate our beloved guests. The festivities will begin at 1800 hours on January 20th and end at 1800 hours on January 27th. Please look forward to 168 hours of delight.
In an effort to raise happiness and encourage better guest relationships, attendance is required. The house will assist guests that are too shy to appear of their own accord. Please note that black tie attire is mandatory. As always, we hope you enjoy your stay! 】

ANY CAR IN A STORM
PHOENIX CASINO HALL
WELCOME TO THE NEXT 168 HOURS
Phoenix Casino is a-flutter with activity and packed to the beak with guests. As a famously ever-changing space, the staff would be remiss if they didn't deck the crown jewel of the Golden Peacock out. The casino glitters from top to bottom, shining brighter than diamonds, rubies, sapphires, opals! Party-goers are shiny and glamorous with picture perfect makeup, fluttering gowns, and sharp suits. Card tables are packed and the slot machines are a-ringing as guests play, play, play! Prizes, luxury, booze, attractive people, it's the place that everyone wants to be at.
Those people being dragged inside by some invisible force...? Silly, they were so excited to come that their bodies moved before they realized what was happening. Those are struggles of joy and definitely not the casino's infamous ghost hands dragging unwilling guests to the party at the behest of the house. Look, they're literally hurling their bodies at the card tables with unrestrained glee!
All clocks indicating day hours and night hours have been removed from the casino. Once a guest has entered, their Watch will jam, making it impossible to keep track of the time. You don't need to worry about that tonight.
▶ All characters on the TDM are WILDCARDS, which means they have not yet been assigned a card value. Suits will not manifest until characters are accepted into the game.
▶ All TDMs are game canon. This TDM acts as the game's January event.
▶ Current characters may top level on the TDM. Any current characters posting to the TDM should note they are current in their subject header.
▶ The top level directory is for new characters only. We want to make sure new characters are prioritized and receive attention! If you would be interested in a game invitation, you can note that in your comment header. This month we also have an ongoing ATP / EMP where players can connect. Please feel free to utilize this for all of your peafowl needs!
▶ If you aren't satisfied with these prompts, please feel free to check out our LOCATIONS to explore more of the resort!
▶ Smut threads that take place on this TDM can be used for rewards. If both parties in the smut thread join the game, you may retroactively apply the character's initial card values to your 52 bank. If one character does not join the game the thread will not be applicable toward rewards (as that character would not have a card value). The character that does join would still receive a small payout for the encounter. Hopefully it was a fun thread regardless!
▶ We ask you to kindly add content warnings to your threads as appropriate.
▶ If you do not currently have permissions and kinks listed in your character’s journal we suggest leaving a note in your top level of any limits or boundaries for other players to reference.
Zoro listens closely as Weiss shares her knowledge of the place. He's grateful that she isn't withholding, and his tone becomes 5% friendlier because of it. Maybe he won't make fun of what sex toy she identifies as. "How do I collect cards?" he asks curiously. His expression grows even more intrigued when she reveals that snooping around might yield results. "Has anyone found it yet, that you know of?" A pause, then he adds: "Is there something you're looking for?"
A loud laugh escapes him, he can't help it - Weiss is entertaining with the way she gets worked up from hardly any effort on his part. He doesn't bother protesting that he didn't technically call her a loser, because his own single braincell perfectly understands her logic. He'd been encouraging her to lose, after all.
He does look surprised at her answer. "A whip? Is that a sex toy?" He'd been thinking more traditional - things that can be inserted, not things that can be used for torture. It reveals something about his own experience with toys (that is to say, none until he'd come here.)
After he's heard her answer, he grows serious once again, facing the house of cards. It's starting to look precarious, and he narrows his eyes as he surveys the table for the best option. The skill required here is the opposite of what he usually relies on; finesse rather than strength.
Slow, steady, calm. He focuses, lifting a card away carefully, holding his breath until he can take a few steps to safety, slipping back into his chair.
"Have you ever had a sexy encounter with chocolate sauce?" He snorts at the question, looking up at Weiss as he shakes his head. "No. As Sanji would say, we don't waste food." Then he goes quiet as he starts to imagine it, and... well.
He'll snap back to reality whenever Weiss speaks next.
Had they met a year ago, Weiss would not answer the question of how to collect cards directly. She wouldn't have been able to say "sex" out loud without getting flustered and stammering then! Now though? She answers it plain and simple.
"You collect cards by having sex with someone." Though she doesn't sound too pleased saying it out loud. It's an inconvenient reality here, after all. At least, it is how she sees it even if she plays the game herself.
"Someone's probably found it by now, but I don't know them if there was one. I just want my clothes from home back - my combat outfit and my sword."
Zoro's not the only one who's lost his weapon. Weiss has made do though, crafting a weapon here without anyone knowing. The staff asking around if they know who's been stealing things from the garage, and this girl right here is one of the perpetrators. That's not a truth she is willing to let go of so easily, though. After all, she barely knows this person. Right now, he's just someone she might get chips from, which would be nice to have in her account!
Weiss doesn't start a debate about a whip being a sex toy or not, though. She thinks it's a prop used for sex, so it counts! And she does tell Zoro that, too, not explaining any further. Their Watches don't make some sort of noise anyway, so the game seems to still be on, which means her answer was accepted.
As for Zoro's? His is, too, although it does get a reaction out of Weiss. While she doesn't sound excited, she does seem a little more interested in the game and the conversation now.
"I've definitely heard that before." She gets up to grab a card, this time taking one from the bottom-most layer. She's being bold! "Are you someone from Sanji and Nami's crew?"
If Zoro knew Weiss has been here for a year, he'd extend his sympathies. He's only been here for a much shorter duration, and he hasn't been able to fully relax just yet. There are too many unknown variables, and the most dangerous enemy is the one you can't see. Or hear. Or understand...
Weiss answers him, and Zoro thinks he must have heard wrong. "Excuse me?" He makes a face. "But there are so many cards..." His eyes narrow as that sinks in. What kind of sick game is this? It's the most deranged thing he's ever heard of.
A soft sigh leaves him at what she says next. Someone must have found this theoretical room that has everyone's stuff, but he has no clue where to start identifying said person. Or if it's even really true that someone has managed this task. This means he has to talk to more people to find more, and the idea isn't pleasing to him.
Zoro does perk up when she mentions a sword. "You're a swordsman? Cool." Another 5% friendlier due to this newly revealed common ground. It helps him be less argumentative, so he only shrugs when she confirms that a whip is indeed a sex toy (he'll find out later that it's true, but for now he's content to take her word for it.)
Two things happen next: first, Zoro grows suddenly nervous when Weiss demonstrates such a bold move with the deck; he momentarily forgets that it's good for him if she brings it all crashing down. Next, he hears the name of two people he certainly doesn't expect to come out of this stranger's mouth. "Yeah, I am." Now he looks a little excited, like a kid being told he can play with his friends soon. "You know them?" His words are simple, but his eyes say please, tell me more!
Yeah, let that sink in. It's 52 cards to collect, and who even knows if the House will stay true to its word and make you go home and fulfill a wish. Still, those are the rules; Weiss struggles with not following the rules.
And yes - thank you! She is very cool! She might look like a proud cat from the simple compliment, sitting up straighter and all, but she doesn't say much about it. She has no sword here, she hasn't found it yet, so at this time? All she has are her Glyphs and the magic that was lent to her by the demon she made a contract with.
"I did try to spar with someone here once. I admit, I'm getting rusty." No battles to be fought here, after all. But since he seems to be into swords? Maybe it'll be interesting to get him to spar with her one day. "If you don't mind practising with wooden swords or cheap steel ones, we should spar some time. The gym has those."
Once they both get their own weapons? Maybe they'd perform better in a friendly spar, too.
Whether or not Zoro accepts the invitation, the game goes on. He confirms that he is from Nami and Sanji's crew, which gives Weiss a sense of comfort. Her eyes briefly flicker over to the card to read it, but she has to answer him first.
"Yup." She's also collected their cards, but that may or may not be implied by the fact that she knows them. Up to him to pick up on that. "I'm not sure if they decided to attend the party, but if I see them, I can tell them you're here? The Sword Guy."
Until he says his name, she'll refer to him as such.
