【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
Due to a high volume of check-ins, temporary accommodations have been made in our parking garage for all new arrivals. We aim to have all guests moved into their reserved rooms as soon as possible. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience!
All are invited to There Is No Tomorrow, a Phoenix Casino soiree to celebrate our beloved guests. The festivities will begin at 1800 hours on January 20th and end at 1800 hours on January 27th. Please look forward to 168 hours of delight.
In an effort to raise happiness and encourage better guest relationships, attendance is required. The house will assist guests that are too shy to appear of their own accord. Please note that black tie attire is mandatory. As always, we hope you enjoy your stay! 】
PARKING GARAGE
ANY CAR IN A STORM
PHOENIX CASINO HALL
WELCOME TO THE NEXT 168 HOURS
Phoenix Casino is a-flutter with activity and packed to the beak with guests. As a famously ever-changing space, the staff would be remiss if they didn't deck the crown jewel of the Golden Peacock out. The casino glitters from top to bottom, shining brighter than diamonds, rubies, sapphires, opals! Party-goers are shiny and glamorous with picture perfect makeup, fluttering gowns, and sharp suits. Card tables are packed and the slot machines are a-ringing as guests play, play, play! Prizes, luxury, booze, attractive people, it's the place that everyone wants to be at.
Those people being dragged inside by some invisible force...? Silly, they were so excited to come that their bodies moved before they realized what was happening. Those are struggles of joy and definitely not the casino's infamous ghost hands dragging unwilling guests to the party at the behest of the house. Look, they're literally hurling their bodies at the card tables with unrestrained glee!
All clocks indicating day hours and night hours have been removed from the casino. Once a guest has entered, their Watch will jam, making it impossible to keep track of the time. You don't need to worry about that tonight.
▶ All characters on the TDM are WILDCARDS, which means they have not yet been assigned a card value. Suits will not manifest until characters are accepted into the game.
▶ All TDMs are game canon. This TDM acts as the game's January event.
▶ Current characters may top level on the TDM. Any current characters posting to the TDM should note they are current in their subject header.
▶ The top level directory is for new characters only. We want to make sure new characters are prioritized and receive attention! If you would be interested in a game invitation, you can note that in your comment header. This month we also have an ongoing ATP / EMP where players can connect. Please feel free to utilize this for all of your peafowl needs!
▶ If you aren't satisfied with these prompts, please feel free to check out our LOCATIONS to explore more of the resort!
▶ Smut threads that take place on this TDM can be used for rewards. If both parties in the smut thread join the game, you may retroactively apply the character's initial card values to your 52 bank. If one character does not join the game the thread will not be applicable toward rewards (as that character would not have a card value). The character that does join would still receive a small payout for the encounter. Hopefully it was a fun thread regardless!
▶ We ask you to kindly add content warnings to your threads as appropriate.
▶ If you do not currently have permissions and kinks listed in your character’s journal we suggest leaving a note in your top level of any limits or boundaries for other players to reference.
[ Archer isn't sure escape attempts will work; however, he would rather try, at least once, to gauge how much leeway this absurd place actually allows. Especially since the general atmosphere of this party is repulsive to him.
What he doesn't expect is to be addressed by an unfamiliar voice - and by his class, no less.
Archer turns, and there's no recognition in his eyes. He does, however, assess the other man quietly. ]
Yes. [ There's no point in denying that. ] Though I'm afraid you have me at something of a disadvantage.
(seems that karna did realize immediately, unrecognized and everything by the bowman. a different version of archer. from that point being presented to him by the resort, this leaves the possibility he might run into others he knew before. others from chaldea who won't recognize him as well. it's a saddening thought, truly, but he can keep his knowledge of the future to himself unless asked. try to, anyway.
this left him in a small conundrum, by no means is he the bowman's enemy. what he's attempting to do is assess what's happening while also not causing any further alarm, karna had gotten slightly unluckier with his body being given back to him. that does not mean he wants to waste it by fighting and having to deal with repercussions by his account being fined for their battle. karna didn't have a weapon, but his fists were more than enough in the event something gets taken wrong.)
No, you needn't worry on that. I'm not here for anything personally, as you can see, the guests consider me a nuisance for being in their space due to rank. Normally I would be called Lancer, but since it isn't as necessary....please call me Karna.
(this might be better, karna isn't articulate or the best at it in a typical situation. if anything, words and conversation are his enemy in how he struggles. he can have a remark for most things, half the time it could be deadpan sass and the other times strange commentary on whatever else.
but, if he can at least help slightly someone he knew before that no longer knows him....then that's something he can set aside his struggles for.)
[ Archer is silent for a moment as he weighs his response. There is a lot to unpack there, but there is one thing he focuses on that he finds more troublesome than the rest of it put together. As noble a hero as Karna is known to be (and Archer has no reason to disbelieve this man is who he claims), he questions the circumstances that would have allowed Karna to know him -- and not only know him, but feel comfortable disclosing his True Name to another Servant. There is no Holy Grail here, it's true, but secrecy is so deeply ingrained in him on that particular point that Archer can't help but seriously wonder at the other's circumstances prior to coming here. ]
...I appreciate your candor, Karna. [ he says finally. ] And I certainly have no quarrel with you or any other Servant in this...setting.
[ Yeah, let's go with the most...sanitary term for this place. ]
Given the circumstances I left, I prefer to be addressed by my designated class. However...if you don't mind discussing it, I'm curious how you came to know me.
I understand, even the version of you that I know strongly preferred to be called by class. A lot of it is....a long story. There was no grail war, but something different.
(as for the circumstances of said issue, it is not as though karna would presume that the bowman would take his word as true. he is still a stranger to archer as he is currently before him. which makes this difficult pertaining to what he can and cannot likely say. regardless, he did get along with the other man in chaldea so that should be enough. it's not as though karna personally minds (far from it) but he muses more to himself that he should do his utmost best.
being good at this or not, that didn't matter. it is a relief that he isn't going to be in the midst of battle during a party. that and his discernment is useful for knowing when such things were true. so far, so good. nothing to worry about on terms of lies going about their conversation. karna himself just has a personality that leans more into preferring truth than that (though he understands lying for good reasons) whenever he can help that.)
I thought for a time that you were the one that I knew, perhaps not in experience. But I can still tell that you aren't completely different to the one I know from Chaldea.
(though maybe, just maybe, karna might eventually do as he's always done with his joy of fighting and ask later if archer would like to spar in the talon together to stay sharp. he can always rely on him for improvements in his form.)
