【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
Due to a high volume of check-ins, temporary accommodations have been made in our parking garage for all new arrivals. We aim to have all guests moved into their reserved rooms as soon as possible. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience!
All are invited to There Is No Tomorrow, a Phoenix Casino soiree to celebrate our beloved guests. The festivities will begin at 1800 hours on January 20th and end at 1800 hours on January 27th. Please look forward to 168 hours of delight.
In an effort to raise happiness and encourage better guest relationships, attendance is required. The house will assist guests that are too shy to appear of their own accord. Please note that black tie attire is mandatory. As always, we hope you enjoy your stay! 】

PHOENIX CASINO HALL
WELCOME TO THE NEXT 168 HOURS
Phoenix Casino is a-flutter with activity and packed to the beak with guests. As a famously ever-changing space, the staff would be remiss if they didn't deck the crown jewel of the Golden Peacock out. The casino glitters from top to bottom, shining brighter than diamonds, rubies, sapphires, opals! Party-goers are shiny and glamorous with picture perfect makeup, fluttering gowns, and sharp suits. Card tables are packed and the slot machines are a-ringing as guests play, play, play! Prizes, luxury, booze, attractive people, it's the place that everyone wants to be at.
Those people being dragged inside by some invisible force...? Silly, they were so excited to come that their bodies moved before they realized what was happening. Those are struggles of joy and definitely not the casino's infamous ghost hands dragging unwilling guests to the party at the behest of the house. Look, they're literally hurling their bodies at the card tables with unrestrained glee!
All clocks indicating day hours and night hours have been removed from the casino. Once a guest has entered, their Watch will jam, making it impossible to keep track of the time. You don't need to worry about that tonight.
▶ All characters on the TDM are WILDCARDS, which means they have not yet been assigned a card value. Suits will not manifest until characters are accepted into the game.
▶ All TDMs are game canon. This TDM acts as the game's January event.
▶ Current characters may top level on the TDM. Any current characters posting to the TDM should note they are current in their subject header.
▶ The top level directory is for new characters only. We want to make sure new characters are prioritized and receive attention! If you would be interested in a game invitation, you can note that in your comment header. This month we also have an ongoing ATP / EMP where players can connect. Please feel free to utilize this for all of your peafowl needs!
▶ If you aren't satisfied with these prompts, please feel free to check out our LOCATIONS to explore more of the resort!
▶ Smut threads that take place on this TDM can be used for rewards. If both parties in the smut thread join the game, you may retroactively apply the character's initial card values to your 52 bank. If one character does not join the game the thread will not be applicable toward rewards (as that character would not have a card value). The character that does join would still receive a small payout for the encounter. Hopefully it was a fun thread regardless!
▶ We ask you to kindly add content warnings to your threads as appropriate.
▶ If you do not currently have permissions and kinks listed in your character’s journal we suggest leaving a note in your top level of any limits or boundaries for other players to reference.
( unless he was outright being rude to her, she would take his words in stride and view it as an act of kindness. much like his effort to help her stand up-
immediately through the teary eyes, she took his hand and rose up. as she dusted herself off and rubbed her eyes, she turned to him to give him a curious expression. )
Right now? I....
( he was asking her for this, wasn't he? if she could keep her sadness at bay and entertain others, then she would do it. with a new resolve in mind, she held his hand gently and nodded. )
Okay I can do it, and show everyone what I'm known for.
[ long and fine, her fingers are pale and dainty against his: sun-baked, weapon-callused, break-knuckled. the squeeze is meant a comfort, his other hand resting politely on her shoulder, stalwart where she seems unsteady. he makes up the better part of a foot towering over her, and he serves as broad-shouldered blockade between her and other onlookers, allowing her something like privacy in the moment. ]
Good girl. [ a hapless grin, he gives his head a tug back towards the front of the casino, indicating out a path. ] The bathroom with the best lighting isn't far off. Can you walk?
[ overtly, he's only offering an arm to keep her company, but — ]
I can carry you, if you just want to get there... and then, you can sing for us all. [ fair trade. ]
( among the haze of having a hangover from the drug she used and the sadness in her, it wasn’t hard for her to immediately notice the contrast between the two. he seemed so young, at the very least younger than her, and for a moment her thoughts about her heartbreak back home came to a pause. what exactly had he been doing before arriving here? who….was this person exactly?
but before she could articulate any thoughts or questions, she was guiding her and shielding her so protectively. with a soft blush to her face, she looked up at him, feeling an overwhelming feeling come over her. there was so much going on and before she could answer him came the next question-
’I can carry you’. his statement rang in her mind and immediately she nodded. if he wanted to get rid of her soon, it was going to become difficult to do so now. )
Please, my head feels so heavy…
( her voice is soft but commanding, eyes looking up at his with a delicate and frail demeanor. )
light cw for some... homicidal thought patterns lmfao i'm sorry
[ no more than that expression of frailty and he'd moved to her rescue: the press of a strong form, a broad hand in the small of her back, an arm hooked behind knocked knees. she's tucked preciously against his chest like a beloved bride in one fell swoop, and it's immediately clear that, to him, she may as well weigh nothing. like a picture out of a romance novel, he's off with the princess, strong and stoic. ]
[ so. does he hate her? would the world be better off if he squeezed and squeezed until this doll's marionette strings snapped and birdbones cracked and her lips blushed with blood? a weeping thing like this would be a mercy kill, a kindness to the cursed spirit's fuel spilling off of her in repugnant waves. ]
[ does he have to hate her to kill her? there's no meaning in that. — these are the questions that occupy his mind as he oh so delicately spirits her to the bathroom, blessedly unlocked and emptied. decadent black marble floor, gold trim framing the floor-to-ceiling mirrors, a lush emerald parlor sofa separating a powder area with the stalls proper; Getou locks the door behind them and lays her upon it, plucking a tissue from a nearby box and offering it out. Layla won't be the first to burst into tears during this long party. ]
Come now, isn't this better? [ a hand keeps her skull scooped, curls full and soft against his palm. ] Pull yourself together.
( as he swooped her up into her arms, so quickly yet in such a commanding manner, she couldn't help but remain silent as her sadness began to settle away. somewhere in between leaving the pool table and heading towards the bathroom, she began to realize that perhaps she should be more wary—
after all, she was new here, alone and wasn't very physically strong in comparison to others. truthfully he could hurt her and while that idle thought formed a knot in her stomach, all she could do was remain silent as she looked up at him. observing every detail about him from how youthful he looked despite his strength, that dark and long hair that reminded her of someone else. everything she took in felt like a swirled mess in her mind and as the bright lights of the bathroom filled her vision, she closed her eyes briefly before she finally was set down on the sofa.
the door locking didn't escape her, but instead of saying anything she simply nodded at his words. they were a bit more harsh this time but she had been used to being perfect for her job, for the sake of not ruining things. it wasn't the first time she shoved down her big emotions into herself and set them aside to only come out in another toxic manner. )
Much better....thank you.
( she took a tissue from the box, wiping away her tears as she rested her head against his palm. )
I um...I think I'll be okay. I just needed to get away from all that really, so thank you for carrying me.
