【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
Due to a high volume of check-ins, temporary accommodations have been made in our parking garage for all new arrivals. We aim to have all guests moved into their reserved rooms as soon as possible. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience!
All are invited to There Is No Tomorrow, a Phoenix Casino soiree to celebrate our beloved guests. The festivities will begin at 1800 hours on January 20th and end at 1800 hours on January 27th. Please look forward to 168 hours of delight.
In an effort to raise happiness and encourage better guest relationships, attendance is required. The house will assist guests that are too shy to appear of their own accord. Please note that black tie attire is mandatory. As always, we hope you enjoy your stay! 】

ANY CAR IN A STORM
PHOENIX CASINO HALL
WELCOME TO THE NEXT 168 HOURS
Phoenix Casino is a-flutter with activity and packed to the beak with guests. As a famously ever-changing space, the staff would be remiss if they didn't deck the crown jewel of the Golden Peacock out. The casino glitters from top to bottom, shining brighter than diamonds, rubies, sapphires, opals! Party-goers are shiny and glamorous with picture perfect makeup, fluttering gowns, and sharp suits. Card tables are packed and the slot machines are a-ringing as guests play, play, play! Prizes, luxury, booze, attractive people, it's the place that everyone wants to be at.
Those people being dragged inside by some invisible force...? Silly, they were so excited to come that their bodies moved before they realized what was happening. Those are struggles of joy and definitely not the casino's infamous ghost hands dragging unwilling guests to the party at the behest of the house. Look, they're literally hurling their bodies at the card tables with unrestrained glee!
All clocks indicating day hours and night hours have been removed from the casino. Once a guest has entered, their Watch will jam, making it impossible to keep track of the time. You don't need to worry about that tonight.
▶ All characters on the TDM are WILDCARDS, which means they have not yet been assigned a card value. Suits will not manifest until characters are accepted into the game.
▶ All TDMs are game canon. This TDM acts as the game's January event.
▶ Current characters may top level on the TDM. Any current characters posting to the TDM should note they are current in their subject header.
▶ The top level directory is for new characters only. We want to make sure new characters are prioritized and receive attention! If you would be interested in a game invitation, you can note that in your comment header. This month we also have an ongoing ATP / EMP where players can connect. Please feel free to utilize this for all of your peafowl needs!
▶ If you aren't satisfied with these prompts, please feel free to check out our LOCATIONS to explore more of the resort!
▶ Smut threads that take place on this TDM can be used for rewards. If both parties in the smut thread join the game, you may retroactively apply the character's initial card values to your 52 bank. If one character does not join the game the thread will not be applicable toward rewards (as that character would not have a card value). The character that does join would still receive a small payout for the encounter. Hopefully it was a fun thread regardless!
▶ We ask you to kindly add content warnings to your threads as appropriate.
▶ If you do not currently have permissions and kinks listed in your character’s journal we suggest leaving a note in your top level of any limits or boundaries for other players to reference.
[ the concern quickly melts away into relief when she confirms she isn't any worse for the fall. he's only been here for a little over two months, and though he's surely seen a lot of what the hotel has to offer in terms of hijinks, "drinks that make you float" is certainly a first. all things considered, there were definitely worse ways to meet. ]
Well that's a relief. I'm Marco. Adriano, [ he adds in afterthought, since she'd given him her full name. her hand he gently takes into his own, offering a small shake. ]
You're welcome, though I don't think I did anything more than just sit here.
[ speaking of, surely she wouldn't wish to sit on a stranger's lap for longer than she has to. after a quick adjustment of his legs, he moves to gently help right her back on her feet. ]
Do you feel a little steadier now? No risk of floating off again?
It's nice to meet you, Marco. [ Her smile is warm as they shake hands, and then she accepts the offer of his support, allowing her to slip easily onto her feet. She wobbles for a moment on her heels—she's still really not used to them—but gathers herself in the next moment, nodding at him—and offering a brief thumbs-up. ]
Uh-huh! No risk of floating off! Buut... I think maybe I'll put that champagne aside in favor of some water, too, just to play it safe.
[ She laughs again, shaking her head. ]
May I ask how long you've been here? It seems it's different for everyone.
[ he comes to stand from his own seat once she's on her feet, propriety dictating he shouldn't be seated while someone he's speaking to has to stand. he folds his arms behind him, one hand loosely wrapped around the wrist of the other, but though is posture looks more relaxed, he's nonetheless ready to reach out for her again should she suddenly take off. ]
It's been a little under three months, I think.
[ the watch has been helpful in keeping track of the days, but given his distrust of the establishment overall, he would not put it past their captors if they've messed with the times on top of everything else. it's not as if any of the guests can tell themselves; the windows, and any other "outdoors" the hotel provides has all been a mere construct. ]
[ She looks at him in surprise when he stands up, having not expected it. She's almost ready to tell him to just sit down again, that it's okay, but he's already answering her question from before. She frowns as she listens, nodding. Three months isn't that long a time compared to some of whom she's heard, but she's sure for him it feels like an eternity.
And she wonders... just how long will they all be here, in the end?
but instead of letting herself dwell on it, she offers him another small smile. ]
Mmhmm. Since this morning. I woke up in a big car, and then they forced me into this horribly itchy dress and made me come to this party. Is it always like this here?
[ the look on marco's face sits somewhere between amused and aggrieved. ]
No, not like this specifically... But there does always seem to be something going on.
[ when he arrived, there had been zombies, so. you know. it could always be worse.
he looks down at the dress in question, before hastily flicking his eyes back up upon realizing it might be considered staring. and given the flashy nature of the dress... ah. ]
For what it's worth, the dress looks lovely on you. [ he glances towards the entrance, where he assumes they had all been made to "dress up" appropriately. his own current suit is certainly far fancier than he's ever had, made of material that feel more valuable than his own life (though maybe that isn't saying much) but he is, at least, used to being stuffed in a suit. ] But if it bothers you that much, I don't see why we can't request for a different one...
[ To the compliment, Aerith offers him a dazzling smile. As uncomfortable as the garment is, of course it's nice to hear that someone thinks it looks good! But it's what he says next that really gets her attention, making her brows rise and her head tilt as she tries very hard not to be too hopeful
(and probably fails a little bit) ]
Do you think they'd let me change? I guess it'll sound kinda strange for me to say this, but it felt almost like a punishment, you know? Because I came to the party in the wrong kind of clothes.
[ Never mind that she didn't exactly know there was a party, let alone a fancy one, but she's not about to make excuses for herself. ]
It would be nice, though. I think the dress is pretty, but everything about it is uncomfortable!
[ Seriously, she's worn an soldier's uniform more comfortable than this. ]
[ he looks again towards the entrance, where a handful of staff gather in front of racks and racks of fancy attire. he does the mental calculations in his head for a moment, before turning back to aerith with a small, encouraging smile. ]
I think so long as you're still dressed up, they won't offer too much protest. There are little ways to bend their rules, don't worry.
[ that being said... ]
But if things start to look dicey, just take a dress that looks better for you, and I'll distract them so you can get away.
[ he stands aside and holds a hand out, offering to let her lead the way. ]
[ Her smile is broad as she accepts his hand and then moves over toward where the staff are gathered at the racks of clothes. Because the pair aren't trying to leave, they seem mostly content to leave them alone as Aerith threads into the racks, looking at and feeling the different materials under her fingers.
She frowns; most of them are just as uncomfortable as what she's already wearing.
With a smile, she looks up, beckons him over closer to her. ]
Help me? Everything I'm finding feels just as itchy and gross.
