PARKING GARAGE
ANY CAR IN A STORM
PHOENIX CASINO HALL
WELCOME TO THE NEXT 168 HOURS
Phoenix Casino is a-flutter with activity and packed to the beak with guests. As a famously ever-changing space, the staff would be remiss if they didn't deck the crown jewel of the Golden Peacock out. The casino glitters from top to bottom, shining brighter than diamonds, rubies, sapphires, opals! Party-goers are shiny and glamorous with picture perfect makeup, fluttering gowns, and sharp suits. Card tables are packed and the slot machines are a-ringing as guests play, play, play! Prizes, luxury, booze, attractive people, it's the place that everyone wants to be at.
Those people being dragged inside by some invisible force...? Silly, they were so excited to come that their bodies moved before they realized what was happening. Those are struggles of joy and definitely not the casino's infamous ghost hands dragging unwilling guests to the party at the behest of the house. Look, they're literally hurling their bodies at the card tables with unrestrained glee!
All clocks indicating day hours and night hours have been removed from the casino. Once a guest has entered, their Watch will jam, making it impossible to keep track of the time. You don't need to worry about that tonight.

I have no doubt about that, Akira. We worked hard to be able to pull the rug from underneath Akechi's feet. It would be a pity not to reap the rewards of looking cool.
[He too goes back to changing out of the dress pants and stylish, tight shoes and changes into more loose pants with worn black sneakers. Much better.]
it fits him well!! since he is so stubborn about staying true to himself c:
[. . . mmm. Akira manages a tight smile at Akechi's name, and for a moment, he considers spilling that bit of info. but then he decides against it (for the sake of not fucking with my thread timelines). with his suit discarded, he flops himself onto the nearest chair, hands links behind his head]
Yeah, we totally kicked his ass. [everything else that happened afterwards aside, their victory over Akechi had felt so good] And the asses of some other very important people after him.
listen, I needed a good excuse to have him act sexy and *very* dominant >.>;
[Yusuke sits down in the chair next to it, feeling much better now that he's out of the stuffy suit.
His eyes dart back to the painting of Shibuya- other important people, huh? Going against the grand schemer, puppetmaster- it was their end goal. To make sure everything was solved and tied up with a nice little bow.]
We were just helping you reclaim what was rightfully yours.
[Truth, justice and freedom.]
LEGIT, that's what the suits are for, from my understanding!!
[. . . uuuugh the pitter-patter in his chest when he hears that is so unfair. because truly, Akira loves his thieves so fucking much it almost aches. how could he be so lucky to have found his place among them?]
[Akira's grin softens as he ducks his head, bangs falling across his eyes. he lifts a hand to bashfully tug at them, fingers curling through the locks. an idle movement; Yusuke would have seen it before]
. . . you've done that and more for me. All of you.
[unfair. unfair!! cruel!!!]
One day, I'll find a way to repay you all.
all I wanna say is rip Akira (he missed Yusuke's nine-tailed fox edition)
[And the feeling is mutual. Yusuke's not sure, at this point, what Akira could ask for that he would say 'no' to. Okay, maybe one thing, but that's going to extremes. And if it's a life and death situation, sure, he'd give up painting as well.
He does recognize the movement, and knows a few other ticks and tricks he does (there's a difference between twirling a pencil between his fingers flawlessly for an entire minute and the pencil flying off to the other side of the room at first attempt).]
As I said. You deserve it.
[He looks around the room,]
Now, for your stay, I know the Hotel has given you a "room" to spend time in until they properly book you here, [he's actually dreading that- he's overjoyed to have him here because he's really, really missed him, but also- it's bringing Akira into the schemes and ploys of the Hotel] but I am certain it is nothing of the sort.
You can stay here for as long as you want. At any time.
[HE'D NEVER ASK YUSUKE TO GIVE UP PAINTING THAT'D BE LKE ASKING YUSUKE TO NEVER BREATHE AGAIN??]
Thanks. [. . . he can tell there's a bit of apprehension in Yusuke's words, and honestly? after everything he has heard, it isn't surprising. but. . . with one of his most precious people trapped in this hotel, there's no way he can leave now]
[regardless of what happens to him (Akira knows he can take it; he's tough, he's determined, and he's stubborn as shit), he needs to stick around. . . if only to make sure that Yusuke is okay]
Do they have movies in this place? [A BEAT] Normal ones. [NOT PORN] If so, maybe we could grab some popcorn and watch a few.
[Yusuke has to think about it because it has never crossed his mind to watch movies here. He's alone for the bigger part of the day unless there are weird events going on or when he needs to find... company.]
I believe there are. I personally didn't look for them. [He actually bites the inside of his cheek at that.]
I am not sure how -normal- they are. Surely they have to have something entertaining. [But at this point he wouldn't be surprised if the 'entertaining' is filed under 'porn'.]
[Yes, good! He does need to be more social, probably. It's been hard to place trust in anyone that isn't Akira.]
Yes. We can get a bit of food too, as well.
[Imagine that! He has money for food! ... well. Convenience store food, like ramen and packaged lunches, nothing extravagant. As always, the paint supplies get the -extravagant- treatment.]
[once he locates the remote, Akira flops himself across the bed, lying prone on his stomach as he flips the television on. let's see. . . what's this place got on demand. . .]
[. . .]
[please also give him a moment while he wonders if Yusuke has SUDDENLY BECOME FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE--]
Just some popcorn will be fine. [lightly amused] My treat.
[he has like $250 bucks to spend!! he hasn't lost any of it yet!]
[The TV offers nothing but porn and porn advertisements of the Hotel; they've been really pushing the anonymous/masquerade parlor Cloaka and Dagger recently- there's a bunch of cosplay masque-sex related stuff (think corsets and lacy thigh garters).
Yusuke's become an expert on either ignoring these things or pretending to be able to ignore them.]
I will be right back. And no- it is my treat.
[LISTEN he ate curry all the time, let him pay him back with greasy popcorn and chocolate bites.]
[NO. . . ALL HE WANTED WAS A NICE CUTE MOVIE TO WATCH WITH ONE OF HIS BEST FRIENDS. . . WHY DO YOU BETRAY HIM LIKE THIS, HOTEL TELEVISION!!!!! AT LEAST GIVE HIM A SEMI-STEAMY BUT NOT QUITE PORNOGRAPHIC ROMCOM!!!]
[Yusuke does not have to know nor notice the way Akira lingers just a moment too long on that advertisement]
[SCREW YOU HOTEL, HE'LL GET LAID ON HIS OWN TERMS!! HE DOESN'T NEED HELP PUTTING ON THE MOVES!!! HE HAS HIS OWN GAME HE SWEARS]
[Yusuke would look good in a corset, though. and garters are kind of sexy. he wouldn't want full anonymity, but pretend anonymity. . . masks. . . kind of like being a Phantom Thief. . .]
[House always wins, they say. Or, in this case, the Hotel. (and depending on time of day/night, Yusuke could probably be persuaded into something as innocuous as wearing masks (the corset will need some bribery and sweet, sweet words (or his suit to go nuts).
The Hotel will play you that commercial later, again.
Even if it's a short trip, it makes Yusuke smile and he happily opens the door for them to leave.]
There is a part of the hotel where most of the shops are. Like a big Mall. It's hard to miss it, even if you get lost.
[STOP HE IS GOING TO ROB THE HOUSE BLIND LIKE THE THIEF HE IS, things a man tells himself moments before disaster]
[and despite temptation, he's still determined to let Yusuke take the lead!1 give him back some of his own agency, and give him the chance to chase something he wants for a change. if he actually does want it!! any initial encounters will probably be far more romantic than anything else]
[but that said THE THOUGHT POLICE CAN'T STOP HIM FROM DAYDREAMING--]
Ooooh. Maybe I could use my meager funds to buy a coffee maker there.
[THE HOUSE DESERVES IT! Tho, the chances that it will backfire on Akira are 99.99%
There's nothing really specific he wants to do right now, except spend more time with Akira. He hasn't seen him in almost a year, let him soak in the company!
you mean the THOT police. More accurate and no, it can't stop him.
Yusuke will actually appreciate a bit of romantic touch in this hole of endless debauchery.]
You could! I'll help you. Getting a proper coffee maker that matches LeBlanc's is of utmost importance to be able to make that outstanding coffee!
[...It's been a while since he had an actual goal in mind that isn't finishing a painting.]
[his initial persona is Arsene Lupin, gentleman thief known for falling head over heels for a pretty face at the drop of a hat, Akira totally has a streak of romanticism in his li'l heart]
Boss's house blend is pretty peculiar, but with the right beans of good quality, I could recreate it in no time.
[though this conversation does make him wonder. . .]
What do you spend your money on, here? Other than food and art supplies.
I have the utmost fate in your coffee brewing skills.
[Honestly, the easiest way to Yusuke's heart- coffee, food and art supplies.]
Nothing much, honestly. However, [his cheeks do dust pink a little,] considering I am being 'picky' - according to the Hotel - my "income" is also on the average side.
[So basically food, paint supplies and MAYBE accessory or two and his money's gone.]
[NO MATTER WHERE YUSUKE GOES HE IS ALWAYS BROKE. . .]
[. . . though the comment about being picky gives Akira pause, because it makes him realize. . . he actually has no idea what Yusuke looks for in a partner. it had simply never crossed his mind before now, busy as they were back home conquering Palace after Palace, slicing through Shadow after Shadow. Akira had never entertained the idea of relationships and intimacy when it came to his team. . . not because he hadn't noticed his thieves in that manner, of course. most of them (Yusuke included) had given Akira pause at least once or twice, allowing him to nurture a fleeting thought, a momentary curiosity, before he'd let it go to drift off in the wind like a wayward butterfly, never to be seen again]
[he always felt as though he had no need for anything more than the support and friendship of his team. they were his cohorts and co-conspirators; the people who had given his life meaning. was there anything more precious in the world than that?]
[this place. . .]
[. . . well. it makes him wonder. and for once, he cups that butterfly gingerly between his palms, and he contemplates. . .]
[does Yusuke like to hold hands? is he content to sit in silence, or would he rather fill the void with comfortable chatter? does he prefer a bit of build up beforehand, or would he rather skip the formalities? that captivating look he has when he is painting a subject, that intense gaze of his that seems to strip whatever he captures in his art down to its barest parts, soul exposed. . . is that only for art, or—]
[Akira doesn't wear his thoughts on his sleeve, but a light dusting of pink blossoms on his features too. he cuts through the flush with a sharp grin, fingers snagging at Yusuke's as he joins their hands together like it's the most natural thing in the world]
I bet you and I could run a damn good hustle in the casino, if we wanted.
omg I have girl here that's spades, it's awesome 8D!
I have no doubt about that, Akira. We worked hard to be able to pull the rug from underneath Akechi's feet. It would be a pity not to reap the rewards of looking cool.

[also Fox that's not healthy, help?? Akira is gonna drag him out to be social!1]
Might as well give it a try. Hotels usually have a bank of movies you can watch from the TV in your room, right?
[time to look around for a television remote!]
