【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
Due to a high volume of check-ins, temporary accommodations have been made in our parking garage for all new arrivals. We aim to have all guests moved into their reserved rooms as soon as possible. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience!
All are invited to There Is No Tomorrow, a Phoenix Casino soiree to celebrate our beloved guests. The festivities will begin at 1800 hours on January 20th and end at 1800 hours on January 27th. Please look forward to 168 hours of delight.
In an effort to raise happiness and encourage better guest relationships, attendance is required. The house will assist guests that are too shy to appear of their own accord. Please note that black tie attire is mandatory. As always, we hope you enjoy your stay! 】
PARKING GARAGE
ANY CAR IN A STORM
PHOENIX CASINO HALL
WELCOME TO THE NEXT 168 HOURS
Phoenix Casino is a-flutter with activity and packed to the beak with guests. As a famously ever-changing space, the staff would be remiss if they didn't deck the crown jewel of the Golden Peacock out. The casino glitters from top to bottom, shining brighter than diamonds, rubies, sapphires, opals! Party-goers are shiny and glamorous with picture perfect makeup, fluttering gowns, and sharp suits. Card tables are packed and the slot machines are a-ringing as guests play, play, play! Prizes, luxury, booze, attractive people, it's the place that everyone wants to be at.
Those people being dragged inside by some invisible force...? Silly, they were so excited to come that their bodies moved before they realized what was happening. Those are struggles of joy and definitely not the casino's infamous ghost hands dragging unwilling guests to the party at the behest of the house. Look, they're literally hurling their bodies at the card tables with unrestrained glee!
All clocks indicating day hours and night hours have been removed from the casino. Once a guest has entered, their Watch will jam, making it impossible to keep track of the time. You don't need to worry about that tonight.
▶ All characters on the TDM are WILDCARDS, which means they have not yet been assigned a card value. Suits will not manifest until characters are accepted into the game.
▶ All TDMs are game canon. This TDM acts as the game's January event.
▶ Current characters may top level on the TDM. Any current characters posting to the TDM should note they are current in their subject header.
▶ The top level directory is for new characters only. We want to make sure new characters are prioritized and receive attention! If you would be interested in a game invitation, you can note that in your comment header. This month we also have an ongoing ATP / EMP where players can connect. Please feel free to utilize this for all of your peafowl needs!
▶ If you aren't satisfied with these prompts, please feel free to check out our LOCATIONS to explore more of the resort!
▶ Smut threads that take place on this TDM can be used for rewards. If both parties in the smut thread join the game, you may retroactively apply the character's initial card values to your 52 bank. If one character does not join the game the thread will not be applicable toward rewards (as that character would not have a card value). The character that does join would still receive a small payout for the encounter. Hopefully it was a fun thread regardless!
▶ We ask you to kindly add content warnings to your threads as appropriate.
▶ If you do not currently have permissions and kinks listed in your character’s journal we suggest leaving a note in your top level of any limits or boundaries for other players to reference.
[hnngh. . . he doesn't like that, either!! coffee is what he had been expecting, and its absence feels. . . almost wrong. like something that should be there just isn't anymore]
[. . .]
Aha. I actually don't think he was.
[he thinks back to how quickly emotional Yusuke had become at the mere thought of being able to destroy whatever entity was responsible for this place. he wonders if Akechi would be the same]
Your turn to roll. [he taps the dice] . . . but only if you want.
No, hm. Perhaps he regrets the fact that you're here too. [After all, Akira has so many better things to be doing back in their world. Yusuke, too. But him...]
I'm not afraid of a few little dice. [He picks them up, giving Akira a flat look. And what happens when this game gives them the prompt to do something more... risque? He'll cross that bridge when he gets to it.
Because it doesn't matter for this role. He rolls 3-11 -- kiss knee. Honestly, he's almost disappointed.]
So much for "the House always wins". Anyway. [He gestures vaguely, more than a little bit amused at the dice's inability to get anything steamy.] Are you going to back down? There'd be no shame in it.
[He means it, honestly... but his tone implies otherwise. He can't help but try to bait Akira along in this game.]
The House always wins until a thief robs them blind, detective.
[the cheek!! but he relaxes a bit when Akechi picks up the dice. good. . . the game is still on, which he takes to mean that Akechi doesn't feel trapped in this very moment. after all, Akira is more than glad to return their usual push-pull. their dynamic was something. . . unique. and as much as he missed Akechi, he also missed the constant pressure to improve and better himself, just to be a worthy rival]
[and. . . these sorts of dumb games. . . they should be fun, right? not marred by some supernatural forces who cannot seem to understand the human heart]
[that's what Akira likes to think, anyway]
[he grins a li'l at the dice, arms folded as he leans back in his chair, chin lifted]
It's a lot better than "slap nose." And I didn't back down from that one.
[he swings both legs out from under the table, crossing one over the other, and nods towards the top knee]
Well, then?

[Oh, that sends a shiver up his spine. He'd kill to see Joker take the House down for all it's worth. He's not sure that's even possible, but... it makes his eyes narrow in violent delight regardless.
Right, their game. Akechi considers for a moment, and then rises from his chair. He kneels before Akira, one glove hand coming to cup his thigh and hold the leg steady. Then he leans in slowly, planting a gentle kiss on the fabric of his pants -- all while maintaining eye contact with Akira.
As if nothing happened, he gets up and returns to his seat.]
[if Akechi is maintaining eye contact (what kind of power move is that!!) then Akira is as well. . . which means Akechi has a nice view of the splotches of pink that blossom to life on his cheeks. it isn't enough to alter his expression, though; he quirks a brow when fingers touch his thigh, when lips touch his knee, but otherwise his features remain stony. unaffected. this ain't nothin'!1]
[(dimly, he knows better. he doesn't linger on that)]
[. . . Akechi retakes his seat, and Akira clears his throat, quickly snatching the dice back up into his hand to rattle them some more]
I suppose that makes the score one to one. [three more points to go!!!] Hn. . . can I ask you some questions while we keep playing?
[because he has like a billion and he doesn't really want to hold them all in until the game is over]
[That's exactly what he wanted. The slip up, just a hint of his composure cracking. The fact it's only a fraction somehow makes it sweeter -- he would've been disappointed if Akira broke so easily.
Akechi leans back in his chair, smugly satisfied. He lazily drapes one arm over the back of it.]
Hmmm. Alright. [He contemplates for a moment.] I'd ask for something in return, but I'm feeling generous. Go on.
[since most of his relationships back home-- his Confidants-- began with some kind of quid pro quo. Akechi was one of those. sometimes, it's just instinct for him to offer that in return]
[smartly, Akira rolls the dice before continuing, rolling a 1 and a 7 for tickle neck. the dice are killing me, but he seems quite entertained by this roll. is Akechi ticklish. . .? he actually has no idea]
First question-- [. . .] . . . what is the last thing you remember back home?
[The look he gives Akira is both mischievous and hungry... but he files that away for later.
But he frowns at the dice, and doesn't move. It's acceptable, but Akira's also going to have to get past an intimidating glare to get this point. Just try it, buddy.
However, the question does distract him.] It would've been.... January, if I recall correctly. We had just rescued Yoshizawa from-- [He pauses, debating if he should give names when he doesn't know when Akira's from.] --The palace ruler.
[also. oh my god. is he truly the only one here who knows what happened to Maruki. with a distant thousand-yard stare, he sucks in a deep breath and lets it out slowly, eyes slipping shut]
[. . . and then, rather suddenly, he pops out of his seat and leans across the table, fingers immediately going for Akechi's neck in a SURPRISE TICKLE ATTACK]
[since he is pretty sure this is the only way the task is getting done, judging by the death glare he just got]
-- mind out of the gutter! That's not what I meant by favor!
