PHOENIX CASINO HALL
WELCOME TO THE NEXT 168 HOURS
Phoenix Casino is a-flutter with activity and packed to the beak with guests. As a famously ever-changing space, the staff would be remiss if they didn't deck the crown jewel of the Golden Peacock out. The casino glitters from top to bottom, shining brighter than diamonds, rubies, sapphires, opals! Party-goers are shiny and glamorous with picture perfect makeup, fluttering gowns, and sharp suits. Card tables are packed and the slot machines are a-ringing as guests play, play, play! Prizes, luxury, booze, attractive people, it's the place that everyone wants to be at.
Those people being dragged inside by some invisible force...? Silly, they were so excited to come that their bodies moved before they realized what was happening. Those are struggles of joy and definitely not the casino's infamous ghost hands dragging unwilling guests to the party at the behest of the house. Look, they're literally hurling their bodies at the card tables with unrestrained glee!
All clocks indicating day hours and night hours have been removed from the casino. Once a guest has entered, their Watch will jam, making it impossible to keep track of the time. You don't need to worry about that tonight.

[ Awkward, but she can manage. Right? Her smile in her companion's direction is sympathetic—even if she can't full see her yet, buried under the covers as she is—and she reaches for the bag to open it, flicking quickly through its contents.
Her face turns pink.
...Well. Some of these things are very much not meant for helping with hangovers, but that's beside the point.
She's able, at the very least, to resurface with a water bottle and a packet of aspirin. She takes two of the pills for herself before recapping the bottle and sliding it and the packet under the covers, approximately where it looks like the other's head must be. ]
Here. This should help. As for the light... give me a moment, okay?
[ She slips out of the bed, trying to ignore the fact that she's completely naked, and crosses the room to close the blinds and dim the lights until they're no longer burning holes of pain into her eyes. ]
There.
[ And she'll cross back to the bed once more, sliding under the covers. Somehow, being naked seems like a lesser evil than the discomfort of that beautiful dress... ]
[ The covers shielding her from the light also means that Hilda misses the rifling through the bag and the subsequent blush that colours her bedmate's cheeks. The jury is still out on whether or not she'd have similar reaction but maybe they'll get to that point eventually.
A grateful little noise follows the passing of the pills and the bottle of water and it's only then that Hilda slowly begins emerges. It's not like her to be in front of a stranger without some sort of attention paid to her appearance but these are extraordinary circumstances. She only catches a glimpse of Aerith's ass as she hurriedly shuts her eyes to shield them from the light and it's only once her companion returns to the bed and is sufficiently covered that she opens her eyes again. ]
Thank you. [ And as she pops the aspirin other more pertinent matters surface. ] ...You wouldn't happen to remember anything from the night before, would you?
[ She smiles at the stranger, although compared to her usual brightness, there's a certain strain to the expression. At any other time, she might cheerfully compliment Hilda on the beautiful color of her hair, but as it stands right now her thoughts are on other things entirely—
Namely, the same thing which Hilda asks about in the next moment.
After a moment, though, Aerith is forced to shake her head. ]
There was a party, and there was that horrid dress, and there was champagne. Honestly, I don't think I even drank enough to feel as bad as I do now, you know? But... well, since I arrived here yesterday, it seems to have been one thing after another with this place, so maybe this is just how things go here.
[ She offers the other an apologetic wince of a smile. ]
How about you? Any memories that could help us out?
[ At least they're both out of sorts. Were it not for the raging hangover and worrying gaps in her memory, Hilda probably would have tried to make some kind of joke to lighten the mood and/or comfort the young woman before her. She'll get there eventually...once the aspirin kicks in.
Or maybe the news that her bedmate is new is more than enough to nudge her recovery a little further along. Her recent arrival is met with a sympathetic expression. ]
That's exactly how it tends to go here. One minute you're in your world and the next you're here in some silly get up or lack of.
[ Clearly she's speaking from experience. ]
I think I remember things more or less the same as you. There was a party and then we weren't allowed to leave the party and I thought I took a nap somewhere on a chair.
[ Her voice trails off as her gaze sweeps around the room towards their dresses before flitting back towards Aerith. A teasing little lilt creeping into her voice in an attempt to make light of this all. ]
If we had met the night before I definitely would have remembered you. That pink would have looked great against your complexion.
[ She can't help but laugh at that. It's true—before the dress, there was that barely-there robe, and a car that wouldn't let her out until... well. She's learned very quickly that this place, or the people who run it, have an agenda.
To Hilda's statement about the party, she nods. The party definitely seemed to have gone on for too long, and she's sure she tried to leave at least twice—once in the hopes of finding herself more comfortable to wear, once because it had been a long time and she was tired—and last she remembers, she was...
Actually, the night itself is something of a blur. She remembers events, but not necessarily when they happened, the timeline itself something of a jigsaw.
She's still puzzling it over when her companion speaks again, and Aerith looks up in surprise, a laugh on her lips and a faint light of color on her cheeks. Her own voice lilts in the same way when she replies. ]
It's my favorite color, actually. We would have made quite the pair, wouldn't we? Between my dress and your hair, I can imagine everyone would have had their eyes on us.
[ If the agenda is a good dose of ridiculousness to break up the fact that they're all forced to have sex with one another then the resort is getting full marks on that front. And while Hilda had always admired those with that level of diligence she can't say she was feeling very admirable at this moment.
Thankfully Aerith's laugh is as good a signal as any that the levity from before had found its mark and serves to bolster her mood in turn. Flipping onto her side to face her Hilda cradles her head in her hand as she regards her. ]
I'm usually so shy [ Though with the ease to which she says it is probably hard to imagine that's the truth. ] but if you were there I probably wouldn't have minded.
[ And it's at that point she extends a hand, warmth beginning to break through the tiredness her features. ]
I'm Hilda. I'm sorry if we introduced ourselves the other night and forgot.
[ Aerith laughs in answer, but it's not a mean sound; if anything, it's fond and affectionate, her gaze gentle as she reaches out her hand in response, taking Hilda's to shake—something of a strange motion, given that they're both still in the bed, but she does it all the same. ]
You don't seem that shy to me, you know~. I guess I can't be that great a judge, because we've known each other for maybe two seconds, but you seem quite kind and friendly to me. If we did party together, I'm sure we had tons of fun.
[ Her eyes twinkle with warmth, and she squeezes the other's hand before letting go again. ]
I'm Aerith. Whether it's the first time or the second time we're meeting each other, I can say for sure it's a pleasure~.
[ The mock gasp given to her in return is merely for play as is the light shove - which is more like a touch - against Aerith's arm once she's released her hand. Apparently she seems intent on sticking to her flimsy words even if the laughter that peeks through the paper thin facade is incredibly revealing of the opposite. ]
I am! I'm so shy.
[ The playful offence recedes left with nothing but an equal amount of warmth as she finally attempts to stir from the bed. Apparently the smell of the hot breakfast is enough to rouse her. ]
The pleasure is all mine; I think I won in terms of waking up with a pretty face in my bed.
[ And now it's her turn to quickly slip out of bed naked. She's back in the nick of time however, sliding the large tray laden with food, coffee and tea between them as she pulls the sheets up over her chest both for modesty sake and to hide the nasty scar that snakes diagonally between her breasts. ]
Since you arrived last night, is there anything you have questions about? Aside from the obvious lapse in our memories that is.
[ Aerith laughs, bright and warm, reaching out to nudge back against Hilda just for a moment. When the other woman gets out of the bed though, she turns her head, politely averting her gaze despite the curiosity and interest tugging insistently at her insides. It's only once she feels the weight of the other woman settling back into the bed that she looks back, catching the barest glimpse of the scar across her chest before she covers it with the sheets.
It's not her business, so she doesn't ask. Instead, she looks with bright emerald eyes over the tray and the variety of foods filling it. ]
Despite everything, they treat us pretty well here, don't they?
[ But Hilda is asking her a question, and so she shifts her attention, listening to the other woman as she nods. Does she have any questions? Well... ]
Is it always like this? Cars that lock you inside until you have sex, endless parties, gambling games and roulettes that end with you holding a sex toy you're expected to use...
[ She pauses, a small frown forming on her features. ]
[ There's something distinctly different when it comes to being admired by the female gaze than the male one in that Hilda had always found herself appreciating it more. She can feel the slight trail of green eyes on her but she waves away the feeling and Aerith's curiosity as nothing more than that.
Instead her eyes gaze over the spread which she had to begrudgingly admit looks appetizing as it smells. Even with her rumbling stomach there's a somewhat critical lens at which she appraises the gray. Leave it to the resort to slip something with an aphrodisiac into it. The bowl of round, bright grapes however seem to be the most innocuous so that's what she goes for first. Plucking one off of the stem she then offers one towards Aerith. ]
It's a little like that in varying shades and flavours. As for not playing...
[ Her gaze darkens, eyes flitting towards the dormant club tattoo on the inside of her wrist. ]
Your tattoo will get darker if you don't and speaking from others, each of the suits come with their own set of effects. [ Because of course they do. ] And if you don't have sex after that you apparently start turning into stone.
