PARKING GARAGE
ANY CAR IN A STORM
PHOENIX CASINO HALL
WELCOME TO THE NEXT 168 HOURS
Phoenix Casino is a-flutter with activity and packed to the beak with guests. As a famously ever-changing space, the staff would be remiss if they didn't deck the crown jewel of the Golden Peacock out. The casino glitters from top to bottom, shining brighter than diamonds, rubies, sapphires, opals! Party-goers are shiny and glamorous with picture perfect makeup, fluttering gowns, and sharp suits. Card tables are packed and the slot machines are a-ringing as guests play, play, play! Prizes, luxury, booze, attractive people, it's the place that everyone wants to be at.
Those people being dragged inside by some invisible force...? Silly, they were so excited to come that their bodies moved before they realized what was happening. Those are struggles of joy and definitely not the casino's infamous ghost hands dragging unwilling guests to the party at the behest of the house. Look, they're literally hurling their bodies at the card tables with unrestrained glee!
All clocks indicating day hours and night hours have been removed from the casino. Once a guest has entered, their Watch will jam, making it impossible to keep track of the time. You don't need to worry about that tonight.

▶ Smut threads that take place on this TDM can be used for rewards. If both parties in the smut thread join the game, you may retroactively apply the character's initial card values to your 52 bank. If one character does not join the game the thread will not be applicable toward rewards (as that character would not have a card value). The character that does join would still receive a small payout for the encounter. Hopefully it was a fun thread regardless!

[Well, it's not so ticklish as much as just... Weird. Weird enough to make him laugh, pulling away so that he can hide it behind his hand.]
I think that covers your end of the roll. It's not so bad, right?
[There! Nothing too weird, right? Though judging by the red flush on his partners face, he hopes that his roll won't be too rough for her. He'll grab the dice from where they've landed, giving them a shake in his hands a few times before letting them loose to roll...
Lick Mouth command the dice.
Well. They are dirty dice for a reason, huh? Still, he can't help but give a nervous, sheepish sort of smile in apology. He's jinxed it.]
Well... If you don't have the funds, they might make you pay up in other ways until they're satisfied.
[ He doesn't want to lose, but he also doesn't really want to force anyone into anything. Butnat the same time, why play the game in the first place if you don't know what you're in for? ]
If I may ask... what drew you to play this game in particular? It's fairly obvious what it is...
[For a moment, she stared blankly. Then she gave a small noise as she realised, her face paling. Then rapidly flushing. More at being called out. Naoto reached up, fingers grasping for a hat that wasn't there. Instead, she settled for scratching the back of her head.]
I...Was not aware at the time. Whenever I tried to leave, I was forcibly thrown back to a table. After several attempts- [A shrug.] I joined the next game I was thrown to.
[It was a definite lesson in 'don't think anything is normal here'. Up until realising the contents of the game, this place had been strange. But the most sinister part had been waking up redressed.
She was still going to kick herself for it.
Though she startled at his offer, dragging her gaze back to him. Blinking.]
I...You said there were penalties, I couldn't ask you to suffer such a thing.
[But was kissing her licking her mouth any less suffering? Naoto hated it, but she fidgeted. Her mouth feeling dry as she tried to think of the right words. Ignoring her cheeks heating up.]
It's-It's not as though it's something of importance. [There was so much sentimentality over first kisses. But statistically, due to lack of experience, wouldn't that be the worst one? The only thing that made it intermate was the feelings, so a not-kiss with a stranger she'd probably never see again wasn't that important right?
Was she overthinking it?
Maybe.
Was she also turning into a tomato while thinking about it? yes]
B-besides, it'd just be my round again after.
[Three rounds each...Wasn't that it? It was better she took his offer of a dive in case something more drastic appeared... But didn't that go against her previous statement?]
It'd be better for me to take the penalty than you, probably.
[At least he has his King Rank to back him up in most circumstances, it'd probably even do him well here, if he's honest. Especially if she seems to be getting so worked up about it to begin with. It really isn't fair to throw her in the deep end so soon, even if this is, admittedly, rather tame in comparison to everything else that could have happened and has happened previously. ]
It wouldn't be if I ditched for the rest of the game. Then you'd be able to get free of it and go elsewhere.
[Naoto was still hesitant. He might have enough money for the penalty, but he was still losing something for her sake wasn't he? But he seemed rather adamant that he'd be fine. Naoto had certainly learnt her lesson too. She was going to stay well away from the tables for the rest of the night.
For now, she frowned up at him. Feeling oh-so short in her borrowed shoes.]
No. I suppose I don't. [At least he didn't seem like there was an ulterior motive to helping her. Though she she wasn't sure what to do, other than avoid the game tables from now one.]
[It's that easy. He pushes himself away from the table and stands. As he does, a ding chirps from his watch, announcing a severe deduction of chips from his account. The nearby players look on in disgust, particularly at Naoto, who'd convinced their King to give up and not play such a simple, easy game. She's only a wildcard! There's no telling what her rank could be when she gets checked in. They're whispering about how she's probably a no good low rank.]
Pretty simple, right? Ah, ignore the looks from the other people around... They'll probably forget about this thing in a week or so. They're pretty forgetful.
[Naoto's head snapped to look at his watch, blinking at it. Then frowning at the other players, It turned into a scowl when she heard some of the whispers.
Yeah, she was going to stand and follow him. He was more pleasant than the others and he seemed important. Because she knew she was missing something.]
Yeah, it's based on the card rank you get. Sometimes events flip that on it's head, but normally the kings are at the top, and the 2's are at the bottom.
[He's going to let her follow him. Not like he has much else to do, and sliding in for another game after giving up that one feels a little icky, and even if it probably wouldn't happen again, he'd rather not loose more chips.]
Right now, you're a Wildcard. There's no telling what rank they'll give you, or by what metric they assign it. Same with the suit.
That's right. And it depends. The lowest ranks are treated pretty poorly, and have rooms in the basement that are less than stellar, and haunted to boot. It's flooded down there before, and it was also infested with giant insects that were venomous with a propensity to attack people.
[Which is not very sex casino conducive, quite frankly!]
The midranks are treated better, but obviously the higher your rank, the better you're treated, and the lower your rank, the worse.
thanks rng

here lies Noot, ded before the tdm is over
She didn't answer. Not with words anyway, she just mumbled something illegible. Keeping her gaze off him.
...She'd heard the dice roll. Then? Nothing, he wasn't saying anything. Why wasn't he saying anything??
Slowly she looked up at him, blinking as she tried to understand that smile.
Then she dragged her gaze to the dice...
...
...Oh. OH. Naoto flinched back from the table, then swallowed. ]
Um... Now might be a good time for you to explain what you mean by penalise.... Please?

[ He does feel bad for her, and he leans back a little with a contemplative humm. ]

[A bit silly, in his opinion. He glances back down at the dice, words still facing upwards towards them like a ticking time bomb.]
I'm giving you an out, if you want to take it. I'm not about to kiss someone who is uncomfortable with the idea just because some dice tell me too.

Then broke off to look at the table again.]
No. I suppose I don't. [At least he didn't seem like there was an ulterior motive to helping her. Though she she wasn't sure what to do, other than avoid the game tables from now one.]

So you're a king then? [Urge to snark rising. But that was troubling. She frowned.]
From what just happened, higher ranks are revered. As for lower ranks... How are they treated?
