PHOENIX CASINO HALL
WELCOME TO THE NEXT 168 HOURS
Phoenix Casino is a-flutter with activity and packed to the beak with guests. As a famously ever-changing space, the staff would be remiss if they didn't deck the crown jewel of the Golden Peacock out. The casino glitters from top to bottom, shining brighter than diamonds, rubies, sapphires, opals! Party-goers are shiny and glamorous with picture perfect makeup, fluttering gowns, and sharp suits. Card tables are packed and the slot machines are a-ringing as guests play, play, play! Prizes, luxury, booze, attractive people, it's the place that everyone wants to be at.
Those people being dragged inside by some invisible force...? Silly, they were so excited to come that their bodies moved before they realized what was happening. Those are struggles of joy and definitely not the casino's infamous ghost hands dragging unwilling guests to the party at the behest of the house. Look, they're literally hurling their bodies at the card tables with unrestrained glee!
All clocks indicating day hours and night hours have been removed from the casino. Once a guest has entered, their Watch will jam, making it impossible to keep track of the time. You don't need to worry about that tonight.

There's something familiar about this person. His smile, his physique, his feathery hair. But seeing someone in the flesh is quite different from seeing them carved out of stone, and with Hawks' wings reduced to little nubs (and Hiyori unable to see them since they sit facing each other), he doesn't connect this man with the statue that Bakugo wheeled to his room.

"Red, hmm? A bold choice! ♪"
Hiyori's voice has plenty of pep in it. he's a social butterfly who gets his energy from being around people, and he likes a good party. But parties thrown by the House are rarely good parties, and even Hiyori is bound to grow tired as the festivities rage on with no end in sight. For now, however, he seems to be in good spirits, eyeing his game partner across the table with a friendly smile.
"I don't know if we're also supposed to answer each other's questions, but if so, I'll choose light green! That's my image color, so it's the one that best represents 'me.' But there are other colors I like, too: gold since it's elegant, pink since it's pretty, orange and yellow since they're warm and cheerful like sunshine, black since that's Eden's color, and red like you just said! I know I look ravishing in red~♪"
As he cheerfully prattles on, it's clear he's in no hurry to take his turn. And why should he be? There's no way out of the party. The other games, like that dice game, all sound dirty. It's best for him to remain busy with this card game, so no phantom hands can drag him off to play one of the riskier ones. This game, at least, is safe, if a little on the dull side thanks to these softball questions.
But then he does reach out, extending an arm slowly towards the house of cards. He plucks one card gracefully from the top of the deck, just as Hawks did. And when he sees the question printed there...
"'What's your worst nightmare?'"
His brows shoot way up. He sounds incredulous as he asks, "What sort of icebreaker is that?"
There's nothing familiar about the young man who's sitting opposite him this time, other than his youthful energy. Hawks has his own energy, but this guy reminds him of the heroes even younger than himself, those still in UA or the other schools. There's also a certain melodic nature about his voice that Hawks finds appealing.
"I guess I'm a little biased." he says, with a soft chuckle, "It's the colour of my wings."
He listens as the young man explains his own favourite colours, amusement making a smile play around the corners of his mouth, "Image colour?"
At the question that's printed on the card, Hawks's eyebrows raise and he huffs out a breath, shaking his head, "Is that seriously what it says?" he asks, shaking his head, "What is it about this place, going from zero to 100 in no time flat?" A soft laugh, and he reaches out to take the card from the younger man's fingers and read it himself, and he's shaking his head again.
"That's a hell of an icebreaker, that's for sure." he says, chuckling again, and then taps his fingertip against his lower lip, head tilted a little, "I guess I could say that being burned to death is a particular nightmare to me."
Waving a hand, his expression still relaxed and amused, despite the fact that saying it, thinking about it, but mostly being forced to reveal it is grating on him. Still, he's not going to just show that.
What wings is he talking about? He doesn't see any huge feathery things sticking out of this person's back! Unless maybe they're really small or they're hidden under his suit somehow...?
After nearly a year spent in the resort, Hiyori's encountered people with all sorts of strange features: animal ears and tails, weird markings on their face, vampiric fangs, fur all over their body. Compared to them, the man sitting across from him is seemingly normal. But when he tries to picture the man with wings, all he can think about is that statue. That person from Bakugo's world—
And that's when it hits him, at approximately the same time he reads that "nightmare" question. It's a one-two punch, but his surprise at the man's probable identity eclipses his surprise at the game question. He stares, temporarily shocked into silence. The man's words about burning to death sit there like a lit match between them.
But only temporarily. Hiyori Tomoe never shuts up for too long.
"That does sound rather horrible." He places the card face-down on the table, studying Hawks with his eyes. "I'll tell you my own nightmare in a minute, and I can tell you what an 'image color' means, too. But first I want to ask about those wings. Do you actually have a pair on your back?"
