【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
Due to a high volume of check-ins, temporary accommodations have been made in our parking garage for all new arrivals. We aim to have all guests moved into their reserved rooms as soon as possible. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience!
All are invited to There Is No Tomorrow, a Phoenix Casino soiree to celebrate our beloved guests. The festivities will begin at 1800 hours on January 20th and end at 1800 hours on January 27th. Please look forward to 168 hours of delight.
In an effort to raise happiness and encourage better guest relationships, attendance is required. The house will assist guests that are too shy to appear of their own accord. Please note that black tie attire is mandatory. As always, we hope you enjoy your stay! 】

ANY CAR IN A STORM
PHOENIX CASINO HALL
WELCOME TO THE NEXT 168 HOURS
Phoenix Casino is a-flutter with activity and packed to the beak with guests. As a famously ever-changing space, the staff would be remiss if they didn't deck the crown jewel of the Golden Peacock out. The casino glitters from top to bottom, shining brighter than diamonds, rubies, sapphires, opals! Party-goers are shiny and glamorous with picture perfect makeup, fluttering gowns, and sharp suits. Card tables are packed and the slot machines are a-ringing as guests play, play, play! Prizes, luxury, booze, attractive people, it's the place that everyone wants to be at.
Those people being dragged inside by some invisible force...? Silly, they were so excited to come that their bodies moved before they realized what was happening. Those are struggles of joy and definitely not the casino's infamous ghost hands dragging unwilling guests to the party at the behest of the house. Look, they're literally hurling their bodies at the card tables with unrestrained glee!
All clocks indicating day hours and night hours have been removed from the casino. Once a guest has entered, their Watch will jam, making it impossible to keep track of the time. You don't need to worry about that tonight.
▶ All characters on the TDM are WILDCARDS, which means they have not yet been assigned a card value. Suits will not manifest until characters are accepted into the game.
▶ All TDMs are game canon. This TDM acts as the game's January event.
▶ Current characters may top level on the TDM. Any current characters posting to the TDM should note they are current in their subject header.
▶ The top level directory is for new characters only. We want to make sure new characters are prioritized and receive attention! If you would be interested in a game invitation, you can note that in your comment header. This month we also have an ongoing ATP / EMP where players can connect. Please feel free to utilize this for all of your peafowl needs!
▶ If you aren't satisfied with these prompts, please feel free to check out our LOCATIONS to explore more of the resort!
▶ Smut threads that take place on this TDM can be used for rewards. If both parties in the smut thread join the game, you may retroactively apply the character's initial card values to your 52 bank. If one character does not join the game the thread will not be applicable toward rewards (as that character would not have a card value). The character that does join would still receive a small payout for the encounter. Hopefully it was a fun thread regardless!
▶ We ask you to kindly add content warnings to your threads as appropriate.
▶ If you do not currently have permissions and kinks listed in your character’s journal we suggest leaving a note in your top level of any limits or boundaries for other players to reference.
[ Red is a bit fancy herself. Still, she's a bit of a wallflower for the moment, nursing a drink and watching the swirl of activity. She's out of place. Feels like it, too. This whole place is too fancy, too opulent, too full of overwhelming excess. Especially for someone fresh off of a battlefield.
She glances up as Arlecchino approaches and there's a moment where her eyes narrow, like she can feel the predator underneath the surface. She manages a smile, though. She can play nice. ]
Yeah, they seem pretty set on making us participate... whether we want to or not. You wake up in one of those cars, too?
(hmm. someone that isn't used to this herself? unexpected. arlecchino had intended to find out if the other woman had ideas of her own on what's going on, but it's better not to make too many steps ahead for her sake then. for someone that seems predatory (and is, mind you) there are a few things that she is considerate about. surprisingly, cordial, even. it's best not to ask too much while her clawed hands keep that champagne glass close. as rough as dealing with the knave is, she has enough of a brain to ensure that those who do not wish to deal with her are exempt from her presence.
meaning if they both are checked-in, she'll keep to her lane and allow this other woman her own without any objections. any interactions would be from necessity and otherwise kept to that; her eyes narrowing did tell arlecchino it's best kept to that.)
I did, yes. Although my world does not have....cars, as they're called. I believe they mentioned mine was a limousine.
(a completely glitzy and fancy limo, but that didn't mean she intends to talk about it. if that's their lodgings, they ought to both be mindful and not quite ruin them. be it by driving or learning how to drive; tevyat doesn't have cars and arlecchino would likely crash if not careful.)
[ Those claws are different. It's weird. Well, not weird. Red's used to people growing claws. It's just... not usually when the rest of the person looks so human. Although then again... that's also been changing a bit lately. She frowns and taps her fingers against her own glass as she thinks and then responds. ]
...really? No cars? They've been all over the place for the last few decades. Feels kinda strange you wouldn't have 'em. They're fun to drive.
[ The conversation feels a little bit out of place. But might as well. ]
(aquabus is a completely different thing, that is more a ferry and related to fontaine itself. arlecchino is nursing her own champagne casually, small sips while they converse and think. she did notice the attention on her hands, maybe she should request some gloves. she ought to if people would stare at them. in tevyat they learned quickly to avoid staring for too long, the knave does not take kindly to it. here would be different. perhaps that would be better if she did hide them, it might take some attention off her.
not enough to make a difference, though. the staff and guests are avoiding her for a reason. her usual reason, anyway. she's quite....frightening to deal with. intimidating, or oppressive might fit arlecchino better. that sounded better in the latter case.)
My home is different, admittedly. From our weapons to our methods of transportation, there is no in-between on it. It took me time to learn how to open that limo I was inside of up.
(without breaking the door, she figured that she shouldn't.)
[ She doesn't want to be rude or anything. But claws tend to be a little bit of an attention-grabber when the rest of the person doesn't quite match. She gives her glass a little squeeze and frowns. She has to think about it. ]
No kidding? They seem different from the ones I know, but not too different. Although I guess that's kinda just the way it is here? I dunno how you didn't have cars.
[ She's not trying to be rude. It's just a little mystifying. ]
(thankfully, she did realize that. not all of them are there to look at her like she's a prized animal of some sort. red just so happened to have caught her after the knave has dealt with this for a fair bit of the evening, it's nothing personal. she only grew a little guarded when people hyper fixate on this part of her body. however, that's enough about what arlecchino thinks. she's caught her attention enough. strange, but it isn't as if she assumes any poor soul in this environment would be from tevyat alone. which makes this a unique circumstance.
red is the first person she's met that knows more about technological advances seems like, she hasn't met any others (yet) that might be able to explain more. that's good enough for her to work with. they'll be fine to talk until the other woman desires to leave. not unless red wants someone as oppressive as arlecchino to look around with her, but she wouldn't reject it. not the way she turned down offers of women wanting to find somewhere private in their boldness before she broke away from them.)
Red, then. A pleasure.
(which leaves the other part, about cars. it did make her think, claws tapping along her champagne flute while the gears turn and:)
Technological differences. There are of course some that are more advanced than others, some do have guns for instance. The guns are not like the ones I saw in pictures while being led to the casino hall. They are more flintlocks and pistols, blunderbuss's as well of a sort.
(that might give a broad idea, she thinks, on what she's used to seeing.)
[ She's nursing her own glass, not wanting to have a fuzzy head. She's listening, though, her gaze a touch distant as she tries to fit it all together. She's not the most technologically minded, it must be said, but she understands the world she's come from. She leans a little, considering. ]
The ones where you're from, you mean? We've got all kinds of firearms. Rifles, machine guns, artillery... it's pretty advanced as far as I know. We've also got trains and steamships. And radio.
