PARKING GARAGE
ANY CAR IN A STORM
PHOENIX CASINO HALL
WELCOME TO THE NEXT 168 HOURS
Phoenix Casino is a-flutter with activity and packed to the beak with guests. As a famously ever-changing space, the staff would be remiss if they didn't deck the crown jewel of the Golden Peacock out. The casino glitters from top to bottom, shining brighter than diamonds, rubies, sapphires, opals! Party-goers are shiny and glamorous with picture perfect makeup, fluttering gowns, and sharp suits. Card tables are packed and the slot machines are a-ringing as guests play, play, play! Prizes, luxury, booze, attractive people, it's the place that everyone wants to be at.
Those people being dragged inside by some invisible force...? Silly, they were so excited to come that their bodies moved before they realized what was happening. Those are struggles of joy and definitely not the casino's infamous ghost hands dragging unwilling guests to the party at the behest of the house. Look, they're literally hurling their bodies at the card tables with unrestrained glee!
All clocks indicating day hours and night hours have been removed from the casino. Once a guest has entered, their Watch will jam, making it impossible to keep track of the time. You don't need to worry about that tonight.

▶ All TDMs are game canon. This TDM acts as the game's January event.
▶ Current characters may top level on the TDM. Any current characters posting to the TDM should note they are current in their subject header.
▶ The top level directory is for new characters only. We want to make sure new characters are prioritized and receive attention! If you would be interested in a game invitation, you can note that in your comment header. This month we also have an ongoing ATP / EMP where players can connect. Please feel free to utilize this for all of your peafowl needs!
▶ If you aren't satisfied with these prompts, please feel free to check out our LOCATIONS to explore more of the resort!
▶ Smut threads that take place on this TDM can be used for rewards. If both parties in the smut thread join the game, you may retroactively apply the character's initial card values to your 52 bank. If one character does not join the game the thread will not be applicable toward rewards (as that character would not have a card value). The character that does join would still receive a small payout for the encounter. Hopefully it was a fun thread regardless!

▶ If you do not currently have permissions and kinks listed in your character’s journal we suggest leaving a note in your top level of any limits or boundaries for other players to reference.
[ the way i almost defaulted to eustace and then decided this would be funnier
furina has, by sheer dumb luck, managed to extricate herself from her own locked vehicle, no thanks to the bumbling valet that first dropped his set of keys into a small crevice then almost accidentally slammed the door right on her foot. she's scurrying for the nearest entrance to the resort when she hears it.
the sound of a dead body.
jk dead bodies don't slam on car trunk doors but the sudden cessation of noise could mean? that whoever's inside?? is dead???
eyes wide, hands clutched tight around her very sparkly blue robe, she inches towards the source of the noise. it does not repeat. Oh No. ]
Um, hello? Is there anyone inside?
[ is she really going to have to report a dead body right after escaping a failed kidnapping??? oh gods, what if she's next? ]
[ what do you mean you don't want to play the "have these gbfs ever even met each other before" game again
anyway, correct, he's dead. furina also gets hit by a car and dies instantly. but no, there is another pregnant pause, and this time a voice responds rather than more ominous thumping. muffled, worldweary. done with the hotel before venturing even a step outside of the car he starts in. ]
[ and then they both get isekai'd to the world of arknights and end up with oripathy.
maybe that would be preferable to whatever's going on here, because as soon as that voice echoes out from the car, she shrieks in a high pitch, stumbling backwards in alarm. you think she would have expected an answer after being the one to ask and yet.
but, well, good. whoever's inside isn't dead. at least there's that. however, ]
Kidnapper? How dare you imply that I, Furina de Fontaine, would stoop to such lows as to kidnap someone for my own gain!
[ she may be a disgraced fake archon but she still has her dignity!!!!!! ]
How do I know you weren't the one who kidnapped me and that this is all a part of your elaborate ruse?
[ probably because he's locked in a trunk, that's how. ]
[ he's used to being around kids, where noise is just the inevitable, but it's much less endearing from a grown adult. maybe the barrier of the trunk is a blessing in disguise, actually. it's not even that cramped in here. a very luxurious trunk for an equally luxurious vehicle. he doesn't even need a room.
but he should try to get out of here while he has the attention of someone who probably did not abduct him. there is still a short, judgmental little pause. ]
You think I'd kidnap you, trip into the trunk of my own car, and then get locked in?
[ he could stand to be more grateful, and yet... he just opens his eye to stare at the roof of the trunk, folding his hands across his stomach and carrying on. ]
Sorry, but you're clearly the more suspicious one here.
[ okay but dramatics and long-winded convoluted methods are the fontainian way? he can't blame her for simply following the logic of her people. even if, as he points it out piece by piece, it all begins to sound a bit ludicrous even to her own ears. ]
That's....Well...
[ she has no rebuttal. that will not stop her from rallying herself again. ]
Then who did kidnap us, if it wasn't you or me? And why did I end up in the back of one of these [ oh so that's what they're called ] cars while you ended up in the trunk?
[
... ]
Wait. Is there someone else in there with you too?
[ ah, the fictional french. also i actually have forgotten if they have cars in gbf. they have air cars.
he is continuously struck silent by this conversation, but it's just so stupid that he can't fully begrudge it. he is still in this trunk. they have made no progress whatsoever, not in identifying who did this, nor in rectifying the situation. do trunks have a limited amount of oxygen?
he sighs and skips the kidnapping bit, rather than admit he has no idea what's happening. that's a bit too much to give away, so he'd rather take a different tack. calmly, with no intonation at all: ]
Sure. Yes. There's a dozen of us, give or take.
[ said as matter-of-factly as possible. she will soon have ten plus dead bodies on her hand. ]
[ when they have mechas that can go to the moon but they don't have cars....truly gbf is hell
and nehan is the devil, sent up personally to torment furina even after 500 years of misery. at the news, her face goes pale. her hand, still wrapped tight around her robe, trembles. her breathing grows shallow in her chest. ]
A—a dozen?
[ ah yes, let's not forget the way her pitch rises half an octave. ]
We....we have to get you out of there! Before it becomes a dozen and one.
[ the valet, she can go fetch the valet! surely he must still be down here!! her head swivels too and fro, frantic in her search for the bumbling man from earlier. and yes, there he is, propped up against a wall with his cap pulled over his face. ]
J-just wait right there, don't go anywhere. I'll be right back with help!
[ literally where is there to go? but hey, at least it worked. ]
anyway, he is perhaps not a heartless monster, so he does feel a twinge of guilt at her sudden panic. but just think about the relief she'll feel when she opens the trunk and there's just one guy?
no, still bad. ]
...Ah. Wait.
[ but she does not wait. on the other hand, he has literally no options but to wait, so he does, shifting in place before awkwardly closing his eyes, forced to reflect on his actions as she goes off to rescue him. at least she seems to be earnest in coming back. ]
[ and return she does not two minutes later, the sound of not one but two pairs of feet outside the trunk a sure herald of good news. there's some murmured conversation, the jingle of a keyring, and then the highpitched beep of a car unlocking.
and then open pops the trunk, letting in a shower of.....well, not bright sunlight but dim garage lighting. hey, it's better than nothing. ]
Please be alright, please be alright, please be al—you're alright!
[ free at last. though he somehow ends up dreading as the trunk flies open in a hurry, letting in a much-needed blast of air. the draft is what finally clues him in on the fact that he's wearing a ridiculous slip of a robe, with a faux feather collar that is just flying everywhere in the disturbance.
oh, to feel as stupid as he looks. who knew he could be forced to be so contrite within minutes. he's supposed to be a tough guy, but she just seemed so relieved. ]
So I am.
[ awkward............. he sits up, tugging his robe up a shoulder as he formulates a response. ]
...Sorry. I didn't expect you to run off so quickly.
well, it doesn't really matter in the end. the fact that this mystery man with the ears is alive and alright is what matters. even if the fact that she's been played for a fool turns her face red with embarrassment. ]
It's...it's fine, I suppose. So long as you're alright.
[ the valet, satisfied with a job well done, bumbles off again. hopefully nehan and his disintegrating body doesn't need help getting out of the trunk. ]
[ so generous... he does her the favor of 'failing' to notice how tomato-red she's turned. at least they've worked through the worst of this, and now he is a free man in a stupid frilly robe.
the last awkward step is, indeed, getting out of here. but thankfully, besides being packed up like a sardine, he's not injured; he pulls his bad leg over the edge of the trunk with one hand, then follows it with the other. ]
Yes, I'm fine. My ego is more bruised than my body.
[ which is weird, considering he must've been attacked to have been brought here. ]
[ de fontaine. everyone's heard of her. except for the part where no one here has ever heard of her at all! which is both disappointing and relieving at the same time. she finally loosens her grip on her robe, shifting her hands so they can rest on her hips? ]
[ predictably, there's no recognition. she gets to start off as a relative nobody, at least while it's just her, him, and a shiny sports car in a strange new parking lot. he takes the one amenity he's been given—a crutch, rolled into the back of the trunk—and uses it to carefully step out onto the asphalt. ]
Nehan.
[ otherwise known as a big fat liar. ]
We should get moving in case any real kidnappers decide to show up... Furina.
[ she looks young enough that he'll drop any titles between them. ]
