【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
Due to a high volume of check-ins, temporary accommodations have been made in our parking garage for all new arrivals. We aim to have all guests moved into their reserved rooms as soon as possible. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience!
All are invited to There Is No Tomorrow, a Phoenix Casino soiree to celebrate our beloved guests. The festivities will begin at 1800 hours on January 20th and end at 1800 hours on January 27th. Please look forward to 168 hours of delight.
In an effort to raise happiness and encourage better guest relationships, attendance is required. The house will assist guests that are too shy to appear of their own accord. Please note that black tie attire is mandatory. As always, we hope you enjoy your stay! 】

PHOENIX CASINO HALL
WELCOME TO THE NEXT 168 HOURS
Phoenix Casino is a-flutter with activity and packed to the beak with guests. As a famously ever-changing space, the staff would be remiss if they didn't deck the crown jewel of the Golden Peacock out. The casino glitters from top to bottom, shining brighter than diamonds, rubies, sapphires, opals! Party-goers are shiny and glamorous with picture perfect makeup, fluttering gowns, and sharp suits. Card tables are packed and the slot machines are a-ringing as guests play, play, play! Prizes, luxury, booze, attractive people, it's the place that everyone wants to be at.
Those people being dragged inside by some invisible force...? Silly, they were so excited to come that their bodies moved before they realized what was happening. Those are struggles of joy and definitely not the casino's infamous ghost hands dragging unwilling guests to the party at the behest of the house. Look, they're literally hurling their bodies at the card tables with unrestrained glee!
All clocks indicating day hours and night hours have been removed from the casino. Once a guest has entered, their Watch will jam, making it impossible to keep track of the time. You don't need to worry about that tonight.
▶ All characters on the TDM are WILDCARDS, which means they have not yet been assigned a card value. Suits will not manifest until characters are accepted into the game.
▶ All TDMs are game canon. This TDM acts as the game's January event.
▶ Current characters may top level on the TDM. Any current characters posting to the TDM should note they are current in their subject header.
▶ The top level directory is for new characters only. We want to make sure new characters are prioritized and receive attention! If you would be interested in a game invitation, you can note that in your comment header. This month we also have an ongoing ATP / EMP where players can connect. Please feel free to utilize this for all of your peafowl needs!
▶ If you aren't satisfied with these prompts, please feel free to check out our LOCATIONS to explore more of the resort!
▶ Smut threads that take place on this TDM can be used for rewards. If both parties in the smut thread join the game, you may retroactively apply the character's initial card values to your 52 bank. If one character does not join the game the thread will not be applicable toward rewards (as that character would not have a card value). The character that does join would still receive a small payout for the encounter. Hopefully it was a fun thread regardless!

( Oh, a feisty one. Now, that's unexpected, but no one can say it's unappreciated by someone like Jae Ha. In response to the yank, Jae Ha swings to latch himself completely around Gen's waist, clinging like his life depends on it. His expression doesn't match the part, though, since he's got this wide sort of intrigued smirk instead of anything worried. )
Don't tell me that idle floating was intentional? ( He's seen baby birds more graceful? But he claws at Gen, trying to pull him down with him. Can it float two at once?! ) Is it a talent of yours?
[ It's a question that seems like it's being put to the test. Though not through any intentional means on Gen's part, who, having newly acquired hand freedom once more, is putting it on top of Jae Ha's head to try to push him down. ]
And what if it is?
[ It's decidedly not, and there was a good reason he didn't look particularly graceful, since he's never really experienced the sensation of relative weightlessness before. ]
I'm allowed to float around here if I feel like it!
[ The fact that he's gripping so hard onto the column to keep himself from floating up again doesn't really suggest that he felt like it, but sure. ]
( Ah. He's appealing to his freedom-loving side. Jae Ha considers this for a moment, takes one glance down at the floor beneath them (empty enough!) and then drops from his grip to land gracefully with a touchdown of his right foot.
Immediately afterwards, he places a hand on his hip and looks up, calling out to his new floating friend. )
My mistake, you're right! Why don't you show us all how far you can float?
( He's joking around, here... Really, he could see that lack of control from a mile away, as a man who practically lives in the skies. So, he's down here to be able to catch him when he inevitably comes crashing down. )
[ Whatever Gen expected to come out of this, it's entirely his fault when Jae Ha lets go like he is physically and verbally demanding, and he is forced to scramble and grab the column with both arms to keep himself from floating towards the ceiling again, though he does make it a good few more feet upwards before he steadies himself properly.
So close to getting back to the ground, and he had to go and get fussy because he's easily indignant. Fool behavior. Fortunately he's got quick reflexes and arms that are much stronger than they look.
Really, the worst blow he's taking right now is to the old pride. ]
( Jae Ha is content to wait this out and see what happens. After all, there's some strength that he's admiring here, in the way Gen is clinging to that column up here. )
It takes some arm strength to keep holding on like that. Aren't you getting tired?
( Drawn out a little teasingly, Jae Ha takes a couple of steps to one side, as if to better view him from down here. He'll catch him if it comes to it, again— but he wants to see how he manages it first. Is he still floating? Is he still out of control? Can he keep clinging to that column? )
[ The teasing gets a sharp look from Gen, his short brows pinching together as he moves to cling tighter to the column as if proving a point.
Though it really just makes it look like he's fighting harder to hold on, whether that's entire true or not. ]
Not even a little bit.
[ And that part isn't entirely untrue. The man might not look like it at a glance, but he does put himself through some pretty strenuous physical training on a daily basis. While back home he happens to have some impressive pieces of technology that help him do a lot of literal and metaphorical heavy lifting, he's got to be in pretty good shape in order to use them in the first place. ]
[ Stick around, get to know him better, the cringe will just increase over time. The sort of embarrassment that Gen has put himself through over the years is legendary, and this has nothing on it!
Though he does look like a yowling cat caught in a tree, so it's not like he's exactly radiating dignity at the moment. ]
[ Until the comedy runs dry, though he didn't have that much to drink so surely the timer is counting down already to a sudden return to normally functioning gravity for him. ]
The hell you can!
[ His arm is unconsciously flexing at that as he tightens his hold.
And perhaps not a moment too soon, because sure enough, there it is: the drop.
Despite his steady grip on the column, Gen is going to find himself rapidly sliding towards the ground as his time in the air comes to an abrupt end. ]
( And of course, Jae Ha is here to catch him! — in a lovely princess carry, how else? It's an easy scoop from the air, with as tall as he is, and he's apparently an expert at managing the weight and gravity enough to minimize the jostling. So, all things aside, it's a comfortable landing.
But because he can't help but tease someone as feisty as this: )
Or it might be, if Gen wasn't doing his best to flail and claw his way out of Jae Ha's arms like he's an angry cat ungrateful for being rescued from a tree. Hell, he's even grabbing back onto that pillar to try to pull himself away from Jae Ha right now. ]
[ Despite the relatively short distance between Jae Ha's arms and the floor, Gen does a pretty quick job of righting himself and landing smoothly on his feet. He might be an embarrassment, but he is a physically capable one.
And he's using those physical capabilities to quickly scuttle out of arm's reach of Jae Ha now. ]
( ooc: sorry for the delay!! I wasn't able to manage finishing my app for this round, but hopefully if the desire keeps up I'll try next round! so if you'd rather drop this thread for now or anything, pls feel free no hard feelings ♥ )
( Boo, there he goes, slipping away... Jae Ha lets his arms hang dramatically in emptiness for a moment before he straightens himself, but the way he's grinning says he's pleased with this sort of playing around. What can he say? He loves bullying a little. )
Now, now, there's no need to get so defensive. We're meant to get along here, as fellow prisoners, right?
[ OOC. No worries! Work hit me hard for a bit there, so I got busy myself. I don't mind continuing the thread though, and hope you'll reserve again if you are still interested next round! ]
[ He certainly found an easy target for it too. For as highly as Gen regards himself, he's never been particularly difficult to get a rise out of, and considering his own poor attitude most of the time, it's hard for most people to feel much sympathy for him when it happens.
He makes a scoffing sound at the attempt to "calm" him though. ]
Getting stuck in the same glitzy jail as someone else doesn't mean I need to be buddy-buddy with them.
( There's something in the tone of that question, the raise of his brows, the lean in, that would surely make alarm bells go off in anyone's mind. Why is there that hopeful air to the way it rises at the end? Why is his smile so curved?
Guess he'll just have to find out! ♥ )
If it would get some of that tension out, you could try and hit me. ( Immediately, that is. He can find out immediately. )
[ He almost certainly would, but as rash as he is, he can see a ploy this obvious from a mile away. ]
Is this some kind of masochism thing?
[ The problem is just his reading of it, perhaps. Look… there are all sorts of types here at the hotel, and they’re into a pretty wide variety of things. Gen himself has some proclivities he’d rather die than fess up to himself, though masochism is not one of them. ]
