【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
On behalf of the house and resort, we would like to advise all Game 52 players to exercise caution around the Golden Peacock for the next few weeks. The veil between 'what is' and 'what has been' grows thin and the threads of fate have tangled in unexpected ways. We are currently observing how these two phenomena behave when they occur simultaneously and act in concert.
We advise that all guests monitor their physical states until the veil thickens once again and the threads of fate return to running parallel. If you find yourself undergoing any strange transformations, please report to the Broken Wing clinic for observation. We will do our utmost to make sure you are comfortable during this time.
You may also notice other strange phenomena around the Golden Peacock while the veil is thin. Please continue to exercise caution. New wayward spirits have joined us during this time. While spirits are crossing, it is possible for guests to get swept along into the ghostly realm.

▶ All characters on the TDM are WILDCARDS, which means they have not yet been assigned a card value. Suits will not manifest until characters are accepted into the game.
▶ All TDMs are game canon. This TDM acts as the game's October event. Changes to the above locations will ICly be present from October 15th - November 3rd. All supernatural phenomenon will increase in strength over time, culminating in peak activity on All Hallows' Eve. The days following Halloween will relax, leading into eventual normalcy. Some locations are spared the supernatural frenzy, so players can play as normal if they wish to avoid these tropes/prompts. Players may assume that the supernatural come and go in the above specifically incorporated locations.
▶ Current characters may top level on the TDM. Any current characters posting to the TDM should note they are current in their subject header.
▶ The top level directory is for new characters only. We want to make sure new characters are prioritized and receive attention! If you would be interested in a game invitation, you can note that in your comment header.
▶ If you aren't satisfied with these prompts, please feel free to check out our LOCATIONS to explore more of the resort!
▶ Smut threads that take place on this TDM can be used for rewards. If both parties in the smut thread join the game, you may retroactively apply the character's initial card values to your 52 bank. If one character does not join the game the thread will not be applicable toward rewards (as that character would not have a card value). The character that does join would still receive a small payout for the encounter. Hopefully it was a fun thread regardless!

even if it's not basil's actual clothes, he does want to help in some form. karna should have asked the staff before they left if there was anywhere he could take basil so that he wasn't simply in a bathrobe. oh well, hindsight is twenty-twenty they say on the matter. right. the best idea would be to try the surface levels is what karna thinks and to check on the way there through rooms if they seem safe enough.
he rather not risk too much given karna doubts the boy is a fighter; he'll need to take care of anything dangerous personally.)
Maybe we can check the rooms, make our way to the surface to put some distance on the colder parts of this basement. If there's nothing down here of note we'll comb over the surface levels and if I must....I can head back to the morgue.
(that should do for a plan. it's not the best, but it counts for something knowing that one is freezing and the other wouldn't want him to get sick.)

( Basil had thought that this was a hotel, but what kind of hotel had a morgue of all things in it? It only makes him wonder all the more what kind of place he's woken up in, and if this is a bad dream or not. At the least, it feels reassuring to know that he truly isn't completely alone here, even if it is a stranger.
Though, it is a little strange, too. As soon as this stranger stepped forward, it was almost as if the chill from before had completely disappeared. If anything, he can feel himself relax a little. He looks to the stranger in curiosity for a moment before his gaze moves to the path in front of him. )
Uhm... I-Is it really alright if we go into other rooms...? Other people might be staying there...

(karna of course thought this because basil hardly seems as if he may be able to fight. young boys his age in this era was not expected to do such things; because of that detail karna has been more patient and willing to protect them as a necessity. the issue is that the undead were fixated on him due to that heat he permeates. they're fortunate that none of them seem to have made their way toward the upper levels of the basement.
however, there is that point which makes karna frown in thought. no, he's right. the other guests might not take kindly and he would still feel bad to do such things. which means that they might have to go up toward the lobby floor. perhaps they can find more staff members willing to help. there's that thought given the broken wing is his last resort on the matter.)
Should we try the lobby floor then and see if we can run into any other staff members?

As soon as he mentions the undead, Basil tenses up, a look of dread evident in his features. The undead was something he'd only imagine in horror movies and comics -- it was nothing he'd ever thought he'd hear about from someone else. This definitely had to be a horrible nightmare. That was the only explanation for any of this... Even if the person before him is kind and warm --
This couldn't be real. )
The undead...? W-What-- do you mean by the undead?
( Despite the fact that he's seemingly frozen in his steps, afraid - he can't help but offer a small nod in his direction. If he truly meant zombies, what else would they run into? Would it be okay? Would Basil just slow him down? He couldn't fight, after all. )

if it helps as a source of comfort, then of course karna would do that no matter his burnt hands.)
Zombies themselves, for your sake avoid going further down....as frightening as this must be, I will try and come to help you if you call for me, all you have to do is call out "Karna" and I'll be there were we to get separated on the upper floors.
(that might help a little. his name is given out and he could do as much for someone that cannot fight. karna's always been that sort of man whenever he thinks briefly to himself that he ought to try arming himself later. he'll need to. karna isn't afraid of using his hands in particular, but there is limitations to that with the things he can do without one.
which means he'll have to later check for anything he can use temporarily. didn't matter if it was simple objects or anything more than that. anything can be used as a weapon in karna's capable hands. there is a reason why they say that failing with him as their servant means that they must be truly a waste of space due to such things.)

But, was it possible? For someone to just appear if they're called? It almost feels like magic. At this point, with the existence of zombies and the fact that he's here and not the Faraway Hospital, perhaps he shouldn't be surprised.
Still, he shuffles his feet a bit forward. )

( Basil's been alone for a long time at home. He's been pushed around and bullied for how he is. It's a little difficult to accept help for so many reasons, but it's also easy for him to feel like a burden. )

(that's fine enough for karna. he can understand that and even then....it's not something karna can say he ever minds. as of now basil was putting enough trust in him for help and that was good enough. perhaps it's like magic or perhaps it's not; that is not something he would tell basil pertaining to the truth of the matter. that karna is by all accounts not alive in reality and only there as though he were living another life given to him by his master prior to being spirited away by the house. he can only hope that none of the others may arrive....that they might not ever see what he believes he might see.
if the shambling corpses and getting scratched down there counted as terrible, he was unfortunate to have discovered just what happens. for now he only considers the possibility of them maybe finding basil clothing that he may use without going back down there. karna did need to limit his excursions and exploration in the broken wing for the sake of not attracting the zombies on his scent again or his trail by that heat radiating from his body.
for now his hands rest comfortably back at his side with a soft smile or as soft as he can manage no matter it not reaching his eyes fully. they shouldn't dally about and knowing that one of them is susceptible to getting sick, it's best karna didn't make him stand there for too long waiting.)
For now, I do trust that it will be safe.

He looks to Karna then, worry still evident in his features. As anxious as Basil was, it'd be difficult to really comfort him completely -- but, they were on the right track to finding some comfort here. )
... Okay. I-I trust you. If we do run into the zombies, though... Maybe we should run.
