TDM 05

【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
Due to a high volume of check-ins, temporary accommodations have been made in our KING SUITES for all new arrivals. We will endeavor to have all guests moved into their reserved rooms as soon as possible. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience.
As a token of our gratitude for your understanding, front reception has arranged for a GRAND FEAST to welcome our newest guests. The attendance of all guests is required. The house will enforce compliance.
Please note that rank-appropriate attire is mandatory. Guests found breaking social code may be disciplined. We hope you enjoy your stay! 】

ARRIVAL
DIVINE AWAKENING

All King suites have been set to the Heavenly setting for the comfort of these new Wildcards. To call this place a room feels like a misnomer; all of the senses scream that this is a real temple at the top of a crisp oceanside mountain. The only clue that this place isn't what it seems is the door in the distance. It stands dark against light, a stark rectangle distinctly out of place.
New arrivals aren't waking up alone. Reception would never expect their guests to wake up in a cold bed. All new guests will be waking up next to another Wildcard or a current guest snatched up from the hallways. Guests waking up in these heavenly King suites will wake dressed in sheer white tunics and togas that leave very little to the imagination.
GILDED CAGE
AN ENDLESS FEAST

Rugs and cushions have been laid out for low rank guests. All high rank guests have thrones and benches covered in crushed velvet and delicate linens. Wildcards have a seat of honor amongst it all, each fresh new divine lead to the grand dais for their own semi-private tent with daybed and eager servants.
Low ranks are carefully watched by security and wait staff. Some low rank guests may even be dragged in by resort staff to assist serving high rank guests and Wildcards. All high rank guests and Wildcards are revered and catered to during the feast. Low rank guests are expected to feed them, rub their feet, and comply with any whimsical demands. Any low rank guest that defies a higher ranked guest is at risk of being shackled, forced to scrub chamber pots, and other humiliating punishments.

PHOENIX CASINO
ALEA IACTA EST

The game tables are abuzz. Special games have kicked off in honor of the new godlings that are waiting to check in. Even here, those of different ranks are distinct from one another. The lowest ranks wear small slips of clothing. Some are even collared to show they belong to a particular royal or Wildcard. Royals and Wildcards dress luxuriously in thick robes and golden jewelry.
Game managers clap and encourage guests of all ranks to join in on the fun. While there are numerous card games, slot machines, and raffles happening around the casino, staff are promoting three events in particular.
BEAK
ENTERTAIN YOUR BETTERS

Beneath the open arena is a smaller closed arena and the warrior’s bunk. Warriors will find cold showers, rustic wooden benches, and training weapons available for their use. Deep in the earth is a grimy prison where servants who refuse to battle are thrown to wait for their turn. There are also cages where the hungry “animals” wait to go out and entertain the masses.
A long track rings around the perimeter of the arena. Gone is the standard green fuzz and white lines, replaced with stone and dust to elicit the real feeling of running beneath the hot Grecian sun. Foot and chariot races take place throughout the day.
TALON
SHOW OF STRENGTH

Servants that appear too fragile to handle mud wrestling have been conscripted into the oil bearer role. Their job is to slather the warriors in oil from head to toe, and otherwise prepare them for their matches in either the arena or in the pit. This includes styling their hair, tending to their wounds, and wiping the sweat off of their bodies if so desired.
The locker rooms that connect Beak and Talon have been fully stocked with first aid kits and luxury bathing supplies. Warriors that have won their matches get first pick, leaving the dirty towels and shampoo that smells like ass for the losers to sift through. Those sneaky ghost hands are having a field day, snapping rat tails at unsuspecting bathers and locking naked warriors together in the supply closet. Guests lacking vigilance may find their bottoms unexpectedly pinched.

INDULGENCE
DESIRES FROM THE VOID

Things begin to move around the resort. The forgotten and the old exhale a dusty breath. Like the hunger that the Wildcards woke up with upon arrival, as its heart begins to beat quicker, there is a tension in the air of those things hungering to feed. To join in, and indulge. To get what they want.
And they’re coming out.

[There's a brilliant grin that follows that, a playful wink. Hey, come on. Can't they just let the past be the past? No reason they can't be buddies here! The tangerine lass would t-o-tally agree with him too! They've managed to be very good buddies here. Yeesh.
He tilts his head at the conditions, arching a brow. He'd huff and say no, but his stomach does give some telltale grumbling at the thought of food. Dammit. Fine.]
What?
no subject
Don’t make me regret it. [ He doesn’t love the idea of ordering anyone here around, but he might make an exception if Buggy mouths off too much.
Before he asks anything, he gestures towards to the table and the platter of sausages, giving him permission to eat his fill while Sanji ignores the hunger pang in his belly. ] Most important thing first: you know if any of my crewmates are here?
no subject
He sits and reaches for one of the sausages eagerly, giving a thoughtful hum.]
Nami's the only one left, I think. Straw Hat was here, Zoro, I think... not anymore though.
[...] Nami's a queen, by the way.
no subject
Of course, it just gives rise to more questions, ones that Sanji doesn’t hesitate to ask after taking a drink of wine and glancing over at Buggy. ]
Shit–– when’d they leave? [ And then, maybe more importantly. ] How? Thought you couldn’t leave once you’re here.
[ As for the Nami news, he glances over to where the royals are seated with the beginnings of a smile on his face. He’ll go wander that way after he’s finished pumping the clown for information. ] Can’t say it doesn’t suit her.
no subject
Luffy? A few months ago. Not sure how. Hopefully they really send'em home, huh?
[But Buggy has his suspicions on that. He isn't being paid in sausage to delve into that though.
Speaking of-- he's grabbing another.]
Oh, it suits her really well. You should see the nice room she got for it... gorgeous views, even if they're all fake as shit.
no subject
Even if the gap in time doesn’t make sense, he can almost feel it in a strange way. It was only days ago he was back on the Merry, but… it feels longer, somehow, as if being a world away from home has made time pass faster. Not that he wants to discuss any of that with the clown. ]
Months… damn. [ Sanji glances down at his glass of wine, taking a swallow even though it doesn’t slake his thirst, does nothing for the uncomfortable warmth that spreads along his skin. ] Yeah, hope so. He deserves to be… not here.
[ The little he’s seen of this place sends shivers down his spine when he thinks about any of his friends being here. He doesn’t notice Buggy grabbing another sausage, not really caring how many of them he eats. ]
Bet it’s similar to the room I’ve got. [ For now? That part’s unclear. ] Looks like I’m on a damned mountain overlooking the sea. [ Which is a little comforting, all things considered, but also impossible. And fake, if what Buggy’s saying is true. Speaking of which, he glances over at him again. ] Any advice on how to handle this place and the crap it throws at you?
no subject
[He huffs and goes for another sausage because he's not being told to slow down -- and Buggy's got a huge appetite in general. Maybe not as big as the rubber boy's, but...]
Eh? Maybe. [But Nami lets Buggy crash at her place and he doesn't think the chef will let him do that, so why should he care?] Sounds like a nice view... being stuck on land for so long's driving me crazy. Nami's view is pretty nice too though. Should ask her to let you see it.
[She really got something special there.] As for advice...
[Buggy chews thoughtfully for a few minutes and for a second, he can't help the serious look that crosses his face, dropping the theatrics for a moment.] Don't let that mark they put on you get too dark. It'll... make you act crazy. Literally. Or violent. Or you'll start burning up with fever and say things you never wanted to...
[It sounds like he's speaking from experience here.] Just fuck. Even if it's with someone you don't necessarily want to be with... trust me. Better than the shitty alternative.
no subject
[ Not that he expects the clown to have any answers to those questions. And as much as Buggy has annoyed him in the past, there’s no denying that he’s right— he doesn’t deserve this and neither does anyone else. ]
Yeah, great view. Hard to think of as a room. [ It shouldn’t be possible— that towering mountain, those white sandy beaches, the gentle lapping of waves against shore— for something so big to be contained in a space so small. ] I gotta find her first, but…
[ He shrugs his shoulders. If her room is anything like his, it’ll have a kitchen and the thought of being able to cook for anyone— let alone a member of his crew— gives him comfort.
Sanji listens raptly as Buggy gives him advice, frowning more and more the longer he talks. Oh, he’s secretly glad he ran into him, as annoyed as he makes him, and that he’s being so forthright and helpful, but all of what Buggy says just confirms his worst fears about this place. In the short time he’d known the clown, he’d always struck him as someone who did whatever he wanted until he no longer had a choice. ]
Shit. It’s really that bad here? [ While he usually prefers to sip wine slowly, he drains the whole glass now. Sex isn’t something he’s against— not that there were a ton of opportunities back on the Baratie— but the thought of doing it just to survive here isn’t something he likes, either. ] You really just gotta fuck whoever to keep from going— what, insane?
no subject
[Great. now his appetite is off. He leans back, arms crossing over his chest as he looks up at Sanji.]
She'll be around. Sure she'll be glad to have some of her crew back too. [Damn, but wouldn't he as well? There's Shanks, but-- they're not exactly crew anymore. But he's not about to dump any of that on the shitty chef to be used against him later.]
It's... tolerable, if you play the game. Food, showers, plenty of interesting people around. [He shrugs his shoulders.] You have to make sure you have a wide variety of partners, at least. And if you want to move up here, then yeah. You gotta play by their rules.
[He tries to flash something that's more characteristically his grin, however reassuring that is.] But hey, you've got time to find people, champ. It usually takes a couple weeks, at least.
[There's no reason for Buggy to be actually antagonistic here, really. Better to play nice with the Straw Hats until he doesn't have to -- which might be a loooong time. But hey, they're at least from his world and that's at least a little valuable.]
You'll be fine. Probably. That pretty face? it's going to get all the attention.
[Is that reassuring? Eh. Whatever. He tried.]
no subject
Guess tolerable’s about the best I can ask for. [ He sounds glum as he says it, still aching for home and his crew and the newfound freedom afforded by life aboard a pirate ship. Scrubbing a hand through his hair, he sighs and tries to look on what little bright side there is. ] Interesting people, huh? Maybe I’ll pick some new recipes while I’m here. You know, broaden my horizons.
[ Exactly the kind of thing Zeff might have encouraged him to do, if they’d exchanged more than a handful of words after their fight. Of course, recipes aren’t why this place has brought him here and he knows that— knows it thanks to all the conversations he’s already had— but it’s a nice benefit. Something to take away the sting as he tries to adjust the reality of where he’s landed. ]
Damn sure doesn’t sound like much time, but if that’s what I’ve got… [ He doesn’t really have a choice but to run with it, not if he eventually wants to get out here alongside Nami and back home. At the very least, he’s already seen a number of beautiful women around. Maybe a little flirting will go a long way? ] When you say a wide variety of partners… how many are you talking about? Five? Ten? More?
[ He has no frame of reference for how many he needs. The few occasions he’d had sex before were sporadic and one time deals. Who knows what this place expects of him better than the clown sitting next to him? ]
Pretty face? Are you trying to compliment me, Buggy? [ There’s a quiet laugh as he tries to force himself to relax, at least a little, and give the other man a break. He’s been helpful. ]
no subject
Uh-- [As for the number of partners? He shrugs.] Depends if you're going to play the hotel's stupid little game or not. But you could get by with a couple of regulars otherwise.
[But honestly, if you're in a place that offers sex and not much else? Might as well indulge, right? Plus, Buggy's naturally greedy.
The question has him huffing out a laugh.]
Just stating facts, Chef. [He gives a curious tilt to his head.] Anything else you want to know?
no subject
[ Sanji frowns thoughtfully at Buggy’s explanation. The idea of finding a few trusted people to have sex with doesn’t sound so bad, but… if he and Nami ever want to go home… ] You think if we play the game and win, we’ll get to go home? It’s what the Watch implied.
[ As little as he likes him, Buggy is from where he’s from. That counts for something. And while he may not completely trust him, the clown has every reason to want to go home, too. ]
Nah. [ He shakes his head and gestures back at the sausages. ] You’ve answered plenty. Feel free to eat as many as you want. Take the whole platter with you when you leave, if you like.
no subject
[He doesn't-- want to talk about how they take on the appearance of people you love either, but maybe he should. Either way, Sanji moves on to a new question and he nods his head.] I think it's our best bet at the moment. I mean, I don't think Luffy won it.
[That dumb rubber boy promised they'd beat up whoever is behind this together one day -- and that little idiot? Keeps his stupid, shitty promises, Buggy has to admit. So just disappearing? Weird. No need to get into that either though.]
That's okay. You should eat, champ. Keep up that strength, all that.
no subject
[ The slight smile on his face falters when the clown brings up Luffy again and again, his instinct is to agree with him. ] Doesn’t really seem possible he won, yeah.
[ And that really begs the question of what, exactly, happened to his Captain. Buggy obviously doesn’t know, which means he’ll need to look elsewhere for answers eventually. ]
Me? They’ll bring anything I want if I ask it. [ His shoulders lift in a shrug as he glances at a nearby waiter. He’s hungry, but it’s not the kind of hunger that food can sate. ] Eat it or don’t, I’ll still have more if I need it. [ The cooks have already assured him that nothing will go to waste, but… he doesn’t quite trust anyone employed here, even if they are fellow chefs.
There’s a slight pause before he adds, almost grudgingly. ] Maybe you aren’t that bad after all, Buggy. Thanks.
