TDM 05

【 Thank you for choosing the Golden Peacock, 5-star resort and casino. You are currently registered as a WILDCARD in our system.
Due to a high volume of check-ins, temporary accommodations have been made in our KING SUITES for all new arrivals. We will endeavor to have all guests moved into their reserved rooms as soon as possible. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience.
As a token of our gratitude for your understanding, front reception has arranged for a GRAND FEAST to welcome our newest guests. The attendance of all guests is required. The house will enforce compliance.
Please note that rank-appropriate attire is mandatory. Guests found breaking social code may be disciplined. We hope you enjoy your stay! 】

ARRIVAL
DIVINE AWAKENING

All King suites have been set to the Heavenly setting for the comfort of these new Wildcards. To call this place a room feels like a misnomer; all of the senses scream that this is a real temple at the top of a crisp oceanside mountain. The only clue that this place isn't what it seems is the door in the distance. It stands dark against light, a stark rectangle distinctly out of place.
New arrivals aren't waking up alone. Reception would never expect their guests to wake up in a cold bed. All new guests will be waking up next to another Wildcard or a current guest snatched up from the hallways. Guests waking up in these heavenly King suites will wake dressed in sheer white tunics and togas that leave very little to the imagination.
GILDED CAGE
AN ENDLESS FEAST

Rugs and cushions have been laid out for low rank guests. All high rank guests have thrones and benches covered in crushed velvet and delicate linens. Wildcards have a seat of honor amongst it all, each fresh new divine lead to the grand dais for their own semi-private tent with daybed and eager servants.
Low ranks are carefully watched by security and wait staff. Some low rank guests may even be dragged in by resort staff to assist serving high rank guests and Wildcards. All high rank guests and Wildcards are revered and catered to during the feast. Low rank guests are expected to feed them, rub their feet, and comply with any whimsical demands. Any low rank guest that defies a higher ranked guest is at risk of being shackled, forced to scrub chamber pots, and other humiliating punishments.

PHOENIX CASINO
ALEA IACTA EST

The game tables are abuzz. Special games have kicked off in honor of the new godlings that are waiting to check in. Even here, those of different ranks are distinct from one another. The lowest ranks wear small slips of clothing. Some are even collared to show they belong to a particular royal or Wildcard. Royals and Wildcards dress luxuriously in thick robes and golden jewelry.
Game managers clap and encourage guests of all ranks to join in on the fun. While there are numerous card games, slot machines, and raffles happening around the casino, staff are promoting three events in particular.
BEAK
ENTERTAIN YOUR BETTERS

Beneath the open arena is a smaller closed arena and the warrior’s bunk. Warriors will find cold showers, rustic wooden benches, and training weapons available for their use. Deep in the earth is a grimy prison where servants who refuse to battle are thrown to wait for their turn. There are also cages where the hungry “animals” wait to go out and entertain the masses.
A long track rings around the perimeter of the arena. Gone is the standard green fuzz and white lines, replaced with stone and dust to elicit the real feeling of running beneath the hot Grecian sun. Foot and chariot races take place throughout the day.
TALON
SHOW OF STRENGTH

Servants that appear too fragile to handle mud wrestling have been conscripted into the oil bearer role. Their job is to slather the warriors in oil from head to toe, and otherwise prepare them for their matches in either the arena or in the pit. This includes styling their hair, tending to their wounds, and wiping the sweat off of their bodies if so desired.
The locker rooms that connect Beak and Talon have been fully stocked with first aid kits and luxury bathing supplies. Warriors that have won their matches get first pick, leaving the dirty towels and shampoo that smells like ass for the losers to sift through. Those sneaky ghost hands are having a field day, snapping rat tails at unsuspecting bathers and locking naked warriors together in the supply closet. Guests lacking vigilance may find their bottoms unexpectedly pinched.

INDULGENCE
DESIRES FROM THE VOID

Things begin to move around the resort. The forgotten and the old exhale a dusty breath. Like the hunger that the Wildcards woke up with upon arrival, as its heart begins to beat quicker, there is a tension in the air of those things hungering to feed. To join in, and indulge. To get what they want.
And they’re coming out.

[ Said lady has a rather sharp tongue. She means no harm, though. By no means does she think he's the one responsible for this, but she might just get a funny reaction for that. He's free to flirt all he likes! Weiss doesn't mind it, and smiles not long after that. ]
Just kidding.
[ His next set of questions make sense to ask. There's a reason why she doesn't think he kidnapped her, and it's the same reason why she isn't even panicked anymore at a time like this. ]
I found myself here about half a year ago. [ She slides her arm out from under the sheets and holds it up, does a little shimmy with her hand so that the Watch on her wrist gets his attention. ] We all have one. A sign that we're players in this dumb resort's game.
My name is Weiss. [ A pause. It seems like there's something more she wants to say, and she does. It takes a few seconds for her to add anything though, because asking "Do you remember me at all?" feels like that'd raise some red flags. Even she would be alarmed if someone told her that.
So, with a cock of her head, a rather puzzled expression as she looks him up and down, she says: ]
You're. . . familiar to me.
[ And no, that's not a pick-up line. ]
no subject
Funny and beautiful? Lucky me. Couldn’t have asked for a better stranger to wake up next to.
[ Not that there aren’t other people he would’ve liked to have seen in that bed— Nami, Luffy, Usopp, hell, even Zoro would have been a comfort— but as far as strangers go, there aren’t many better options. And just as importantly, she’s knowledgeable, a fact that helps bring some comfort because maybe now he’ll be able to get some damn answers.
He’s about to ask more questions— and he has quite a few— but the sense of hesitancy catches his attention. Patience is something he has, as anyone that’s spent time in the kitchen does, and so he waits for her to finish.
Once she does, he blinks and takes another long, sharp look at her, trying to recall if he recognizes her from somewhere. He doesn’t— of course he doesn’t, but it’s worth the attempt— and shakes his head. ]
Apologies again, Weiss, but I don’t recognize you. Did you ever eat at the Baratie? I was a cook there for almost a decade. I think I would’ve remembered a customer like you, but… [ His shoulders raise in a quick shrug. It’s possible he only saw her in passing. ]
no subject
That's me. The best stranger around.
[ Even if she remembers him from her first few weeks here, she wouldn't exactly call them friends. If anything, this is the first time she's met Sanji in person! She understands that she was either forgotten in this case. Another time, that might just be insulting, but she'll just have to look into this case.
How can people appear, disappear later on, then show up without remembering that they were here before? Is that why there was a painting of her here already? Because she was here before and she just didn't know? That's... disturbing, and she'd rather not show her thoughts in her expression.
Stay cool, Weiss. ]
That's quite alright, there's no need to apologise. I've never heard of the Baratie, though.
Would you think I'm crazy if I told you that we've texted each other before? It was some months ago, just a few weeks after I found myself here.
no subject
Crazy? Nah. It just sounds… a little impossible. [ But then again, he’s here, wherever this is, and not back on the Merry with his crew, which is exactly where he belongs. So maybe not completely impossible, but it still doesn’t make any damn sense how it’s possible. ]
Last thing I remember, I was going to asleep back on our ship. That was... eight hours ago at most? [ There’s a tiny bit of hesitation as he says it because even saying it, even knowing that he usually doesn’t usually sleep more than six hours a night, it feels like… like it’s been longer, somehow, in a way he can’t quite comprehend. There’s a vague fuzziness that lies between then and now and it throws him, but only a little. ]
Months ago I was still working on the Baratie— the, uh, restaurant I learned to be a cook at— and not wherever we are now. [ His shoulders raise in a quick shrug. ] And what’s texting? Never heard of it before now. So, yeah, not crazy— [ He'd never think that of any woman. ] —but it doesn't really some possible, you know?
no subject
You'll find out that just about anything here is possible. But... yeah. Texting is like sending letters, but digitally. Through the Watch.
[ While she's happy to give him the rundown of this place, she's also slowly realising that it is indeed morning. Her usual workout is gone out the window; she'll just have to try and see what her schedule is like in the afternoon if she can still jog or do her yoga. What she needs right now is some coffee. ]
Have you looked around yet? I need some caffeine. I'll tell you more about it once I have some coffee.
[ That's her cue to slip out of the sheets to stand up. Nope, she hasn't realised what she's wearing yet. ]
no subject
You mean this shitty resort really brought me here before and— I, what, escaped? And now I’m back?
[ The frustration is evident in his voice and the furrowed draw of his brows and the slight scowl on his face. Being here is wrong. He should be back in the galley of their ship, preparing breakfast for Luffy, and Nami, and the rest of the crew, not here. Running a hand through his hair, he glances back down at the Watch before she asks her questions. ]
Nah, I just woke up a few minutes before you did. Can’t believe this is a suite. [ Although the door makes it clear that it is, it’s another piece of possibility that he doesn’t really comprehend yet.
His eyes widen when she stands up, the sheerness of the tunic hiding as little of her as it hides of him, and Sanji has to make a conscious effort not to stare for more than a second. ] Not that I dislike the view, but you’re wearing the same thing I am. [ It feels only polite to point that out as he looks pointedly at her face and gestures vaguely in the distance. ] How do you take your coffee? With or without creamer? Sugar? If there’s a kitchen, making coffee for you'd be my pleasure. It'll keep me busy for a bit, you know?
no subject
[ Hopefully "no" would be his answer here, because this place is just creepy beneath is glitz and glamour. It's disturbing to think that someone's memories can be erased just like that, considering Weiss doesn't believe that people who disappear truly "escape" this hellhole.
One she's up and he makes note of what she's wearing, she ends up looking down at herself and pulling on the blankets from the bed to at least cover her front. The tunic at least doesn't show much of her torso, one side of it a darker shade of her skin as it's been burned and scarred. Thankfully, with enough care and healing, it's gotten lighter, but it's still noticeable when it's not covered by anything. ]
That's- well.
[ Ahem! She clears her throat and moves on. No need to bring any more attention to what they're both wearing. Weiss keeps her eyes up to be respectful, and if their food isn't spiked or drugged, then they can maintain doing so! Otherwise, well... 🤷♀️😉 ]
With cream and sugar, please. Some syrup to add flavour would be great, too.
[ She does realise that this suite seems rather vast, so she's sure there's a kitchen here somewhere. ]
I'm sure there's a kitchen somewhere around here. And some clothes we can borrow.
[ She starts walking around to see if there's a door that leads somewhere—the hallway, a living room, a closet or bathroom, anywhere, really. There's a set of stairs that go all the way down, and they'd even find a very nice outdoor kitchen, amongst other rooms that should be indoors. No roofs, nothing. At least there's a rack where there are robes that can be found! At the end of the path is a rather dark door, probably their way out of here and into the resort proper.
By no means does she intend to flash Sanji with her backside, but the blanket is pretty heavy to wrap around her. It's fine. ]
All the way down there, I suppose.
no subject
[ He gestures towards the golden lines of starbursts and sunbeams that run down a forearm, ignoring the subtle feeling that there’s a gap in his memories, a hazy smudge between going to sleep and waking up. A glance at Weiss’s forearms tells him she doesn’t have any corresponding ones, so… ] Do you think they might be related? You know this shitty resort and I don’t.
[ His eyes snap right back to look at her face after, trying dutifully to be the gentleman and keep his gaze respectful, too, as best he can. Which is harder than it looks. The talk of coffee and finding a kitchen helps make that easier, at least, and his attention snaps into focusing on what she requests, nodding. ]
Which flavor? Vanilla? Cocoa? Something else altogether? [ Assuming they have the syrups— or ingredients to make some fresh by hand— he wants to make sure he makes it right on the first go.
Assuming they find a kitchen which, after a little investigation, Weiss seems to find a likely path towards one. He does briefly get a look— well, maybe more than one— as she shuffles around the room and while he tries to keep his gaze respectful, he’s not perfect. He nods at her discovery and approaches her, and the stairs, a feeling of relief settling in that she thinks there’s a kitchen down there. ]
Shall we? [ In his head, there’s only one polite thing to do when escorting a lady anywhere, and that’s offer her his elbow. He flashes a bright grin her way, a little wider than it likely should be, as he feels a faint pang of hunger.
And whether she takes it or not, they head down the stairs, stopping to slip on the significantly less revealing robes before heading on to the well-stocked kitchen that overlooks a steep drop to the sea. It’s not quite as impressive as a professional kitchen, but then, it doesn’t have to be. Being inside of it, even as surreal as the location itself is, puts him at ease, shoulders relaxing as he runs his fingers over the white marble counter tops. ]
I’ll have your coffee made soon. [ Another grin as he looks over at the fridge, letting himself slip back into the role of a cook rather than someone confused and very far from home. ] You hungry? They have lots here I can work with. I could make you an omelette? Or a soufflé if you’re in the mood for something sweeter?
no subject
I've actually never seen anything like it before.
[ There's certainly something very... regal and ethereal about it? Or maybe it's just that the blond does look pleasing to the eyes. It could also be both. She isn't sure if she should be providing some sort of warning given that the warning should come with an introduction to this place, but perhaps she should? She'll find the right time to talk about how marks like those might make him horny.
(Sorry, Sanji.)
For now, she gives a small smile and takes the offered elbow, slipping her hand on the inner side of his arm, palm resting by his elbow. ]
Yup, we shall. Chocolate syrup or caramel would be good, too.
[ Down they go, following an impressive set of stairs. The view is wonderful, even if it isn't real. Waterfalls, rivers, and streams in the distance. Mountains. It truly is a lovely place! Weiss takes her position on one of the tools and sits there, letting the blond do all the kitchen work. She might just burn the place down if she tried to do anything, so better not. ]
An omelette sounds great, actually. The coffee can be my sweet treat.
no subject
Whatever else is going on with the markings on his skin, he believes her when she says she doesn’t know anything about them. The trip deeper into the mountain— and then back out— as they descend the stairs is a good distraction, particularly with Weiss taking his elbow. It’s a relatively small thing, that touch, but it makes his grin just a little brighter as they explore the depths of the room. It’s still hard to think of it like that— as a room— when it’s clearly too grand, too large to be any kind of room he knows.
But, then again, he was prepared for impossibility. The Grand Line is supposed to be a place filled with impossible things. This isn’t any different in that regard.
Once they’re in the kitchen and he has her order, he grins at her. ] I’ll have it done right away.
[ The coffee comes first. It doesn’t take much time at all, brewing it and then mixing in the combination of milk, sugar, and chocolate syrup that are all stocked in the fridge and pantry. He tops it with a dollop of whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder and then serves it up, letting her take a drink or two while he preps to make them both a quick breakfast. ]
Coffee to your liking? [ It only takes a few more moments for him to whip up the eggs and make their breakfast. The omelettes are simple— just cheddar and eggs, with salt and pepper to season, the eggs fluffy and soft while the cheese is nicely melted— but they’re a dish he’s made thousands of times. Cooking them is soothing and familiar and when he serves them up, a dusting of cheese on top, he takes a seat next to her. ]
Here we are. A lovely breakfast for my loveliest customer. [ She’s his only customer right now, but that’s neither here nor there. Never let facts get in the way of an opportunity to flirt. ]
no subject
Maybe she should change her suite's setting to this at some point... ]
Thank you. [ The whipped cream is such a nice touch, and she blows on the coffee for a few seconds before taking a sip. Better wipe that whipped cream moustache off her face before she answers! ]
Yup, it's just right.
[ Off he goes to prepare the rest of breakfast. Weiss is no cook, so she doesn't know how difficult preparing an omelette can be. She can see that he's so fluid in the kitchen though, moving around with ease even if it's his first time using this kitchen. Cooks really are something else! ]
You're sweet.
[ The loveliest customer! Thank you for that, Sanji. Regardless of the circumstances that she's his only customer, the praise is 100,000% appreciated. ]
So... before anything else, I suppose I should warn you about where we are, in case you haven't read anything on your Watch yet. The Golden Peacock is a resort where people are brought from different worlds. We're... players in this game they have, and the game is to be intimate with the other players.
More often than not, the food and drinks are drugged, because this place wants you to have a lot of sex.
[ Which begs the question - why did she have him make her breakfast? Hopefully he doesn't have any violent reactions to that, but whatever his initial reactions might be, Weiss breaks the omelette with the side of her fork for a bite-sized piece. ]
I don't think this is, though. But once you leave this room? I'd watch what you put in your mouth.
[ Om! She takes the bite, the egg so fluffy and creamy feeling like a melting cloud in her mouth. Oh gosh, this is really good! ]
no subject
Once the final touches are done, and he takes a seat next to her, his short reprieve is over. Being in the dinning area still brings with it some comfort— muscles looser than they were moments ago— but the moment she starts to talk more about where they are, his eyes snap up to watch her, listening intently to everything she divulges. ]
You’re serious? [ Even as he asks that question, he knows she is. Call it instinct, call it a hunch, call it whatever, but Sanji trusts her despite the briefness of their acquaintance. He’d glanced at the watch before she woke up and got the piece about this being a resort, but as for all the rest… that’s new. As a rule, he likes sex— enjoys it, obviously— but the idea of being essentially forced into it by this awful place makes him shudder with disgust. ] Shit, never mind, I know you are. Why? What’s the damn point in making us play this shitty game? Why does this place even want us to have sex with each other that much?
[ The look of disbelief on his face doesn’t quite fade as his eyes flicker down to the coffee he made her and the two plates of food before them. For a moment, he’s stunned as he tries to process that thought of not even their food being safe, turning something life giving and nourishing into a tool for making them fuck. Absurdly, that’s the part he focuses on, the part that annoys him the more he thinks about. ]
Sorry Weiss, I didn’t realize— [ He tries to apologize at the same time she clarifies that this batch of food is likely drug free. That makes him feel at least a little better, but only a little. ] That’s— glad to hear this food is safe.
[ After seeing her take a bite, he does the same, enjoying the results of his hard work. It tastes good— and it’s nice to confirm he isn’t too off of his game— but his mind is still working through everything she said. ] You really can’t just have a meal here without, what, wanting to possibly fuck someone?
[ He tries to take another bite and sighs instead, running his hand through his hair, still watching her intently. ] What’d we ever do to get sucked into this place’s crap?
no subject
[ So while she tries to find more information? She'll enjoy some of the things the resort has to offer. She's met good friends here, experienced cuisine she's yet to try in Remnant, amongst other things. While Weiss wouldn't exactly call this paradise, there are some good things to it.
She offers a small smile when they talk about the food. She wouldn't have asked for anything if she thought the food was unsafe. It's just that she's woken up so many times in another suite that this isn't new to her anymore. The tunic, on the other hand... that's new, for sure. ]
Safe and good. So, thank you.
[ Hopefully she doesn't make Sanji paranoid in trying food in restaurants and elsewhere in the resort. Weiss' luck has been awful, and there is one person she's friends with who always ends up eating drugged food with her, whether they like it or not. It's become a running joke at this point. ]
Jin Mingming's food is safe. She runs the Red Cardinal. As for the others, you can order ones without any aphrodisiacs, but it's a limited selection.
Sorry to break it to you over breakfast. I just thought you should know.
no subject
[ Because if so, he intends to offer whatever help he can give. Right now, he can only see this place as an adversary that plucked him away from his home and the people he cares about. It’s hard to appreciate a suite this luxurious when the people he’d want to share it with the most are nowhere to be found.
Her pronouncement that the food is both safe and good causes his face to split in a wide grin, corners of lips curling upwards as he glances down at the omelettes he’s served up. Cooking is its own pleasure and the knowledge that he’s fed someone its own reward, but it’s still always good to hear that a customer likes his food. ]
Glad you like it. Making it for you was my pleasure.
[ It isn’t really paranoia that her warning evokes, but exasperation and it makes his eye twitch before he takes a breath and shakes his head. ]
Nah, you were right to do so. It’s good to know about it. Food’s so important when you’re sailing on the sea, I wouldn’t have expected anything until it was too later. Any cook worth his salt would never tamper with anyone’s food. That’s an ironclad rule.
[ Of course, they aren’t on the sea anymore, so that’s irrelevant, but it is an explanation for his reaction. ] If the food isn’t always safe, is there anything that is? Or is the whole place just out to drug us whenever we aren’t paying attention?
no subject
[ She would rather not explain why progress is slow... Let's just say she enjoys being here every now and then...
It is easy to forget that it's been half a year since she arrived here. That's already half a year lost in Remnant. No doubt people are searching for her or worse — believe she is dead.
That does remind her though. She's quiet as she eats, listening to Sanji talk about how important food is. Although she will say, it isn't just on the seas! That does remind her, though- ]
You're a crewmate of Nami's, right? [ He's been mentioned once or twice. ] I think she'd be happy to see you. We can look for her once we're done eating, if you're not in a rush, of course.
[ Eggs so fluffy, it'd be a waste to gulp it all at once. Not to mention, she'd like to enjoy her coffee, too. ]
I could show you the safe places to get food, too. I think that's plenty important.
no subject
Which is frustrating in it’s own right, but that’s not her fault, as far as he knows. ]
You ever want or need help with that, just let me know, alright? I wanna figure all this out, too. I’m pretty good in a fight if it comes to that.
[ Violence isn’t always the answer to every problem, but Sanji would be lying if he said he hoped it didn’t come to that. The thought of beating the shit out of whoever’s responsible for their circumstances is, frankly, pretty satisfying. And besides, that might knock some answers out—
Nami.
His eyes widen and then light up as soon as he hears that name come out of her mouth. With everything they’ve talked about, the possibility that any of the others might here had momentarily slipped his mind. ]
Nami’s here? For how long? [ Because again— conveniently ignoring that hazy sensation of lost time— it’s only felt like less than 12 hours since he last saw her, but Weiss says her name with a sense of familiarity that hints it might have been longer. ] Are any of the others— anyone else on her crew— here? [ He hopes so. Selfishly, even if they are all trapped here, it’s better to be trapped together than apart. ]
Ah, yeah, we should finish eating before we leave. [ He cuts off a bite of the eggs himself and swallows it, mentally deciding he needs to use a touch less salt next time. It’s good, but he gets more satisfaction out of her enjoyment than his own. ] Never waste food, you know? Not like any of us are going anywhere.
[ Of course, he’d love to find her as soon as possible, but they both need food. His own stomach is feeling a bit hungry, after all. ]
You’re pretty damn wise, you know that? [ He grins at her appreciatively. ] Yeah, that’s important. And I’d appreciate it. Need to start getting familiar with this shitty resort if I’m gonna be stuck here.
no subject
We met some time after I got here, so about... I want to say eight months? [ Yeah, something like that! Best not to let this guy get too freaked out, though. There's already so much for him to take in, so she adds- ] Luffy was here before, but he disappeared. He might have gone back home, if anything.
[ She's never met Zoro, so she wouldn't be able to talk about him.
A sip of her coffee and then a sheepish grin from her follows. She listens some more, eats a bit more, enjoying the breakfast that was especially made for her. Much as she'd like to help, it seems she's really only giving him more and more questions to ask. At least he thinks she's wise! That's a very nice compliment to hear. ]
But that is my name though - Weiss!
[ She'd be preening like a cat right now because of that smart pun, but she hesitates if only because maybe this might not be the time for humour. ]
It must be even more confusing now, huh?
i'm sorry these are so long aslkdjfds he has a lot of Feelings okay
It feels like a physical blow hearing those words, a sharp strike that leaves him staring wide-eyed and confused. Eight months is a hell of a long time and, more importantly, a timeframe that feels impossible. How can she have been here for eight months when, in his memories, it hasn’t even been a day since they were together back on the Going Merry?
And yet, insomuch as it feels impossible, being here should be impossible, too. The room around him, the watch on his wrist… those are both things that he’d never think were possible without seeing them with his own eyes. It’s still confusing, still hard to wrap his head around, but he’d been prepared for seemingly impossible things the moment they set sail for the Grand Line.
Even considering that, he’s not sure he could ever have been prepared for this. ]
Fuck. [ His shoulders sag a bit, but he tries to perk up at the idea that Luffy might be back home. As comforting as it would be to have his Captain here, the idea of him trapped anywhere instead of adventuring on the seas is viscerally wrong. Of course, doing it without him is neither here nor there, but… ] I hope he’s home. Shit, I hope everyone else is home, too.
[ Much as he’d love to have them here, it’s better if they aren’t, given everything Weiss has disclosed. A slight smile spreads across his face at her comment, even though his mind is still whirling. ]
Yeah, yeah, it is. Weiss who’s as beautiful as a snowflake and as wise as her name suggests. [ He winks at her, flirting almost out of instinct, as he continues to process the idea of Nami being stuck here for as long as she has.
And then gives her a grateful smile because, yeah, yeah, it’s confusing. ]
Just a bit. I just saw her— and Luffy— before I went to bed. Can’t have been more than twelve hours ago at most. [ That memory is sharp and crisp, one of the last things he remembers about home: all of them gathered around the table, eating dinner together in high spirits as they sailed onwards to leave their pasts and the East Blue behind them. ] If you say it’s eight months, I believe you. Just dunno how that’s possible. [ It’s then that realization hits him that he was supposedly here during that time and with it, a wave of unfounded guilt. ] If I was here then… I disappeared and left her to deal with this place’s crap all on its own. And I don’t remember a thing about it. Just a little confusing, yeah.
[ And as confusing as it may be, the part of Sanji that wants to fix things, to help protect the people he cares about, understands that he can’t let his confusion stop him in place for too long. He takes another bite of the omelette, not really enjoying it in the way he should, and sighs. ] Guess the hows don’t really matter here, though. I just gotta find her, yeah? That’s more important since this place can apparently just do whatever it wants.
please do not worry about that!! 🙏
If only there was some way she could try and alleviate some of his concerns. But as it is right now, she doesn't have enough information to share. She also would rather not speak for Nami because it isn't her place, but she can at least say something that she thinks is important. ]
Nami's a tough girl, you know. Much tougher than I am. But if you really want to apologise to her for leaving her alone, I think you can get her some flowers, some chocolates, and write her a card.
[ While that might be a little unnecessary, pampering Nami and giving her lots of attention is what Weiss would do if she did anything wrong and wanted to apologise. Besides, Nami might appreciate a surprise like that from a friend, too! :) ]
You got it - this place can do whatever it wants, when it wants. Think of it like... nothing is impossible here. So even if it doesn't make sense that Nami's been here a while and you just saw her yesterday, you can also think that maybe time passes differently here. One second in your world could already be a year in here, or something like that.
[ Impossible? Yeah. Weiss has experienced something like that before though, practically tossed into the Wonderland-equivalent of her world just before coming here. ]

That smile stays plastered on her face as she offers advice. It’s good advice, too, something he takes note of and decides to act on later— once he’s actually met up with her and figured out more about this place. ]
Nah, I know. She can take care of herself. Better than the rest of us can take care of ourselves. [ Sanji doesn’t know how much of her past Nami’s talked about with Weiss and so he doesn’t bother mentioning specifics— her past is hers to disclose, not his— while they talk. ] But she shouldn’t have to. Part of being on a crew is having people who’ll watch your back and keep you safe.
[ And whether he remembers it or not, whether he had control over it or not, it feels like a failure on his part to have left her here all on her own. It’s not rational, and Sanji even knows that, but it doesn’t stop him feeling that way. ]
That’s good advice. Thanks Weiss, I’m gonna do just that. [ That grateful smile widens before he takes another quick bite of his omelette, determined not to let it go to waste while she expands on the nature of time and this place. It slips a little the more she talks, replaced by a thoughtful frown. ]
I guess that’s not all bad. When we get outta here, we might be able to just go back to whatever we were doing before, yeah? [ Although he wonders what that would be like, being here for months or a year and returning to his crew as if nothing had changed. Or would it even be like that? Would they just lose their memories, just like he’s apparently lost all of his, upon returning home for good? Too many damn questions. ] And it’s gotta be better than everyone else worrying about us. If that’s the way it works for us. Still… that’s a damn long time to be here. And being able to do whatever it wants…
[ He shakes his head and tries not to imagine what that could mean because there’s already too much stewing around in his head. There’s time enough to think about that later. He cuts another piece of his omelette with the edge of his fork and takes another bite. The slight feeling of hunger hasn’t gone away yet, but he still has plenty of omelette left to finish, so that will surely help, right? ]
C’mon, let’s finish breakfast and get outta here. You gotta give me the tour before we go find Nami.

Give me some credit! I may not be part of your crew, but I look out after Nami when I can.
[ In more ways than one. WINK WINK.
It's a friendship that's blossomed in a way that Weiss never really expected. She's not the friendliest, but has definitely softened up and learned how to socialise with others throughout the years. If she met Nami just to play chess and all, it would take a while for them to actually be considered friends. With sex on the table and all those other things the resort does to bring people closer together, the two definitely have made a bond that isn't severable, regardless if they're completely aware of each other's pasts or not. ]
It's a possibility, yes. [ How that works? Well, Weiss doesn't have a clue. Because if you end up spending 10 years here and growing older and all that, only to find yourself back in your world at the moment in time that you were taken from, what would you look like? What would it feel like? ] But, just take things one day at a time, okay? One thing at a time, too. It won't be any good if you have too much on your mind. The stress won't be good.
[ Easier said than done, though. But she hopes he'll at least try. ]
Right. Thanks for this again.
[ She was just huffily pointing her fork at him earlier, but it's back to enjoying the rest of her food! Weiss has a very demure way of eating, making sure no crumbs or bits end up on the corners of her mouth or chin, but if they do, she ensures to wipe it away with a napkin right away. Truly the kind of etiquette one might observe from someone brought up in high-class society. ]

The bond they share as a crew isn't just the same thing as being friends. Not quite. It's something slightly deeper than that, earned after risking all of their lives together to achieve a common goal, bound in a desire to leave their pasts behind and live for the future while accomplishing their dreams. He's not lying to Weiss when he says that Nami has people here to watch out for here— he's glad of that, particularly considering for how long she didn't have one to do that— but it doesn’t bring him the same comfort that it would if Luffy or Zoro or Usopp were here with her.
Ultimately, that’s why he feels such a pressing need to go find her. If none of the others are here, the duty falls to him. And, okay, seeing her would definitely bring a bright smile to his face, but it’s really the former that matters. ]
Shit. This whole place is already too damn complicated. [ A part of him takes a little solace in the idea that if he plays his cards right (ha!), they might simply be able to return to the Going Merry before it enters the Grand Line before too much time has passed. Of course, there’s nothing to say they can get out of here that quickly or that things even really work like that going back. He nods at her suggestion, smiling at her. ] Probably for the best, yeah. It’s just a lot all at once, you know? One minute I’m dozing off to sleep back here, the next I’m here finding out a crewmate I saw a few hours ago has been trapped in this shitty resort for months.
[ He grins, the delight obvious in his face, as she thanks him for the meal. ]
It was nothing. Always a pleasure to cook for someone as kind and lovely as you are.
[ Sanji watches vaguely as she finished her breakfast, noting the very refined and delicate way she eats. Baratie was a relatively nice restaurant, but very few of the people that came there ate like she did. The way he eats isn’t quite as delicate or refined, but it’s clear he has manners, if not the kind of etiquette that comes from a life in high-class society. By the time he’s done, he frowns down at the plate for a brief moment, the hunger not really having faded despite the filling meal.
Still, he doesn’t question it too much and stretches, smiling at her before standing up and offering her his hand (as any gentleman would.) ] Shall we?
[ OOC: Important question! We talked about taking this thread a spicy direction so: spicy before they leave the suite or after? I’m down for either but wanted your input. 👀 ]

If her teammates ever showed up here though, she has a feeling that they'd feel bad for not being here for Weiss sooner. It's just how it is in a team. In a family.
Given that Sanji doesn't argue, Weiss takes her win with a happy little humph. ]
See, I could have just let you find out about Nami on your own, but... that would have felt wrong.
[ At least he's met someone he can dump all his questions to, and he isn't with someone who knows just as little about this place. Weiss doesn't know everything yet, but she'll make sure that Sanji's equipped with enough knowledge that he won't get into all sorts of trouble before he crosses paths with another person. ]
Why do I get the feeling that you're going to enjoy yourself here once the initial panic and confusion's done and over with?
[ By which she means, boy are you a smooth talker... Weiss giggles to herself, making sure that her utensils are properly placed to the side once she's done eating. If this is Sanji's suite for the next couple of days, no doubt the staff would make sure that he doesn't have to do any chores like washing the dishes. It's why Weiss doesn't offer to do that, either.
Instead, she hops down the stool once Sanji's stood up. It's instinct to straighten up her skirt when she realises that, ah... yes... this stupid outfit. Sanji's wearing the same thing... which makes her think that he needs a better outfit (probably??) if he's going to walk around the caisno. So does she. ]
Right. Can we get some clothes first, though? I think if you asked the staff nicely, they'll at least get us some robes. You usually get special treatment if you're new.
( OOC: Prob before is best! Although if you have ideas for after I'd be down to work around it! )

It says a lot about Weiss that she was willing to tell him. There’s still a lot to learn about the resort— and the kinds of people staying here— but doubtless there are more than a few people that would’ve held that information back for their own reasons. That and her willingness to answer all of his questions with as in-depth of explanations as she can give continues to paint her in a very positive light.
Even if she is very obviously teasing him about how much he enjoys flirting.
That doesn’t stop him from grinning at her or laughing quietly as he gives his head a quick shake. ]
Nah. I’d rather be back home, you know? Dreams to accomplish and friends to see. [ Which is a very in-the-moment to look at things— ignoring that there could be good parts— but he very stubbornly refuses to budge on this for the moment.
Is she right? Probably, but that’s not something Sanji can even think about being possible, not right now.
Ignoring the slight pang of hunger that remains, it’s only really when she asks about getting a change of clothing that he realizes he’s largely forgotten about it and laughs quietly, nodding. ]
I’ll, uh, do that as soon as I figure out how. Is there usually someone at the door or do I need to actually go find someone? [ There’s a hint of sheepishness to his voice as he asks the question because, now that he’s been reminded about it, he would prefer the change of clothing before leaving the room.
He takes a few steps forwards after offering her his elbow again, frowning slightly as he realizes that something feels off with his body. It takes him a second to place it, a warm feeling that seems concentrated around the swooping golden marks along his limbs and, presumably, his torso. When he turns to her, it’s to ask a seemingly innocuous question. ] Does it feel warm in here to you?
[ OOC: in the suite super works! we’ll get them to spiciness shortly. unless there’s a specific suit-effect you’re interested in, i figure i’d keep it simple and keep the effects to pure arousal, but certainly open to other options! feel free to shoot me a PM or something if you wanna discuss. ]

[ There's a great feeling of satisfaction on Weiss' end whenever it feels like she's helped somebody. Being able to give information and educating another person feels even better, because just being around and not helping someone else be equipped with what they need to know feels like such a bad thing to her. A crime, even.
Seeing as she's taken the position of being someone respectable, someone worth looking up to and leaning on, she won't tease him too much. Not to mention, they did just meet. She doesn't want to get too friendly. That's a little too much, especially for her who's supposed to be that cool Ice Queen type, to begin with. ]
Come to think of it, it might not work for you if you just arrived... Try to see if you have an app on your Watch that calls for staff? One will come here as soon as they get the request.
[ Or something! There aren't any rules. Weiss thinks that for a suite like this, he must have special treatment, so hopefully he'll get some staff to come by. ]
And no, I don't feel warm. [ But she does tilt her head curiously, wondering if she's just not realising it but it actually is. For someone who's so used to the cold though, she also knows she'd be able to recognise the heat and warmth first. ] Maybe it's because you were working on the stove earlier?
[ Their food seemed safe, so she doesn't even think about that. ]
