【 Hello, dearest guests. We hope you have been enjoying your time in the Golden Peacock and utilizing our many amenities.
Reception would like all guests to be aware that some new arrivals have been misplaced. Due to the nature of the resort, new arrivals may have been misplaced in unexpected locations. This includes your personal suites. We are very sorry for this inconvenience.
Please do not be alarmed if you come across a misplaced new arrival. We kindly request that any guests that find a misplaced new arrival escort them to the main hub, where we have arranged a central meetup where all new arrivals can claim their complimentary robes and welcome baskets.
All guests are invited to come mingle at the main hub and meet new arrivals. As always, we hope you have a pleasant day! 】

DEALER'S CHOICE
STEVE, WHERE DID YOU PUT THE NEW ARRIVALS?

The Golden Peacock has swept away the hues of winter and welcomed vibrant pops of color for a change of pace. Gone are the snow whites and cool golds. Vases of bright florals have been staged all throughout the general hubs and hallways. Statues have been cheekily decorated with bright clothes, such as charming hats and billowing dresses with cheerful prints. This peacock has cleaned up nicely, its brilliant feathers shaking with a warm palette to please the senses.
Staff are bustling during the decor turnover. While some diligent employees are steadfastly decorating the hallways with sprawling vines and spectacular blooms, others are darting back and forth in search of something. Or rather — someone. Several someones. Front reception is in an outright panic while flying over the phones and furiously slamming their hands on keyboards.
"Steve, I know you're new, but you can't just press any button that pops up on the computer screen! The new arrivals are supposed to go into temporary suites." Deborah, the head receptionist, sighs, "Now who knows where they are. I hope they're okay... I'm sure they're quite confused, wherever they wound up. Steve, stop crying. The house won't fire you for this. Probably. How's your resume looking?"
In the end, Steve didn't get fired. But he did get reassigned to trash duty.

FLORAL RIOT
A STRIKE OF COLOR

【 🌸🌸🌸 Come experience new floral delights! Prepare to be ravished by a symphony of color and aroma. Romance, love, and pleasure all await within corridors of beauty. 🌸 🌸 🌸 】
Days before the grand unveiling, the gardeners of the Cloud Dwelling Garden distribute flyers announcing that their special floral exhibition is now ready for guests to enjoy. Long-standing guests vibrate in anticipation, eagerly stomping around the gardens until the ribbon is cut and the newest resort amenity has been revealed. The gardeners make a point to approach new guests and encourage them to join in on the fun, explaining that the house likes to create a new floral experience for guests every few years or so.
Exhibition opening is set for mid-month. On the 15th precisely, the gardeners line up in front of the white sheet hiding the project, each taking a turn to bow and say a few short words about how grand and generous the house is for giving them such rewarding jobs.
The curtains fall away to a wall of shockingly bright florals. Guests ooh and aahh at not only the array of shades but at the luxurious meld of so many different kinds of flowers. Wisteria and roses, lilies and carnations. Lilacs, peonies, daisies, daffodils, sunflowers. More and more and more and more. The staff explain that this flower maze is perhaps their most intricate piece of work yet and that there is grand surprise waiting at the heart. Additionally, as part of the festivities, several prizes have been hidden around the maze at dead-ends. Long-standing guests clap and cheer before charging inside.
The flower maze will only last as long as the most fleeting flowers do. The flower maze will remain open to the public for several weeks, after which it will close for further remodeling.
"We'll be open again with another complex arrangement," one of the gardeners explains cheerfully. "A maze isn't fun once you've learned the layout. We'll open again after creating a whole new design for guests to enjoy. Maybe even some new flowers, too. A lot of the ones on the lawn got funky after guests came all over them..."

SMOKY NECTAR
DRIBBLE OF SWEETNESS

The conservatory is even busier than the gardens. Unlike the easygoing staff in the garden, employees in the conservatory are busy zooming to and fro with brooms while trying to get a handle on the unexpectedly huge amount of pollen. From flowers, from trees — so much pollen. The ground is coated and the air is thick. Several long-standing guests visiting the area have fallen into sneezing fits. Even with cleaning efforts to mitigate the build-up, the pollen becomes thicker as the weeks go on. Staff eventually give up on trying to sweep it away.
This pollen is not standard. Guests that inhale this pollen will begin to feel feverish and strange. Continued exposure to this pollen will heighten a desire for sex to the point of all-encompassing need. Orgasms become much more intense. Nipples are constantly hard. Guests may also be overwhelmed with the urge to "fertilize or become fertilized" — to aggressively deliver or receive cumshots. Gardeners soon realize that normal pollen has been tainted by the cross-breeding of their new spectacular fruits, resulting in an extremely potent sex pollen that affects people and animals. This sex pollen is stronger than any of the current aphrodisiacs in the resort, baffling the gardeners. They weren't even trying to make horny fruit!
The effects of the sex pollen will ease after a few days unless exposure is continued. Guests with too much exposure to the sex pollen may find themselves passing out from violently intense successive orgasms. Any guests found unconscious post-orgasm will be delivered to the Broken Wing clinic for recovery.
The sex pollen will fade out within a few weeks, when the new breeds of fruit have all been harvested and delivered to restaurants. The gardeners collectively agree to be more careful when engineering new breeds in the future. "I do think," reports one worker in the conservatory, "the house will be impressed that we've managed to engineer an even stronger aphrodisiac. Great things happen on accident!"

PETAL-STAINED LIPS
A BLOOMING DISEASE

👩🦰 "Hack hack, hack hack... what do you mean, 'please cover my mouth when I cough'? I'm a rank nine. Nine! You can't tell me what to do. Now, clean up this mess. I've been coughing up flower petals all day." 👩🦰
Wet, smudged petals scatter across the floors of the Peacock. The source is initially unclear, since the perfectly groomed flowers in their decorative vases are in perfect condition. Soon the number of guests coughing into their fists begins to rise and more soggy plants plague the hallways.
After the garden and conservatory unveil their Spring additions the clinic will begin to over-run with guests complaining of various symptoms. There aren't enough beds and there certainly aren't enough doctors and nurses to meet rising demand. Guests continue to visit the clinic complaining of some sort of flower cold while spitting up petals and leaves. Advanced cases involve a deeper spread of vines through the patient's body.
Though this illness manifests in many different ways, the head doctor in charge is quick to clock that it's the Blooming Disease working its way through the resort's population. Not an especially dangerous disease. More troublesome than anything and a mess to clean up. Luckily, there are extensive notes in their files about this particular disease and how to treat it.
The height of the disease will hit toward the end of the month. Thanks to the hard work of the doctors and nurses in the clinic, cases will begin to decrease as the days pile on, with the majority of the affected guests treated and sent on their way by the beginning of May. Activity in the clinic will begin to decline as patients fuck it out and cure the disease, with only a handful of scattered cases heading past the first week of May.

PROMPT NOTES
PROMPT NOTES
▶ Arrival, The Bathroom Button: Multiple versions of arrival are possible. Characters may be flushed down the toilet or tub to wake up in several different locations across the resort.
▶ Gardens, The Flower Maze: While players are welcome to imagine whatever they like in these chests, we do ask there be some limits. Characters should not find their special awesome sword or other personal items that were taken away by the resort upon arrival, for example. Items that would generally be available within resort stores or without regains are fine.
▶ Conservatory, General: While this location is currently being influenced by sex pollen, players that do not enjoy this kink may have their character immune to its effects. This will not affect engaging in the hanahaki prompt.
▶ Conservatory, The Orchard: Players are encouraged to get creative with effects from these fruits. While we've offered a couple suggestions, any of the affiliated suit's effects are available to tap into. For example, consumption of Orangeberry, aka the Diamonds fruit, can cause any Diamond-adjacent physical effects.
▶ Broken Wing Clinic: Players are allowed to get as delicate or grotesque with the presentation of the Blooming Disease as they’d like; you can even use this as an opportunity to engage in some vine-y bondage play. From the medical perspective, feel free to envision access to any sort of equipment you’d like, so long as it makes sense within a (sexy) clinical setting.

[His usage of "we" there is referring to them as living beings, rather than him including himself amongst humans.
Soundwave does notice that she doesn't say "we". He knows she's a video game character, supposedly. While Soundwave will likely say that she is human, he can't say he can entirely relate to her in this predicament. He wonders how she must feel being a human now...]
Humans are fragile, but I would not call them weak. But I will admit that I am surprise humans managed to live that long and are the dominant species on Earth.
[It's impressive, really.
With a quiet nod, he bends down to his knees and helps Monika to climb down to the floor. Then, once she's safely got off him, Soundwave sits on the floor crossed legs.]
You should make yourself comfortable, Monika.
[On the chair, he means. She doesn't have to sit down on the floor with him.]
I have no issue with the books not being written by you. As I said... I like listening to your voice.
no subject
She stares at her shelves of books. A lot of them were already provided by the resort, many tending towards the erotic side, but she's been adding to them with her own picks that have interested her--books she's always heard of or had some vague memory of, but never got to actually read herself, or whatever caught her eye and she impulsively grabbed. So many words and thoughts of humans over the ages...and she kept feeling like none of them could fully apply to her.
With a small shake of her head, she shoves the sadness away, then grabs a few books. She tries to pick ones that aren't on the more depressing side, plus one raunchy one, just for laughs. Besides, he doesn't need to be wooed with words from The Bell Jar. By the time she's turned away from the books, she's back to smiling as if nothing's wrong. If there's anything she prides herself on, it's never letting anyone see her break. Well, minus him, but that was a one-time fluke. It won't happen again. ]
Opposable thumbs make all the difference, I guess~ And whichever mammal decided walking on four legs was too boring, ahaha. [ She strolls over, then promptly plops down into the space between his legs. After tossing a cushy pillow in there first, anyway. ] Humans are weird. That's why I'm happier sitting here~
[ There. She forced herself to pretend she's fully human. He has no reason to suspect anything. Everything's fine! ]
What else do you like about me, hmm~? How about my ability to teach you how to have fun for once in your life?
no subject
This is one of those cases where Soundwave at least has some tack and a sense of moral to not dig into a person's mind. Though part of it is actually his fear of Monika knowing about this ability of his might cause her to fear and put distance away from him. It's not exactly a secret back home, but for those who don't know him? He'd rather keep that a secret for as long as possible. His optics behind the visor simply stare at the smiling Monika, not saying a word until she plops down on him.
At least she has a pillow with her. Otherwise, he might fuss again.]
I'd say you are much more weirder than a typical human.... but you are still human regardless.
[Hmmm, whatever could he mean by that?]
What are you implying...? That I never had..... fun before meeting you? [The fact he even struggled to say the word.... But it's true, Monika does have the ability to teach how to have fun and relax for once in his life. And what short time they had together? It's enjoyable. Even ignoring all the love making they did, it's actually fun with her.
Now what else does he likes about his friend. A hum of his vents, warm air blow the back of her head as his large metal hand rests loosely on her stomach. He tilts his head down to meet with her eyes.]
Seeing you smile.
[With that answer, he traces her bottom lip with the lightest of touch with his metallic fingertip. He's decided against adding "true smile" in there, as... that might be telling that he knows she's pretending. He'll let her live her lie for a little while longer. And besides... they're supposed to be having... fun right now.]
no subject
But! No worries about that, eh? Especially when he's poking fun at her. He gets a sullen look. ]
I'm not weird!
[ Ignoring the human part, too! They're no longer discussing that! ]
And yeah, I'm totally implying that! [ She lightly pokes a finger into his side, lest he start fussing about that. ] You wouldn't know fun if it slapped you in the face! Which is why it's my duty to show you what fun is!
[ Or is it her duty to smile for him? He slaps a shocked look onto her face. Wow. That's...
He may not immediately get a smile out of her for that, but she does pout. And blush. And stare down at her books. This jerk of a mech, saying nice things like that! ]
That's...a weird thing to like.
[ It's the best counter she can come up with while enjoying the tingles left behind from the touch of his finger. Despite her small bout of tsundere, she's quickly softened up, then slowly, he gets one of the smiles he apparently likes so much. Fine, he's earned some more kindness. ]
But it's okay. Because I like seeing you smile, too. Well, ahaha, your avatar, anyway. It's nice to see you happy, since you haven't had much fun.
no subject
Such accusation, though! Even if it's true! He can't deny that he wouldn't fun. He's a boring mech. Before Monika, the closest he's ever done something fun was reading books.]
There is nothing wrong with weird.
[Of all weird stuff, this one he will embrace. Because it's always so sweet to see her pure smile.
Though, out of all the dumb counters she had thrown out at him, this may be her weakest one yet. But at least he's treated with a rather rare side of Monika. A cute petulant-like pout on her. Short-lived, as it is. But he's treated with something better and sweeter than her bout of tsundere-- her smile. A smile that seems to be more natural than the forced smile she had earlier.]
Then, I suppose... You may have to keep teaching me how to have fun, seeing as it is your duty.
[His finger continues to brush over her lips to the corner of her mouth, tracing her smile, before moving to her cheek. Until Monika has enough of it, he'll continue to brush his finger on her.]
Perhaps you may once again see my smile. You have plenty of chances to earn that and show me something fun tomorrow
no subject
Better to be weird with someone than weird alone.
[ After thinking on it briefly, she sets down the book she'd been about to open and pulls his hand down from her cheek. It's not from being tired of being touched or lead them down a naughtier path. It's all for purely innocent reasons. She's just never been able to really look at him like this, up close and personal. To see the differences. She wants to know everything about her...friend.
Her fingers run over the joints of his hand, intrigued as always by how it feels to be touching metal instead of skin, like she's been otherwise getting used to. ]
I'll teach you lots and lots, don't worry. But, um, if you don't mind me asking... [ For once, she says that instead of plowing right into demanding information. She looks up at his face. ] What does your kind do for fun? Or anything. Whatever you want to share. Because...I want to know more about you. Then maybe I can figure out more ways to make you smile.
no subject
He wonders what is it specifically that made her soft all of a sudden. Not that he minds it, it's just a little shock.]
That is a broad question, Monika. We are not a monolith. Every individual Cybertronian has their own likes, dislikes, and that includes what they do for fun.
I suppose I could tell you what other Cybertronians do for fun from what I've observed. Some play sports. Some write. Some sing. Go to dance party. Or visit the bar and drink the night away. I could list many activities.
[With a little shift, his other arm joins in to embrace Monika in a loose hug, gently coaxing her to be closer to him if she wants, so she could feel his warm metal all around her. Regardless if she chooses to snuggle up to him, hs other hand's fingers softly presses her stomach and makes circles on her.]
If we are talking about my interests, specifically.... I'm afraid you may find my answer lacking. [Unsurprisingly. A beat.] I never had time to find out what I do for...... fun. I like to read books. And watch animals. That is... About it.
[He shrugs lightly. Both of which aren't exactly a big revelation or anything. At least the latter one he admitted to her once before.]
You may find me boring, but.... That is why I... Want you to show me what is fun.
no subject
[ Which also applies to some other things, but there'll be no going into that, because it's not friendly enough. ]
That's nice to hear, though. [ Her smile softens, and she definitely moves in closer, stealing up all the comfort he wants to give. ] Some people only like to focus on differences, but things like that? It just shows how we're all the same in the end, no matter the planet.
[ She's quiet for a while after that, thinking on everything. Something like sadness comes over her. Maybe sympathy? Whatever it is, it leaves an ache in her chest. Sometimes, she hates how alike they are. They're both lost at sea, simply trying to figure out who they are, because any chances they had to find themselves were wrenched away, if they even existed.
There's a sigh, and she places her hand on his. A small attempt at comfort. For him? For her? Maybe both. ]
By the way? If I actually found you boring, would I be here in your arms right now? [ She curls in closer. ] Just you wait. We'll both have lots of fun to make up for what fun we never could have. And you are going to figure out one fun thing you like without me, okay?
no subject
Looking past our physical differences, there isn't much differences between us on the inside. We all are individuals with our own wants and desires and have the capability to forge our own path.
[She's right, though. Despite what may he think himself a boring company, despite everything, she's still with him, settled comfortably in his arms. Even further than that, she doesn't exactly hide it that she wants him to stay with her. He isn't exactly sure what is it about him that makes Monika want him so much.... It's not exactly a bad feeling to be wanted.
He's not sure what to say.... But there isn't any need to say anything, is there? By now, she should be used to him being more of a mech of action than words, not being the best at crafting words in the moment like she's capable of. So to show his appreciation, he brings his free hand up to brush her cheek with his fingers, and then tries his best to cup at her cheek without having his large hand on her entire face. And to end it, he mutters:]
... Thank you, Monika.
no subject
As her eyes open, she kisses his fingers and peers up at his face. ]
You're welcome, Soundwave. And...
[ Why, indeed, has she been so much softer all of a sudden? It's more than having the freedom to hoard all of his attention and affection. Hell, she constantly finds herself not caring only about her own selfish needs. She keeps trying to give the same kindness back. He's inexplicably drawing out a confusing desire to be the version of her she's not used to sharing with others...
Monika slides her arms around him, holding him as best someone as small as her can. Being this close, now she can fully hear the pleasant hum of life she loves so much. A life she feels connected to, because he's helped her feel like less of an other. ]
Thank you for making me feel...human.
no subject
For a long moment, he lets her rest her head on his chest, have her listen to the hum and pulse of energy pulsating within him while providing warmth to her cheek with his hand. Silence fill the room as they both curl up to each other for warmth.
Then, after several minutes has passed, his hand then moves back down to her stomach, marking an end to the silence.]
Shall we read a book, Monika?
no subject
His voice stirs her out of her descent into drowsiness, and she jerks upright, shifting her neat pile of books into a mess spread across her lap. Oops. ]
Oh! Yeah! [ She clears her throat. He saw nothing! ] Let me see. I was going to start with Alice in Wonderland, since it's pretty lighthearted. And...it's a nice story when you feel like a fish out of water.
[ Fitting! It's definitely the theme of the day. You'd think she was trying to get a literature club meeting going! ]
It's weird, too. [ She giggles before she can stop it. ] But that's something that makes me like it, too.
[ He gets a quick upward glance and a smile, then she focuses on the book, opening it to the first chapter. It's not long before her smile's widened, and she hasn't even begun reading. Can you tell she likes this one? ]
Don't expect me to do voices, by the way. [ She says, then immediately puts on her "performance" voice as she begins to read: ] Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, "and what is the use of a book," thought Alice, "without pictures or conversations?"
[ She giggles more, poking at the picture of the White Rabbit on the page. ] Isn't it so cute and silly already?
no subject
And, hey, if she wants to run a literature club meeting, he wouldn't mind being a formal member, either.
Soundwave doesn't mind a lighthearted story. This entire moment they shared has been nothing but lighthearted, and so it may best to not change and keep the mood as is. Hopefully she won't mind his hand resting on the back of Monika's hand holding the book. He simply likes to feel her warmth on him, too, even with her hand being smaller than his own.]
It certainly is. I have a feeling this book contains... Whimsical adventures. Although to question what use of book without pictures or conversations in it... I suspect that this Alice is a child? Or, perhaps a child who can't pay attention without pretty pictures.
[Expect him to do a bit of his own commentary whenever she pauses, but he won't ever interrupt her mid-performance.]
no subject
Focus. He said something. She'll keep earning her "weird" label if she doesn't answer. ]
Ahaha. It does. That's what makes it so fun. Everything's so absurd, but...you can't help but love it. [ Then she nods. ] Alice is a little girl, so you get to see all this through a child's eyes.
[ Something wistful slips into her voice when she says: ] Just like when you have to learn all about a life you've never known before.
[ Oops. Too real! Back to reading, then. ]
So she was considering in her own mind, (as well as she could, for the hot day made her feel very sleepy and stupid,) [ Sounds familiar... ] whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain would be worth the trouble of getting up and picking the daisies, when suddenly a white rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her. There was nothing so very remarkable in that; nor did Alice think it so very much out of the way to hear the Rabbit say to itself, "Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be too late!” (when she thought it over afterwards, it occurred to her that she ought to have wondered at this, but at the time it all seemed quite natural); but when the Rabbit actually took a watch out of its waistcoat-pocket, and looked at it, and then hurried on, Alice started to her feet, for it flashed across her mind that she had never before seen a rabbit with either a waistcoat-pocket or a watch to take out of it, and...
[ The adventure continues. Monika's definitely attempting voices for each character, too, because it'd feel criminal not to. She has way too much fun with it, and an absolute blast with whatever poems she comes across. Eventually, she decides to take a break on a page where the writing twists and turns to look like an actual tail. And they haven't even gotten to the most whimsical parts! ]
Hey. Question.
[ She's being polite again! Alice is having an effect on her, the proper little lady that she is. ]
I know you're super old and all, but...do you remember being a kid?
no subject
An amused huff escapes him when she starts doing voices for the characters. So much for telling him she won't be doing any voices. But it's fine. Monika seems to be having fun doing those voices, and in turn, it makes his spark warm seeing her overjoyed in her reading, especially when she starts reading poem in her melodic tone of hers.
Her question gets him to tilts his head.]
I.... Do not.
[Discomfort suddenly shivers into his being. A part of him want to just keep it to himself, reluctant to share his past, but... there is an urge in him that Monika should at least know about himself. So, he starts.]
I do not retain my early memories. Not because I am forgetful...
[He always keeps records of things.]
You know I have powerful hearings. I was born with this... ability. Some sort of mutation in the coding? A gift from Primus, our God? I do not know, and still have not found an answer. But the moment I was forged, I can hear... All sorts of noises all around me with no way to block them all off. I had no help because I was... "weird". A freak. The government back then labelled me an "outcast" because of this superpower and I was forced to live on the street with no aid, leaving me to deal with the noises alone.
[His arm around her stomach clutches her closer, for comfort, but his tone remains even.]
All of my early memories are gone, destroyed by overload of information forced into me by my own uncontrolled hearings, before.... friends found me and taught me the art of focus.
[Then, he stays silent for a moment, tightening his embrace around her, just a smidge so she isn't feeling discomfort.]
I apologize. You... Should continue reading.
[He didn't mean to bring the mood down.]

Granted, she knew it wasn't going to be good for her, either. Just like someone seeking a dangerous thrill they know they should avoid, she was hoping to hear things that would fill her with wonder, much like Alice's adventures. Then, just for a little while, she could experience his happiness vicariously. One of her typical selfish desires that she rationalizes isn't so bad, since all she's doing is asking questions.
Well. You know what they say about curiosity and the cat.
She shuts the book, keeping their place with her hand. ]
I'll keep going in a bit. [ Maybe. ] Sorry. I just thought...maybe you'd had at least one happy, innocent time in your life.
[ Her eyes drop down to her lap, the cheerful cover of the book almost garish now. ] That's awful, Soundwave. You can't help that your hearing is that good. I can't even imagine...
[ And maybe it was even a divine power? Scary. Thankfully, she's assuming this scary superpower of his involves only hearing sounds. Fitting for someone with his name! But, with that assumption, it's making his treatment seem all the more unfair. Anger builds inside of her, an intense flash fire that consumes her in seconds. ]
I wish I could hurt everyone that made you hurt that bad. Every single one. You couldn't help who are. You can't help what hand you were dealt...
[ Her voice is trembling. Tears from her fury are welling up in her eyes. If he gets a sense of her emotions with the true power he has, he's going to feel nothing but an unadulterated desire to kill. The feelings are so intense, she nearly rips the pages her hand is over. ]
I'm glad you found friends who could help you. [ In this moment, not even her typical jealousy can cut through the rage. ] If they were able to give me the chance to meet the version of you that you were meant to be, then...I owe them a lot.
[ She looks up as her tears roll down her cheeks, fierce determination in her expression. ]
I told you. We'll be weird together. Always.

That was ages ago. A life he's thankfully escaped, but unforgettable memory.
The air grow somber and awkward. Guilt to start to seep within him, regrets that the admittance has ruined the lighthearted mood they were going for. Then there's a taste of red hot fury in the air, and the source of it coming from none other than Monika herself. Her words are laced with fury
His visor stares down at Monika's teary face, the righteous fury in her eyes that could kill a person if they dared look her way.]
Monika...
[His hand reaches to her face once again. Careful to not hit an eye, as he tries to catch her tear with his large digit, just the slightest of brush on her skin.]
I fear you may be too late for that, as those who were responsible for my home's horrid system are long dead. [Maybe there were some random citizens in there that jeered at him before that is still alive to this day, but who really cares about them.] But I appreciate the sentiment, all the same.
[He won't chastise her for wanting to hurt - or kill -those who had wronged him in the past. After all, that same exact fury that's swelling inside Monika is the same exact fury that swelled in him when he saw how other lesser Cybertronians are treated by those higher up.
Soundwave falls to silence. It would be great if Monika could meet his friends. But alas.... they aren't as fortunate as him to be alive. Or, perhaps... Maybe one day that the hotels deemed it worthy to bring them here alive, just as they did with him, albeit a temporary stay.
Not wanting to upset the mood further, he simply gives Monika a small nod.]
I owe them, because they saved my life. And... I owe you, too. For keeping me company and be... weird with me.

[ She could sense the change in atmosphere. A little joke helps, right?
There's a sigh. At least his touch had felt nice. He's always trying to be so careful with her, she can tell. So fragile, isn't she? If she'd wanted to do anything to right the wrongs he'd faced, there's no way she could manage it. What would she do, try to find a gun? Even then, just being up against Soundwave's body, she figures that'd be as good as throwing a rock at him. At this point, she's convinced nothing short of a nuke could take his kind out.
Her head leans against him while she wipes away the other fallen tear. No point in worrying herself over something she can't fix. Her anger fades, and she's left with a feeling of warmth. At least she has him. ]
Thank you for doing the same for me.
[ A silence follows, definitely an awkward one. Mainly on her end, though. A thought's hit her, one that's uncomfortable. Mostly because she finds herself wondering if she's really going to offer what she's considering. It's a strange feeling, wanting to share...
For now, she closes the book. It won't be hard to find where they left off, considering the page is so unique. ]
You can ask me something. Anything you want. It's only fair after I made you remember all that uncomfortable stuff.
no subject
[That gets a light poke on her cheek.
Though it does the job of lightening the mood. Just a smidge. The atmosphere is still awkward, even with Monika's justified anger dying down. At least him rubbing his finger on her cheek feels nice...
At her appreciation, Soundwave gives him a quiet nod, before the awkward silence fall. Ah, he wouldn't even know what to say in this moment, having shared something uncomfortable from his past. All he could really do now is continue hugging Monika from behind, until she's ready to read again, whenever she's ready.
It doesn't seem like he needs to say anything, as Monika suddenly makes an offer. An offer that surprises him, frankly. Anything he wants? Part of him is curious about her... well, he's not sure if he could call it home if she hated it, but another part of him doesn't want to push her to talk about a topic she's likely uncomfortable with, even if she said it's only fair given the uncomfortable truth he shared about this past. After a moment of deliberation, he eventually decides to ask something, cautiously.]
Do you... Have a happy memory at all? Back where you are from. Of friends? Anything?
no subject
The regret's swift and strong. There's only one answer to that question, and it involves talking about someone that makes her most uncomfortable of all to bring up around Soundwave. That's not even touching on the guilt that comes with it. Here she is in someone else's arms, ticking off one moment after another that was meant to be shared with the Player.
All she can do is what she does best: lie. With a shrug of one shoulder, she does her typical "laughing off the pain" thing, since anything else would be suspicious. ]
No. Not really. But that's why I'm making plenty of happy memories here~
[ And the Player will hate her for that. But...maybe they'll look over this one thing. Plus a million other things. Also a million other things she's yet to do and knows she will, because they're inevitable in a place that has sex as a focus. ]
Sorry. I wish I had a better answer for you. Maybe ask something else?
[ Avoiding anything to do with the past would be great! ]
no subject
I see. I... Hope I'll be able to keep making happy memories with you.
[And judging from all the time they're able to be together, she seems plenty happy to be with him. He keeps poking and brushing her cheek, sort of as a way of distraction while he thinks or another question.]
What made you become interested in writing poetry?
[That seems like a good enough question to ask. Something she likes doing.]
no subject
[ ...Fun that apparently won't happen until they get past this Q&A session she's regretting more and more. Inwardly, she cringes. What happened to avoiding the past? There are plenty of questions that involve only the past few hours!
All the poking and brushing gets a pout out of her, because she has a feeling if she doesn't start being at least a little truthful, he's going to eventually ask a question that'll make her hide in one of her closets. ]
Well, that's an...interesting question. It's complicated? Writing poems was kind of built into my game, so...
[ Hmm. Sharing that wasn't too bad. Fine, he's earned a little more. ]
I didn't let that limit me, though. I wrote what I wanted, not what the game wanted to pigeonhole me into. It was one of the things I had real control over...
[ But was that her, or was that--she doesn't even want to think the word, but--was it...programming? She shakes off the thought before it can drag her deeper into the same dark depths that make it hard to fall asleep at night. ]
Even when I share poems with someone, the feelings I write are just mine. No one can take it from me. So...it makes me happy?
[ While she sounds unsure, some weight has lifted off her shoulders. Weird. ]
no subject
[Stop tickling him! It'll just make him poke her cheek harder, but he does stop with the poking when she's answering the question.
Ah, he didn't know that writing poetry is a... game mechanic? in her game. Since he learned today that Monika likes writing poetry, he's made the assumption that it's an interest she developed here when she got the freedom she sought for.]
I did not know that it was built into your game.
[At least he sounds apologetic that he keeps bringing her back to the past.]
As you said, it is your very own words you write down on the paper. It comes from your... heart, and nothing else. And... you seem to enjoy it when you get to share your poems with people.
[He rests a hand atop her head, lightly stroking her head in an attempt to comfort and reassurance. Well, he's satisfied with her answer, and the less said about her game, the better for her, right?]
I believe... that is enough questioning. We've taken too much time away from the book.
no subject
Besides, opening up has dampened her mood, just a little. If he were anyone else, she'd probably have gently requested for him to leave so she could mope in peace. Luckily for him, he's one of the few that can get away with making her think about things she normally tries to ignore. ]
With a title like "Doki Doki Literature Club!", I guess you'd probably expect it? [ She sighs. ] But...I am glad I could share with you. You're one of the only ones I've felt comfortable enough to do that with here. It's nice to have someone to share with again.
[ What a fun reminder of how alone she usually is. If not for the headpats, she definitely would've started moping. Her sigh is more of a relaxed one this time, her eyes closing as she rests her head against him. ]
Mm. Just a few more minutes of this. The book's not going anywhere. [ Instead of tickling, she gently strokes his chest. ] I might switch to a different one anyway. Something a little more serious. Unless you're that invested in what Alice is getting up to? Ahaha.
[ Her head pushes up into his touches, trying to get more out of him. ] This is a little random, but. Can you...sleep next to me again tonight?
no subject
I'm invested in whatever book Monika is reading at the moment.
[Basically, she can do whatever she wants, he'll stay here with her and listen. Her touches make his vents sigh softly, leaning forward ever so slightly to feel more of her hand stroking his chest. Seeing that she likes the headpat, Soundwave gives her some more stroking and petting, too. She deserves them.
The question gets Soundwave to pause his headpatting, head tilting to a side. Then, he releases an amused huff.]
... I can. In fact.... I will always say yes to that.
[Soundwave is too used to having someone next to whenever he recharges. Even if he doesn't look or act like it, he does yearn for companionship. It reminds him just how alone he is in the resort, without her. And the first night when they sleep together, it was nice. It's no surprise that he'll want to sleep next to Monika again.]
Monika, you do not need to ask for next time. You can simply tell me that you want me to, and I... gladly sleep with you.
