I'm considering playing Rin Tohsaka from the Type-Moon franchise: Fate/. She appears in multiple installments, and I have two canon points to take her from. I will list them below.

Brief Character Summary

Rin Tohsaka is a young woman at odds with herself. As a child she was raised to reflect ideals that contradict her core feelings. She was taught to be prim-and-proper, elegant, self-reliant, cynical, detached, cold and logically rational. However her true self, which comes out in private, is much different. Loud, bossy, shrewd, stingy, and childishly competitive.

This disconnect from how she was raised and her true feelings leaves those around her to feel like they get mixed signals. She puts off a very hot-and-cold attitude. Sometimes oscillating from detached ice queen to reactionary hot-head. On occasion one may come across the "Red Devil" side of her which is more mischievous and playful. At her core, and what she buries deepest, is her inclination to act as a big sister. She's incredibly protective of those she cares about and will overburden herself with responsibility. Though she'll most definitely disguise it as something self-serving.

Fate/Stay Night Heaven's Feel

If pulled from Heaven's Feel, which is actually her sister's route in the visual novel, she'd come with a greater complexity of High Emotional Stakes because I'd pull her from a character development crossroads. While this would make for a greater character arc within the game, it would probably not come without some difficulties. She'd be a virgin, and she'd have a hard time growing closer with other characters due to her guarded nature. Rin would also be 18 - which could be good or bad depending on the ratio of younger vs older characters in the game. It puts her at the cusp of adulthood.

Lord El-Melloi II Adventures

This installment is a light novel series that takes place 3 years after Fate/Stay Night. Rin is in her 20s and has been attending classes at Clock Tower (a mage school in London) for sometime under the tutelage of its professors. This is would give her a wider array abilities (in bed? maybe ♥) as well as put her in her 20s which may be a more comfortable age range if more characters are app'd out of the teen range. By now she's a supporting side character and most of her character conflict had been addressed in Stay Night. Since the author of the light novel series discussed a "separate route" leading to the Lord El-Mello II books, and mentions of Hollow Ataraxia (the sequel in which all the routes got mixed into one) this would also mean that her v-card status is a bit more vague and she's more confident in being friendly towards others.
