[ Childe himself has a sort of twisted sense of justice. He believes in the world that the Tsaritsa wants to create; he's pledged to help do just that.

But part of him is tied to the Abyss in ways even he cannot fully understand or explain. He's still just this side of chaotic. He talks about things like ruling the world. Somehow these ideas are never really at odds in his head.

He does know that a machine deciding everyone's fate based on who knows what is shitty, though! He doesn't yet realise (will he ever?) what sort of scheme he got caught up in or why. If he ever learns, he'll be pissed about being used by yet another archon.

For now, he can't even hold onto his anger at Fontaine. Not with Wriothesley on his knees joking at him like that. ]

[ He says all of this through his fit of laughter, not even able to keep up the deadpan of the joke. This really wasn't how this game was meant to be played, he thinks, but at least it's entertaining.
