Durge bends down to retrieve the lock, and considers killing Edward for his audacity when he finds the lock closed. But he was seen leaving one of the game rooms with Edward, and they're very close to the casino floor, so it wouldn't be a very sensible choice. He values discretion. In any case, he already has a few staff narrowed down for his first victims- they seem a better place to start, rather than lashing out at the first participant to piss him off.
