Yes, I think that's a fair assessment. You are very kind, miss Aerith.

[not that he expected any less. His smile is wry as she speaks again, head shaking.]

You might be surprised... but I suppose they're probably more upset at themselves, too.

[Her touch is, in the moment, something of a mixed relief. It surely hasn't been that many hours since he met with Eiden in the baths, but there's still a sort of electric tingle wherever skin brushes skin. Ah... it's a little troublesome. Is that something related to him, or just the place's lead into continuing their game?]

I see... how unpleasant. I'd hoped those who were here at least agreed to it...

[He exhales a sigh then, head shaking. There's no reason to get upset about it when they're all stuck here with no way out, but Olivine is not the type to be pleased hearing others are being pulled into circumstances they didn't agree to.

In any case, there's no particular effort to keep distance from her, nor to close in. It really seems kind of... habitual, in the way he regards her. Between Garu and Blade, not to mention Morvay and Aster, the priest is... quite used to abrupt affection.

Familiarity touches his features when Aerith talks about her choices, about the people she's vowed to protect in no uncertain terms. And of course it brings him back to Eiden, to the dilemma of knowing the man's habits versus the potential to get hurt. Their fights may be different, but the reasons?]

... then I'm glad that my gains have gone toward that goal. We may not be able to stand in front of every threat, but when an action is so clear, I don't think I'd be able to refuse either.

[His smile warms more still, a thought flicking up into space as she bows her head and speaks her heart.]

... forgive me if it's a bit presumptuous, but... I think the people I want to protect would be upset if I tried to do it all on my own. Maybe we could band together in the future, too?

[He's trying not to be too guilty over recent events before this place, he really is.]
