it's not like she doesn't know the reality of their situation. does she love it? no, not really. but she also recognizes that there are worse fates out there. this would probably seem like a mercy to the people who go missing from her happy little district.

besides, she refuses to be seen as someone who can't handle herself or the overall task at hand. she's had to adapt to an entirely new environment before, and she can do so again.
