“I can see that.” She smiles a bit, relaxing her grip as he lays his hand on hers. “I don’t know if it would be better to be alone here or not. Having friends at least means you can go to someone for help.” She says softly.
At least it wasn’t easy to tell, but he’s not wrong. It was easy to get overwhelmed. At first it was because there were so many new people, so many things to do— it was exhilarating while also being terrifying. She’s been alone for eleven years (well with Gordon but that doesn’t count. He was a mentor not a friend).
“It is a little comforting. I admit being around this many people is new.” She seems nervous talking about it, but pushes on. “I was alone on an island for a long time.” Elegia never felt like home, which is unfortunate but understandable. She lived and breathed the sea life, missed living on the ocean relying on the stars and the log pose to take them to their destination.
“Thank you,” she glances up at him. “Hopefully, we’ll find our answer about the flower soon.”
Maybe it was harmless! She had little hope with all she’s been told about this place, but at least a shred remained.
