As much delight as Sanji gets out of impressing her— even if he’s not really doing anything worthy of her amazement— it does confirm in his mind that she’s probably not been at the Peacock for very long. Some people take a while to master what the watches are capable of, but the camera mode shouldn’t be that surprising to anyone with a little experience.
Not that he presses that point, just grinning at her instead as she takes up his offer, grabbing on to his arm. It delights him that she does it— almost makes him want to squirm from his joy, really— making his step a little more lively as they continue their trek onwards.
”We’ll figure out what it does. Promise.” He figures she might need a bit of encouragement. “And hopefully there’s an easy fix.”
Not that he wants to think about that now, so instead, he focuses on her other question.
”I guess you could say that? It’s been…. nine months now? Feels like an eternity since I’m separated from my friends, you know?” Well, kind of. Nami and Zoro being here does complicate things— the Peacock can feel oddly like home at times thanks to them being here— but on the whole, he misses their whole crew being together. “You get used to it, but— you never want to.”
But the Peacock has a way of getting under your skin and sinking it’s claws in, no matter what you do.
Glancing over at her, he shrugs his shoulders. “How about you? Been here very long or this place still feeling so damn new, you can barely find your way without getting lost?”
