( another question that makes her test the chains again with another good yank, rattling metal and the wood it's attached to before she finally settles again. there's no question that she has the energy to thrash and potentially break something, but such isn't her role here.

she supposes it isn't really this guy's fault, but he isn't helping either so she doesn't really feel particularly bad about pinning him down with a glare. so yeah, putting the book further off is probably a good idea, even if she's rather secure where she is.

but see, if she weren't some level of livid, she'd have to think about the fact that her dress has gotten displaced in her squirming. hiked up in places, uselessly draped in others - she can only imagine how she looks to him now.

that his eyes yet linger on her instills a smugness that bleeds into her laugh. she's pretty, she knows. glad they can agree on that. she's conveniently ignoring the fact that there's a scene to all this. that he's supposed to do as he does.

( a title she all but spits, head tilting as she regards him as if she's not the one posted up like an art piece for judgement, inscrutable as she makes her assessment.
