surely, kinich must be suffering inside. yosuke has to step up his game. it's the least he can do! ignoring the laughter is just one part of that... or maybe they can ad lib it? the production's clearly got money to burn and yosuke is willing to make them work. ]

[ as the cocky warrior should in response to any invitation, any dare, yosuke draws nearer. ]

I'm not scared of you or any of your minions— [ okay, not the best improvisation but it works, right? and, strangely enough, ajaw's laughter makes it easier to follow the script by giving him something to ignore other than embarrassment, ] —but I just got here and you're already making me do all the work.

[ he stops when they're just out of each other's reach. following his next cue, he swings his sword down to stick it into the cave's floor like a challenge, a little shocked when it actually lodges itself into the ground. if nothing else, it takes the edge off of the next line, ]

[ this pause is less yosuke following the scripted beats and more him trying to find the strength to move past having said that in his lifetime. as if what follows is any easier to say. at least his turmoil about it comes off as his role's irritation. ]
