(truthfully, is it a surprise she tenses? she's been gone for a month, disappeared into thin air. is she hurt, is she not? that's a mystery, a mystery in how she stares at her like texas is trying to hide what she's thinking. what she's feeling about it and how she can quietly admit to herself that red does pull off the barbarian look. but that's the struggle. internally there's more than texas likes going on. the emotions were something she is having a hard time with, with parsing because what does someone do whenever they thought the person they had been getting closer with was gone?

(she has to play the character, but it does cause her to loosen up. the bored and distant gaze she carried had shifted now into something unreadable, her tone is also more befitting the character that she has to play. at least one of them has acting chops. somehow. but texas does often tell herself she's not giovanna or lappland when it comes to these things.
