(honestly, he's been going through the motions in these films. they tell him what they need, and he played the part as an extra. until now. now he was given the leading role, the leading role where he had been instructed to wait for a moment while everything gets into position. the fake sword they gave him was reminiscent of the blade he used before he swapped to the buster sword itself. recollections of it breaking and zack taking up the mantle that angeal left him. someone had to embrace those ideals, the ideas of someone that would burn out young and fast.

but that's nothing, he died and he knows it. passing on the torch as he felt right doing, cloud....zack is sure that he can handle that. taking the sword, the ideals and the dreams that it once carried from himself and angeal before them.

the director calls for his attention, he's told to go and zack does with cape fluttering in the wind. a serious expression unlike his usual, that lengthy black hair of his tied back right as he charges the first suit of armor. the clash wasn't unlike ones back home, but he knows this isn't a real fight. nothing like it.

a heroic entrance, the sight of him going toe to toe like a pro with the next machine with quick movements unexpected of someone his size. he just has to....

(Zack?)

....rescue the princess, as vivid blue eyes widen in familiarity at the sound of this voice. he almost gets hit by the second machine knight, almost. he didn't let it stop him for a second before he charges past it, smashing it to the wooden and rustic floor panels. no, she saw right.

she knew right, there's only one man that looks like and this he's sprinting forward past these knights.)
Aerith! (no, no, no. he could have had it sit well with him more if she was back home in his short time getting acclimated with the resort. the expectations of sex and plenty of it as a means to survive and get by. to zack however, that's a problem. he isn't the type, he was never the type to just sleep around with any attractive woman. he hadn't even done the deed before, the closest he came to it is right in front of him. hopeless little zack, he really did wind up in a new kind of danger.

especially since he doesn't know everything that the resort and that the house is capable of.)

Sorry! But I'm not about to sit here!

(they didn't seem too pleased with the script change, though, maybe they did decide to let this play out. the second machine on his tail and what looks to be backup for it incoming, but zack wouldn't let it stop him. nothing would stop him. that's how determined his eyes are, especially after learning who he's rescuing. it doesn't sit well with him, but he'll manage. he has to. he won't let them stop him from taking off with her, though. in an unexpected change of direction since they had somehow dragged him from the throes of death into a reunion most unexpected.

all he has to do is grab her and run. who cares about the script! zack surely doesn't now that he knows who the princess is.)
