[ Aerith has been involved in a few films now, but this is the one that feels most like home. And really, even now there's only one real similarity between this and home: namely, the fact that she's in a church.

Still, it's nice in its own way, isn't it? It would be nicer with a hole in the roof letting some flowers grow, but the aesthetic is familiar at least, and she can work with that.

The aesthetic, though, really is where the similarities end. Aerith is dressed in the garb of a princess and tied down against the altar like some sort of sacrifice-to-be, and if she knows anything at all about this place and its usual machinations, even outside the realm of film, the binds will be keyless, needing one thing and one thing only. She's guarded by two oversized, automated suits of armor, and for a while she just... lies there, eyes trained on the door as she sighs.

Oh, won't someone please come and rescue meβ€” It's her one scripted line in this whole mess.

And then, someone does. Someone tall and dark-haired, garbed like a typical adventurer, comes rushing into the church, sword outstretched as he all but flies into the nearest suit of armor, sending it crumpling to the groundβ€”

(after all, the fight scenes aren't really what matters here, are they?)

β€”andβ€”

Aerith's eyes widen, the binds tightening around her as she tries to sit up, something seizing in her heart and her throat all at once. ]

Zack...?

[ It's not in the script. The "director" huffs in irritation, but no restart is called. They'll just cut it laterβ€”the audience only cares about one thing anyway. ]
