So, for now, he doesn't touch Aventurine's hand. Mostly because he doesn't know how to ask why he's extending his hand and thinks it's probably just polite to move on.
Still, Aventurine's assessment of Wei Wuxian isn't inaccurate. There's a bit of a both/and thing going on here as well. He doesn't think Aventurine is a threat but he also doesn't think he'd be unable to defend himself if push come to shove. He can still whistle, after all, and there are plenty of ghosts floating about the resort to come to his aid.
But more than that, he doesn't really care. This is all new and interesting to him so he doesn't want to ruin it by sweating the small stuff. He doesn't need to know the why of everything. Not right now. Not yet. So he just moseys on along.
