Or maybe we haven't made the commotion yet...

[ Heathcliff pauses, as though seriously considering making said commotion, then sways to the card tower. He plants a hand on the table for stability, frowns, and gingerly takes one off the very top.

The entire thing comes crashing down. Of course it does. At least it's a extremely quiet commotion.

Heathcliff stares at the pile, then at the card in his hand. He does not appear to mind his very sudden loss. ]


What incredibly strong opinion do you have that is completely unimportant in the grand scheme of things?

[ A beat. ]

Think the ground should stop swayin'. Or come up here and punch me if it wants to settle somethin' with me. That don't count though, 'cause it's a fact, not an opinion.

[ Another beat. ]

I think tall people have too many advantages. Sure, short people have a better... what's it... center of gravity. But tall people have more room to. To grow. Bein' tall and all. It ain't fair.
