It's possible....given the number of uses related to it.

(texting would take her time to learn, but she did see that it has a text to speech feature. somehow she has a feeling that might also cause problems for them, her claws tap her champagne glass thoughtfully as if contemplating something. she can see the uses of it, truly. not something she wants to be forced on herself, either, but the knave isn't going to complain too much. if she could, then she might have sent it back to snezhnaya for the others to look it over. second thought, she shouldn't think about that.

dottore might use it for something, and arlecchino has enough of a migraine from her utter loathing of the man.

that's better to not let him get his hands on a new "toy" while also maintaining some manner of curiosity behind its features. they do not come from a land with cars, watches, whatever else it is that they're seeing within the resort. modern era clothes, different food, and a difference in music from the dance floor.

(this doesn't count the dance styles changing, now that is a grave sin with the number of bump and grind she saw.)

they're both more likely to get answers as time goes on, that's a given for them. enough answers to their questions and enough to think about for their stay. gleaning staff and guests has been useful, but not everything was answered by them. annoying, yet a given. dangling information like a carrot also means compliance is easier, just like removing visions from those who truly need them.)

Given our captor is "kind" enough to give us these, I would assume that they might have that use to monitor those wearing them closely.
