Brats can be cute. [ ... sure, let's just say that much. anyway as nice as the mark is, she doesn't really know what the hell it is besides looking pretty for. whatever texas might give of her is what she'll take. she's probably resigned herself to a life of that much. if she were any more selfish, if she could possibly just take what she wants with no regard for anyone else, how simple things could be.

but she'd given up on that. she knows for her entire life she really can't rely on anyone, and a part of her knows texas wouldn't spare anything for her after all either consciously and knowingly or just as a matter of fact. it's something she just has to accept.
