Nami’s words distract him for a moment and he frowns at her. “Would you have said yes to a date with me?” He’s honestly curious, even if it isn’t the best time to ask such a question. Loki supposes he’s been on a couple of dates here, but it’s not something he’d done much of in his life before this place and he’s not really sure anything here really counts.
As the tentacle wraps itself around Nami, Loki gasps in surprise and attempts to teleport away, only to find himself in the exact same position, the tentacle on him wrapping firmly around his waist before continuing to coil down one of his legs. Of course, for reasons Loki has yet to figure out, this seems to mess with his magic and he succeeds in going nowhere.
“I am quite an adept mage, thank you,” he snipes in return, though he immediately feels bad for snapping. This is hardly Nami’s fault. “Unfortunately, it seems any time sex is involved, my magic seems to falter.”
It’s probably not a surprise. Since whoever is running this place is strong enough to have brought him here in the first place, it only makes sense that they might be strong enough to mute his powers when needed.
