[ The tentacles take to working their way down her arm, a shift ocurring when they reach her forearm that may just take her by surprise. Where they'd been applying rippling pressure with their smooth side, they flip over now, suckers touching against her skin to more effectively manipulate themselves. It's a feeling that's incredibly foreign, but if she can stand the oddity of them, they're much more effective than before? ]

[ At least the story continues. ]

He did as any true sailor would.

Tying a rope around his waist, he began to climb the mast as the captain and complete the task the captain had shouted. His courage inspired the rest of the crew, desperate not to die, and they followed his lead of tying ropes around themselves as well. Their fortitude and the boy's knowledge of the seat prevailed. With the ship as their sword, they cut through the tempest and survived their first encounter with death on their voyage.

In the calm following the storm, one of the men approached the boy and asked for his name. Word of his heroics spread quickly throughout the ship, reaching the ears of every survivor and the captain himself, who had since regained consciousness. He was acknowledged by every one of the remaining men as a hero. The men who had mockingly dubbed him "Captain" apologized and he began to be known as 'the Brave' instead.

Their woes, however, were far from over.
